An image of the new Freddy Krueger—that is, about as close as we're going to get for now
Jackie Earle Haley, a new Twitterer, tweeted this playfully teasing image of his Sunday-morning coffee from the Chicago set of A Nightmare on Elm Street, in which he plays the razor-clawed Freddy Krueger.
Don't get it? Look a bit closer at the image. Especially on the right-hand side.
Platinum Dunes, which is producing the movie, has been very coy about releasing any images of Haley as the new Freddy, so we'll take what we can get. For now. A Nightmare on Elm Street is slated to open April 16, 2010.

I would of preferred a movie that told the origin of Kruger, and how he came to be. Something that could be a prequel to ANoES, then ending it with him becoming the nightmare.

His backstory always was being a child killer, but all the movies were with teen/young adults. Asides Del Toro, who isnt afraid of killing children in his movies, I seriously doubt the director is going to show a 10 year old being dragged up the wall and then sliced and gutted across the stomache.

At least he's finally learned some manners - I mean, he IS using a coaster. Maybe in the new movie, he tidies up after killing people and leaves a handmade doily as his signature.

The movies had him killing the last of the children of the parents that murdered him (for being a child killer).
I'm dubious of the film (although I think they got the right guy for Freddy).
