James Middleton, executive producer of Fox's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, told SCI FI Wire that he remains passionate about continuing the story of the canceled series in another format, but does not want to get anybody's hopes up. Middleton had producing credits on both the series and the film Terminator Salvation.
"I feel like I don't want to raise anybody's expectations about what's going to happen with those characters," Middleton said in an exclusive phone interview Wednesday while promoting Terminator: The Machinima Series. "I can tell you that I love those characters. I use a business term, and it sort of belies my emotional investment in these characters, but they are a great franchise asset. My passion for them is not diminished at all, and I'll just leave it at that."
The season finale that became the series finale left fans intrigued about new possibilities. John Connor (Thomas Dekker) travels to the future, where familiar faces such as Derek Reese (Brian Austin Green) do not recognize him.
"It was a great way for us to end the season, but we would have liked to have continued," Middleton said. "There's no doubt about it. We liked making that show, and we all worked together really well, but the really great thing we can look back on is we've got 31 episodes of really good television. That's something we can be proud of forever. That's what we'll have to take away from it."
One theory about the ending is that by leaping to the future, John Connor never grew up to become the leader of the human resistance. That would free him of the burden of saving humanity.
"I think that that's the right interpretation, because in the actual footage of the show, we see that Derek doesn't recognize him," Middleton said. "So, by jumping into this future, he has erased his existence in a certain way, and we see that. We see that nobody recognizes him."
Middleton added that leaping to the future changes John Connor's fate. "We would have to have explored that if we did get a third season," he said. "If we had gotten a third season, I should say, we definitely would have explored what it all meant, but I think there's a great moment where we see Allison [Summer Glau], and John's look to her is very meaningful. I think that also would have been a great thing in terms of dramatic potential. Like I said, the show has ended, and it would all be speculation, and I really don't want to raise anybody's expectations."
Whatever becomes of the Sarah Connor Chronicles timeline, Middleton wanted to leave fans with happy thoughts. "The thing that I would say to you, and I'm sure [show runner] Josh [Friedman] would echo this, is we so much appreciated our fans' enthusiasm for these characters," he said. "My enthusiasm for them is undiminished, and it will always be that way."
The complete second season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles drops on DVD Sept. 22.

Hi,
for sure, Fans are willing to see more TSCC ... more of these caracters, cast, crew and storyline !
I would wait for the comeback, even if it takes a while, or if it's not back "as is was".
Keep up Mr. Middleton, keep up please!
I know quite a lot of fans that won't give up.
Regards,

To gorehound696 - You do understand that M-O-N-E-Y is what makes FOX go round. Want to bring back TSCC? You and a whole lot of people will have to show that you'd be willing to dive deep into your pockets for it. Producers do not care about the show, nor the characters no matter what is said. You have to prove to FOX that TSCC is a money maker, even while canceled. Like buying the DVD's and related merchandise. For heavens sake, they are even promoting them in the article. I am not wiling to do that, so RIP TSCC!
By hackyuoup at 8:30 AM ON 06/12/09
blah, blah, blah...deff ears. I loved Sarah Connor and i am so peeved that no effort is going into finding it a new home or to produce a direct to DVD/Blu-Ray movie resolving the story line. why bother telling us- you have the resources show us. Espeacialy after the recent movie did so well.
By nate9111 at 8:51 AM ON 06/12/09
This series was truly what is great and awful about sci fi. Die hard fans wont accept any flaws like any followers they have no will or thought of there own which is sad. I will miss the show but networks never want to do apocalyptic futures in shows as its even more money and they think its a downer. Hope the show can come back in some form and no not comic. Great Ending as the future is always changing!
By growger at 9:29 AM ON 06/12/09
Dome on, people! For smegging out loud!! Don't let them though dirt on the show yet. Call, write(it;s that thing you do with a pencel), e-mail Sci Fi channal. Plead for to bring the show back. We've already lost BSG & SG-A, TSCC could fill the void. Smeg, if Comedy Central can bring back Futurama which has been off the air for 6 years, Sci Fi bring back TSCC. Tit's the least they can do it their going to change their name to something smegging stuped!
By greenhornet482 at 9:35 AM ON 06/12/09
ok I have to ramble a bit because I see the termination of sarah connor chronicals is just another in a long list of dopey moves by the Hollywood types who have exhausted their immagination and need to hire some of the people who comment here: my other grips include
1. Comedy version of land of the lost (we all know it will be on DVD in about 3 weeks...)
2. piss poor remake of night stalker a few yrs ago (anybody on this list could have done a better job)
3. Time travel sticking its head once again in to star trek (apparently because nobody in Hollywood has faith that Trek can survive without at least one of the original series in a movie..)
4. Ridiculous retooling of Knight Rider, forgetting the essential elements that made it a hit in the 80s.
5. Canceling Journey Man, an original time travel show with real gritty human ramifications of time travel on real life
4. Adding big boobie vlucan girls to Star Trek Enterprise in place of better scripts (all of us Trekkies dont live in our parents basement and some of us have even kissed a girl-once in a while..)
I can go on but Ill stop for now. thanks for letting me ramble..

