Exclusive clip from Sam Rockwell's sci-fi thriller film Moon

We've got an exclusive clip from Moon, the upcoming sci-fi thriller film starring Sam Rockwell.

The Duncan Jones-directed film centers on a solitary astronaut stationed on the moon to mine the precious gas that holds the key to reversing the Earth's energy crisis. He slowly begins to lose his grasp on reality as his assignment nears an end. The film also stars Kevin Spacey, who provides the voice of a robot companion, and Kaya Scodelario as Rockwell's wife, Eve.

Sony Pictures Classics will release Moon in theaters on June 12.

I liked it better when it was called "Silent Running."

I saw this film at Tribecca, and it was wonderful. It really is a perfect homage to all the sci fi films from the 70's and 80's, and does not sacrifice any integrity. A true character study that I think everyone should see. It was also made for a budget of $5 million. Duncan Jones and Sam Rockwell make a great team, and I look forward to seeing other's reactions to this film.

Your enjoyment and description make me interested. I'll see it when it comes out.

This and District 9 are on my gotta-see list. (Hmm ... watching the trailer now ... they seem to have licked the one-sixth gravity problem, haven't they? Otherwise Sam would fly right off that treadmill....)

Definitely reminds me of Silent Running, visually. Story with a wife angle reminds me of the short story/radio play "The Reluctant Hero" (though the plot was a bit different than one man alone).

Silent running with a bit of Saturn 3 thrown in?

The guy is a clone and has implanted memories and can't talk to his wife in real time so he doesn't know she's not real, he's supposed to die after 3 years and get replaced with a new clone but ends up surviving and meeting the new clone and they come to realize the truth

That clip did not make me want to see this.

Now "Silent Running" ... The inspiration for R2D2, the ships for Battlestar Galactica, the Red Dwarf series and Mystery Science Theater 3000 ... That's a movie to watch.

Some people liked it better as "Silent Running"! Well, I like it better as "Doctor Who"!

It seems more reminiscent of Algis Budrys' ROGUE MOON to me. SATURN 3 and OUTLAND were both awful, and I'd hate to think they're trying to duplicate either film.
