stewart won for best performance, not breakthrough - that was tisdale.
ps - twilight was just a plain awful film, but tweens and teens can recognize...

Yeah....can you explain to me why if it was so "awful" it grossed over $380 million worldwide at the box office? Not to mention it only cost about $37 million to make. I'd love to get such a return on all MY investments... It might be more fair to say it obviously wasn't YOUR cup of tea, but to characterize it as "awful" is perhaps a bit unfair. It was easily better than 75% of the drivel that annually comes from Hollywood.

@Thratchen
It was awful. It was about a stalker who watch a girl sleep. Then hooks up with her. He shines in the sunlight calling himself a killer afterwords. Just because the short buses filled the theater for it doesn't make it a good movie. A lot of bad movies gross 400 million at the box office. Just because people go to see it doesn't make it a good movie.

See if people were like me and set up a rule such as: I like my vamp movies to be called “The Lost Boys” or “Near Dark”, you wouldn't be having an argument because you would never watch something that looks so lame.
And Malachi does have an awesome point, there are a lot of crap movies that earn over what they should… look at “The Fast and The Furious” series.
Good news though on more “Dr. Who” and “Dear Dracula”.

Dont worry, as popular as Twilight is, more and more people are organizing an
Anti-Twilight fan base. I mean if you cant stop the movie from being made you can always come together with shirts and new jokes to hate the movie.
I hate the movie with a passion but then I started making the jokes. Then other people made jokes, and then T-shirts started to be made. Before you know it, they'll be conventions of Anti-Twilight, it'll inspire more people to be comedians. Im looking forward to the new movie to rip it to shreads. So many doggy jokes we get into.

I am a 22 year old straight male who loves great scifi films like Alien and Blade Runner. Yet I actually like this film. It was a entertaining vampire teen love story. So go ahead and hate while I battle you with my love for the film. Don't hate, just love.

I am hoping the Twilight series acts as a gateway that introduces these kids to better vampire/werewolf literature and films.
I also hope the kids, especially the young women, revisit these books later in life and recognize the repeated emotional abuse and dysfunctional relationships for what they are.

and now for something positive. I love the doctor and i cant wait to see the new series! and the waters of mars!!! i hope matt smith and karen gillan are as well received by everyone as david tennent was and his assistants were.
and yes i am exited about new moon and i do happen to love stephanie meyer's book's including the host. which is a great book.

@Why The Strong Hate?
Its great you like it. What ever floats your boat. I mean I knew a girl who is straight and your age walked out of the film because of the stalking going on in it.
@ Kerrith
You correct about the abuse that goes on in it. Most people over look it but I'm really surprised Edward never tried to back hand her. Also don't give me this he wouldn't do that. He's from anther time he's a sleazy old man in a 18 year old body.
The old man just happens to love Belle who happens to love both him and Jacob. Woot for keeping this about your one true love. Belle is a slut Edward is a stalker. Great couple. Can't wait till they have a baby and she is the soul Mate of Jacobs...... =/

I am sooo sick to death of these Vampire and Werewolf movies and shows. It just amazes me how people keep going to see them.. Oh well, I guess that's what happens when you take natural selection out of the evolutionary equation.
As for Dr. Who. I don't think this new doctor is going to last more than one season. When I look at an image of his, it's almost as creepy as Bob from those male enhancement commercials. I also wish they would stop making these huge gaps in between seasons. And a few more episodes per season would be nice.
I do hope they bring back Jen, the Doctor's Daughter. Her character reminds me of the Doctor back in the heyday of the Tom Baker era. Unpredictable and funny.
