Queen Latifah, who is attached to a remake of the body-switching comedy film All of Me, told SCI FI Wire that the project is caught between producers' notes and a studio shake-up. Adam Shankman was developing the script at New Line with his production company, Offspring Entertainment, when Warner Brothers took over New Line.
"I know a script came in," Latifah said in an exclusive interview Monday in Santa Monica, Calif., following a press conference for Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. "You've really kind of got to talk to Adam Shankman, because they were taking point on that. A script came in that wasn't quite where it needed to be, so they sent it back with some notes to be worked on some more. Then the whole thing kind of went crazy with New Line, because it was a New Line project, so it sort of just went up in the air for a minute. I'm sure it'll land somewhere."
The original starred Steve Martin as a lawyer, half of whose body becomes possessed by the spirit of a woman (Lily Tomlin). Latifah's version would switch genders: She becomes possessed. She added that she had hoped Martin himself would play the Tomlin role.
"We were still figuring out who that was going to be," Latifah said. "It would've been fun to kind of do it with him again."
Latifah also hinted that her character might have more than one spirit inside her. "[I would be] the one with a couple characters in me," she added. "That would be me."

Oh I'm so glad they're remaking this because really, if there's anything that needs to be improved upon its the acting talent of STEVE MARTIN and LILY TOMLIN.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this won't be very good.

I love Queen Latifah she is an awesome comedian. I think the remake should be very good with her in it. And if they get Steve Martin too.....that would make it twice as good....

A remake of a Steve Martin movie? Ironic, eh? What's next, WIll Ferrell in T'he Jerk?

ANOTHER body switching movie? Ok, I 'm calling on all the True Film community to stop what they're doing at 12noon GMT each day and say a quiet prayer to whatever Higher Being they choose for a meteor to drop on Hollywood.
(Say, that would make a good movie...)

Will someone take all the idiots in Hollywood greenlighting remakes, line them against the wall and shoot them, please?! PLEASE?!
Enough already!
The world does not need another remake and it certainly doesn't need a remake of "All Of Me"". It was cute and funny when it relied on the physical humor of Steve Martin and the dry wit of Lily Tomlin, but it will be a mess shoehorned into a star vehicle for Queen Latifah. I love the woman, but can't they find something original for her to do?
What a waste.

Hollywood has been lazy for a while now...
Either it's a remake, or it's a fair film that is pushed to the hilt to make it an Oscar winning film (Slumdog Millionaire). Slumdog is a touching story, but Best Film Oscar winning?? No. Hollywood has definitely become quite lazy; no need to produce anything original (aside from books/comics from long ago) since the international community can produce it and make more $$$ outside of the US. Just sign it to the film company, provide
and garner over 200 million dollars for their lazy efforts. Great for the actors, but not so good for the Hollywood writers/workers. Where are the future Tom Hanks, Harrison Fords, Denzels (don't tell me that Jamie Foxx is it-- he's musically gifted, but not up to Denzel yet; look at his films garnering award earning or attention...they're based on his musical gifts); where are the Meryl Streeps, Jodie Fosters, Angela Bassets (or Halles), or Hillary Swanks? I agree...give an original film to Latifah....bringing down the house was FUNNY ;).
...Hollywood isn't looking for new talent. I suppose the actors can go to Broadway then :).

But they're remaking a good film! So you just know it will be good! I mean, they couldn't possibly make something that wouldn't be as good as the original, in spite of the total lack of necessity in the making of this film OH WAIT
