BBC America announced that it is bringing the cast and creators of Doctor Who, Torchwood and Being Human to Comic-Con International in San Diego next month.

Doctor Who star David Tennant will appear alongside writer/executive producer Russell T. Davies at this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego, BBC America announced. They will take part in a Doctor Who panel, along with executive producer Julie Gardner and director Euros Lyn, July 26 at 10 a.m. PT.

Tennant will travel to San Diego having shot his final scenes as the 10th Time Lord. He and fellow panelists will discuss the latest incarnation of television's longest-running science fiction series and take questions from the floor. There will also be exclusive sneak peeks from the upcoming specials, which will debut on BBC America.

The stars and makers of Torchwood will also make an appearance 48 hours after the last episode of Children of Earth airs on BBC America, with a panel featuring star John Barrowman, writer/executive producer Davies, executive producer Julie Gardner and director Lyn, July 26 at 2:15 p.m.

Being Human's creator and writer, Toby Whithouse, plus lead actors Russell Tovey, Lenora Crichlow and Aidan Turner, will appear at the same panel to talk about the inspiration for the show and what it's like to play three twentysomethings with secret double lives: a werewolf, a vampire and a ghost. All four panelists will be signing exclusively at the BBC America booth on July 25 at 3 p.m.

Comic-Con takes place July 23-26.

Oh wow! That's almost worth looking in to airfare to San Diego. :)

Yep, me and my BF will be first in line.

Unless you bought tickets to Comic-Con months ago, there's no point looking for airfare. Comic-Con sold out months ago, and you'll be lucky to find a hotel with open rooms anywhere nearby.

Just when I get used to one Doctor, they leave and I have to get used to another! I think future Doctors should be signed to 3-5 year contracts.

And appearing at the Wizardworld Chicago comic conn will be..... 7 ex pro wrestlers, 5 actors Who were in cameos in the Star Wars film, some unknown actress that was on a low rated TNT show, but shed her clothing for Playboy so she will bring th fan boys in, and special guest Lou Ferrigno!!!!
Why oh why cant we get cool people to come to the midwest like San Diego??

@greenhornet428 - David Tennant played the Doctor in 3 full series + an appearance in a previous season, 2 animated specials (1 of them hasn't arrived yet), the 2009 specials, and will be appearing in 2 episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures - that means he filled your contract stipulation already. Maybe you should change it to 5-8 years or something. lol

But as a long Doctor Who fan, it just comes with the show. The Doctor changes yet he remains the same. It's part of the show's charm. ;-0)

Ok, "Planet of the Dead" is on DVD July 28!!! Does anyone know when the Christmas movie "The Next Doctor" is out???

The San Diego Comic Con sold out full tickets three months ago, the day passes before that, and there isn't a hotel room to be had within fifty miles (really, including Tijuana). This is the main reason Hollywood and other media types have so inundated the place lately, they realize that everyone in popular media is either there or on the set. If they can't get there, they film little hellos from locations. Really, go sometime, you'd be amazed at the thing. Some folks treat it like a four day halloween party, and the actual Masquerade is a separate, and worthwhile ticket in itself. Check Youtube for almost instant uploads though, the place is totally wired for wifi and everyone is a blogger or amatuer film maker.

DAMN IT.
I wish I was either American, or not fifteen years old, so I could afford to go.
WHY can't they have epic ENGLISH comic-cons as well as epic American ones?
