Did First Lady Michelle Obama take her daughters to visit the Harry Potter sets outside London this week? That was the report widely circulated this week, but a new report on ABC News calls that into question.

ABC quotes Potter spokeswoman Vanessa Davies as saying no such visit took place at Leavesden Studios north of the British capital city, where all of the movies have shot. (The BBC reported that the visit took place at Pinewood Studios, but it's not clear whether that was an error or whether some of the seventh Potter movie was shooting at the famed lot.)

"There is no Obama visit, not as far as I know. I feel I would be in the loop if there was such a visit," Davies told ABC. (SCI FI Wire has been at Leavesden and knows Davies from previous visits, and she would indeed be the person to know.)

For its part, the White House refused to confirm the reports of a set visit.

The Times of London, meanwhile, reported that Michelle Obama took her daughters to meet the stars of Harry Pottter today, where they were guests at a party on the set as an 8th-birthday treat for the Obamas' younger daughter, Sasha, although Malia, 10, also went along for the ride.

The First Family were expected to meet Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and other stars of the film series, the newspaper reported. Sources close to the Leavesden Studios told the paper that Potter author J.K. Rowling herself would also attend today's party.
