Robert Rodriguez told MTV.com that his proposed live-action Jetsons movie may go before cameras next year.
"I've been developing [The Jetsons] for a while," Rodriguez told the site, adding that he's hoping to start shooting "next year."
While the director did confirm that the film would be live-action, he was predictably mum about other details. Adam F. Goldberg (Fanboys) wrote an early draft of the script, but it has since been reworked.
"We're writing the script right now," Rodriguez said.

Between this and a Predator re-do, I'd rather see the latter than to have yet another pathetic movie made of a concept best left on Saturday morning TV about 45 years ago!

Well, if it's as good as The Flintstones... it'll suck.

I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed that they are trying to bring this to a screen debut. I mean, I loved the Jetsons when I was a kid, but frankly a movie adaptation just sounds like a horrible idea. I can at least understand the thinking that goes into the boom in superhero movies over the last few years, but the only way the Jetsons should be revived is as a cartoon if at all, and then only on tv, not the silver screen.

Nervous, skinny actor DJ Qualls could make a great George Jetson:

@mikymik38 & CCxxx
If they get Jim Carrey or DJ Qualls (& yes I knew who he was without the web address)to play George Jetson, they should get Tiffany to play Jane Jetson (if they get Jim Carrey). Considering she played Judy Jetson in "Jetsons: The Movie" (90) (animated). And if DJ Qualls plays George Jetson, they should get someone like Kaley Cuoco or Jennifer Love Hewitt to play Jane Jetson.
If any of you don't know who Tiffany is here is the address:

I see he's trying to outdo Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl for title of "most annoying kids film ever". Go, Robert.
