Primeval's cancellation is no rumour. It was confirmed yesterday that ITV will not be commissioning another series as they attempt to cut costs and focus on more adult orientated drama.
Shame really. It was a little lame and had weak story lines, but seemed to be a good idea and was enjoyable early evening series that could be watched by the whole family.

I liked the first 2 seasons of Primeval but I can't say I'm surprised over its cancellation as Season 3 was the absolutely worst of the 3 of them. Absolutely dire.
The special effect were also of significantly lower quality than the previous 2 seasons, but the worst thing were the "stories" - what poor poor writing.
Too bad.

Primeval was a very silly series, that didn't have pretensions that it was anything else. The plots were weak and the storytelling was a bit lazy at times, but it was damn good fun. I'll miss it.
The third series was by far the best of the bunch. It handled the cast changes extremely well, while still maintaining its impetus. It was also far more imaginative than the preceeding two series; the creators were experimenting with the formula, and it was becoming more than simply a "monster of the week".
So a shame that's gone. Hopefully Impossible Pictures will be able to market it to the BBC or Sky. If not, I still have my memories.

Not surprising. With the loss of three main cast members in seasons 2 and 3 the series just wasn't the same anymore. This is an annoyance I have with British television. Actors too often leave series just when start enjoying them in the roles.

This is a great family movie, I do hope it does make it back.

C'mon! Stop canceling the good shows and leaving us with nothing but crap and dragged out reality shows. Terminator: TSCC, The Unusuals, and now this. Give me a freak'n break! Stop this nonsense.

I really hope they get World War Z going. If you haven't read the book and you like zombie movies . . .this one has the potential to be the best zombie film ever. I don't recommend the book for kids though.

My family loves Primeval. It is the one show that we all seem to get together to watch, even my autistic son loves it - he connects to it very well, more than any other show. It's a shame to cancel such a good, imaginative, pleasant, creative, intelligent and entertaining show. While it was a bit campy and the special effects not "state of the art", it gave the viewers the chance to use their imagination and not lose their faith with the storytellers; that the story is more important than the effects (the present is more important than the wrapping). Give those of us who are intelligent and different something to chew on weekly. Bring Primeval back! It is one of the main reasons we are watching a great deal more of BBC. Don't lose another American to cheap American TV!!!