FOX is dead to me now, I will be ignoring every show and movie they pump out. WB will follow the same path if they don't do something with TSCC... QUICK!!!

I would like to see more TSCC TV series. Or maybe a DVD movie, like Serenity or something... Please bring back TSCC !!
By Ryan at 10:44 AM ON 06/12/09
How about just 30 episodes of good TV? The one with Sarah in a sleep hospital sucked royally! I got to the end realizing I could have skipped it and not missed any relevant information!
Still, I hope they can make a DVD movie. The money is there are WB and FOX know it. Finish up the story for us fans.
By River at 10:53 AM ON 06/12/09
Why the hell isn't SciFi picking this up? It would be a perfect match, especially with BSG gone.

For it's short run, T:SCC was one of the best shows on Television ever. I can't remember when I was so emotionally invested in the story and characters.
But there are so many unanswered questions. So much potential for a great third season! I wish we could have one!

If these comments isn't at pad on the back, Mr. Middleton - I don't know what is. Thank you for investing so much time and effort into this show.
I hope you're fighting the good fight to bring it back. A lot of good people out there is using every means at their disposal to get themselves heard. We want it back, and we're not going anywhere anytime soon.
As "Starkiller" puts it.. just give us the aim we need, and we'll make it happen.
By crichton007 at 12:04 PM ON 06/12/09
I'm not sure why there's such a big deal about this show going off the air. The first season was so good because it was grand and cinematic. The second season wasted all of that momentum and pondered the question "Who is crazier: Sarah or the machine in the basement that they finally got a body for?" I finally stopped watching when the episodes were building up on the DVR and I had no desire to watch them anymore. Let it go people, seriously: it's over.
By GAVAL at 12:06 PM ON 06/12/09
Loved the show, want more. Just thought I'd voice additional support. Lot of networks picking up shows from other networks like Futurama and Scrubs. Can't believe Scifi or TNT haven't picked up TSCC yet.
If Jerico and Farscape can be revised for a proper ending, so can this show! FOX, unshackle the rights and let passionate fans and creators of this show spread their wings a little more! It's got potential for so much more great entertainment!
By mr_green at 12:08 PM ON 06/12/09
TSCC was an absolutely amazing show, bring it back or I sell my TV on eBay!! TSCC was the only reason that piece of machinery deserved a place in my home.
By Pauul at 12:35 PM ON 06/12/09
T:TSCC was one of the best shows on tv. I really hope that someone out there recognises this and tries to revive it. I mean, if they can get the actors back then there should be no problem bringing the show back because they'd need new sets anyway.
As to the comments above about boring episodes like the Sarah in hospital episode... those episodes are necessary to spread out the budget. Yeah, I think things could've been improved upon and I think if the show came back the producers would make sure they did not repeat their mistakes.
This show is really good. Another network needs to pick this up. Don't let this show die.
By oddball at 12:38 PM ON 06/12/09
Waa waa boo hoo the show got cancelled now lets all just sit around and cry for the next 2 years til studios see how pathetic we are and put the show back on TV.
This garbage ruined Terminator thankfully it's not considered cannon. Otherwise real true fans who understand the logic behind Terminator wouldn't see a wussy teenage boy cry cause he has to save the world. Friggin Thomas Dekker gives John Connor a bad name.
None want's this POS show to continue why the heck would it have gotten cancelled if they did.
You want to see a show with some balls and a real John Connor try Salvation. At least the John Connor from that show doesn't need protection from a teenage girl machine....
By sNaKeBiTe at 1:21 PM ON 06/12/09
This was THE best show on TV. It's such a shame they canceled it!
By Porter at 1:52 PM ON 06/12/09
I am not surprised by the cancellation. While the show had a tremendous ending if floundered aimlessly for most of the season.
This was a show that would have greatly benefited from a 13 or 16 show order instead of 22. They just didnt have 22 episodes worth of scripts in them.
By DJ Jarak at 2:11 PM ON 06/12/09
I also wanna know what happened with the T-1001. Was this the same liquid metal Terminator we saw on the Jimmy Carter? Why did it turn against Skynet? Why did it save John and the others? If it is on their side, why does it not want to join the resistance? Why? Why? Why? I'd love to see the series continue in comic format if not on television. A TV movie like they did with Farscape or something right to DVD would also be good.
By Sithboy at 2:46 PM ON 06/12/09
What the hell? How can a show even GET canceled with THIS much fan support? Is it 1969 again?
By TGTanner at 3:20 PM ON 06/12/09
T:TSCC was one of the best shows on tv,so was JERICHO!. The fact is simple,if the fans Love it, CBS and Fox will find a fast way to cancel it and provide us with more crap tv. T:TSCC needs to be given season 3.
By Jday at 3:30 PM ON 06/12/09

