Robert Knepper, who played the villainous Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell on Fox's Prison Break, has been tapped as the new lead villain on NBC's Heroes next season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In at least six episodes of the series' fourth season, Knepper will play Samuel, a Jim Jones type—charismatic but evil, with a twisted sense of humor—who will veer into the lives of all heroes. The character had been referred to as "Carnival Barker" in the series breakdown released last month.
Heroes is slated to return in the fall for a Lost-style all-original run in a new timeslot, 8 p.m. ET/PT on Mondays. The sci-fi drama will share its time period with another fan favorite, Chuck, which will take over in midseason.

I'm guessing Barker is the last name, and "Carnival" is a nickname, maybe a reference to his past (or his power).
It's about time. Sylar was getting too much attention.

I'm intrigued by the new season. I've seen every episode of Heroes, good times and bad. I hope it gets better this season with tighter writing and a coherent plot. Please, no more world destroying epiphones. That's all...

@NadaNuff: Carnival Barker is probably like "Midway Barker" - these are the folks who yell "step right up" and try to find the suckers to be parted from their money. I suspect it has more to do with his power than with his surname.

good choice but NBC is making a big mistake with these shared timeslots

I don't think they are making a mistake with the time slots...it sucks to be 1/3 through a season, and have it go to re-run for 4-6 weeks...then it disappears again during the holidays...the Olympics are this coming Winter (on NBC) plus other major sporting events, world events...I would much rather see all 20 episodes back to back to back, then after the Olympics are done, bring in the other show for a full season run (even though I think Chuck only got picked back up for 13 right now) in the spring. It does suck that we have to wait until 2010 to see next season of Lost, but you find fewer interruptions when they run them full out for half season...the ultimate would be to increase a season from 20-22 eps to 38-40...that would be sweet, but I suppose we do have to give them some time off, otherwise the shows would suffer.

His character on Prison Break became SO annoying after the first season. Hopefully he's not playing more of the same in Heroes.
