Producer Frank Marshall: Bourne 4, yes; Jurassic 4, maybe; Neverending, we'll see

Producer Frank Marshall: \<i\>Bourne 4\</i\>, yes; \<i\>Jurassic 4\</i\>, maybe; \<i\>Neverending\</i\>, we\'ll see

Producer Frank Marshall told reporters that he's still developing another Bourne movie, but was less sure about future installments of Jurassic Park and The Neverending Story. Marshall spoke to reporters in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Marshall said that his development company has about 10 projects on the front burner, including the next Jason Bourne film.

"I am moving it forward," Marshall said of the Bourne franchise in a group interview. "We'd like to shoot next year, but it's trying to get everyone's schedules in the right place and getting the script right. We have done pretty well with these scripts that are loosely put together, but I would like the script to be really solid this time before we go forward, so we are spending a lot of time on story."

As for a proposed fourth Jurassic Park sequel? "We'll have to see if they can come up with a story," Marshall said. "We don't have a story yet."

When asked about the rumored Neverending Story remake, Marshall laughed in some frustration. "We love the book," he said. "We've always thought there was an opportunity there to tell a lot of elements that were in the book that weren't in the [original] movie. It's another one where we are still working on the rights. Once we get that, we'll bring on a writer. But it's off in the distance, but it's a great story."

Marshall said a new deal with Sony will soon be another resource for development ideas. "It's been very exciting, because we are looking at their old libraries and looking at things they have that have stalled out and we may get back on track," he said.

Re, Helen: I am just surprised the ad isnt n a box on the side.

And, if marshall and crew can come up with good storys for jason, The Juraasic, and Neverending story, that woulld be great.

Maybe they should get him and his crew, to do the upcoming barsoom storys, maybe a new take on the works of Jules Verne, ERB, Isamov, Heinlein, etc...

You know, storys based on the original, not knockoffs that only resemble the original storys by the titles.

WOW. Now looking back on the T Rex it looks like poor CGI. But back then it was cutting edge, wasn't it? Jeez things have changed.

No more Bourne. They killed that franchise with the last episode. There is no need for Jason to run or the Gov't to try to stop him anymore. Let the series die for pete's sake before it becomes an even bigger joke than it already has become.

fdsy, actually, I'm pretty sure the T-Rex in the still above was a robotic model, not CGI. I saw the T-Rex scene from the first Jurassic Park on cable the other night; hadn't seen it in a while, and it still totally holds up (in my opinion). Of course, maybe I'm mixing in my own recollections of being dazzled and amazed the very first time I saw the scene in the theater way back in the '90s.

Angry-Jonny: I think anytime we see the entire T-Rex, it's CG. The robotic puppet that Stan Winston created existed only as the torso and head of the creature, used in closeups, as when it peers into the vehicle and the pupil dilates or contracts. FWIW, I think the reason the image is hazy is because it's in heavy rain.

ripleycat is correct. The CG was only used when you see the entire bodys moving, what they called "full motion" dinosaurs. The close ups were the animatronics. I too recently watched the T-Rex attack scene and though it was released in 93 it still totally holds up. You can't judge that scene by a web JPEG.

Oh My God Please don't let JJ Abrams anywhere near Jurassic park!

By IsoTek at 4:17 PM ON 06/18/09

@Zacary R. Wildstar. Personally I hope J.J. does get a shot at the Jurassic franchise. Like it or not, his Trek did well so I have faith in him as do many others.

Oh, please, God, give everyone on the SSD Dexterous English lessons. Don't give them back the ship until they can pass with at least a B grade.
