Is it a law that all American CGI must look alike, and this bland?
CGI can look like ANYTHING. What does it always look like plastic?

It isn't intended to look like plastic, it's a cartoon style with near-real world lighting. Do you know how cartoon people would look with near-real world lighting?
Like plastic, because cartoon skin lacks the details and depth of human flesh.
I honestly must say, that has to be the most asinine complaint I've seen about CGI children's films, and this one? This one is actually a robot, so for all we know, his face might actually be made out of plastic.

I dont really care as long as the boy has clothes on, seriously, theres something creepy about seeing a flying little boy only in his underwear.

Just like with Trek...

Having been around 'way back when' -- to see the ORIGINAL Astro Boy braodcasts in the 60's, I have more then a few fond memories of the 'robot boy'. With the many 'revamped and updated' versions... not so much. I am waiting to see how this one does... and seen many of the clips/trailers that have come out. Obviously, they are not trying to duplicate 'real life' as they did with Final Fantasy so, being 'cartoony' is not a problem for me. The real factor will be how well they keep to the original origin / storyline to show the development of Astro and company.
