I liked the trailer but the movie clearly has changed a lot from the book. Every scene that has been leaked and the trailer has a significant change. Since I love the books and Stephenie’s work I’m a little worried that the changes may weaken the appeal of the movie for me. I expected a lot more from CGI on the werewolf transformation. That was definitely the money shot but I expected better fx. These wolves are supposed to be at least four feet tall; it looks like a stuffed animal.

That wolf could be 4 feet tall.....hard tell....no point of reference in that scene to compare with. Need to see more. As far as making changes...welcome to Hollywood. Even LOTR Trilogy - changes were made but still worked out.

I to am dissapointed in the apparent changes the movie has made. I still have hope but have seen too many books go extremely different in the movies... Hope it does not turn into a Blood and Chocolate catastrophe .... I felt that in the book the way Bella finds out Jake is a Wolf is very important to the story line. One can only hope that the film will stay true to the spirtit of the book

OMG...amazing. i think the new director really did it. i have higher hopes for this movie. and i was so worried what they would do with the wolf thing...and it was done extremely well. special effects are great. very happy about that.

Given that the books are supposedly badly written schmaltz, hopefully this new movie will be one of those films that are better than the book.

Cant wait to shred this movie. I love to hate it. So we got ourselves a guy who turns into an actual wolf, like Blood and chocolate, nothing new about that. Unless this guys licks himself and forgets he's still human. Then we got the 30 year old looking actor playing a 100 year old vampire who stalks and sleeps with underage girls having a spiderman moment by the lake (wheres the Dawsons Creeks song) Wow, teens they're so in love, its not like they can only love once and then after theyre 18 they can never love again. HA HA HA This movie is going to be fun. And if you dont like Anti-Twilight fans....im over it you should be too.

REDante,

You missed out on the basis of the Twilight books. The vampire does NOT sleep with the girl because if he did he would kill her. That makes him irresistible to her.

The books are basically this sexist riff on how women are attracted to bad boys and shouldn't have their own dreams and desires. Instead, they should throw away their dreams and ambitions for the love of their lives.

The books ignore the fact that Edward IS an adult having an emotional affair with a teenager. Because Edward is hot and young looking, readers push aside the very real problems with this relationship. How many people would find it hot if an 80-year-old, wrinkled, white-haired man was declaring his desire for a 16 year old?

By REDante at 11:03 AM ON 06/01/09

HA HA HA, it would be funnier if it was Jack Nicolson playing Edward......oh even better Clint Eastwood.....no no no the old man from Family guy

for the ones upset at the "changes" you see in the trailer watch it again...when bella is in the meadow with laurant she is wearing a grey coat and a back pack...when jacob transforms and jumps her she is wearing a brown coat and no back pack...2 different scenes stuck together..there will be some changes...but wait to see the whole movie before you judge

Opinions, opinions...why can't we just like something for what it is (a movie, a book) and leave things be. If you like it, cool. If not, do you really think anyone cares when there is so much more out in the world to really worry about?

By permanentlyout at 9:38 PM ON 06/01/09

You guys are all wrong. Jakes transformation is definitely larger than the four feet we expect. CG is fine. Quit expecting too much folks. It's just a movie. Enjoy it when it comes out and try not to critique it to death. We all expect changes..look what happens to Stephen King movies for god sakes!

This whole series is for people that hate science fiction and fantasy and who love garbage soap operas. It is the most inexplicable cultural phenomenon since those Beanie Baby things sold for hundreds of dollars. (and it's for the same people)