By Erik Kolacek at 5:02 PM ON 06/12/09
I truly consider TSCC to be my favorite show of the past two years in terms of creativity, continuity [in the face of monumental cannon] and just plain likability. I went from "Why are they creating this show?" to being one of its hugest supporters. If you're reading these threads - Mr. Middleton, you did an exemplary job with this show. I, for one, have a huge hole in my heart over its demise.
By Mat at 5:30 PM ON 06/12/09
Why can't sci-fi pick up the show...?
I don't understand how a network won't use the latest movie buss to carry the show for one more season... or at least just a few more episodes.
By Richard Steven Hack at 5:34 PM ON 06/12/09
While it might have been interesting to explore an "alternate reality" where John Connor was never the savior of mankind, the REAL reality is that nobody who is interested in the continuation of the Terminator franchise wants to see that.
Salvation already has problems with a low gross revenue compared to its cost. How much of that is attributable to the disastrous second season of TSCC and how much is attributable to simply lack of interest in the franchise subsequent to T-3 is unclear.
The reality is that Josh Friedman, a man with no "street cred" in sci-fi except a script for "War of the Worlds" which was never used and no broadcast production experience managed to take a guaranteed hit like Terminator and turn it into a family drama and a psychological study and get it canceled in less than two seasons. And then had the hubris to try to re-invent James Cameron's concept of the future!
What is needed is a total reboot of the show which goes back to "old school" Terminator but better done. It needs to follow the proven Terminator formula of concentrating on the central concept of exploration of the relationships between man and AIs, and concentrating on the core plot elements of dodging killer robots and stopping Skynet, and having a requisite amount of action, as opposed to navel gazing by the characters.
And they need to focus more on the Terminator, because nobody would give a damn about John and Sarah if there weren't a Terminator around. Cameron was fifty percent of TSCC and Friedman never acted like he knew it, except in season one.
By vince7 at 6:13 PM ON 06/12/09
I agree. Cameron was 50% of the show, and as season 2 moved along she got less air time. and that hurt the show.
By Loves Summer at 6:20 PM ON 06/12/09
They should do a Made for T V Movie on sci-fi or something. something to bring some closure and make all us fans happy.
This was a great show. Not happy about its fate.
By RobbyStellarSeed at 6:38 PM ON 06/12/09
I still say that the future of such "intelligent" Shows like TSCC (et al) is on the Web, worldwide -- as some kind of PPV ($2-3 per Ep, with subscription options).
And, perhaps a reduced (or no) PPV fee if worldwide, international Ads are included (targeted to specific country audiences by IP address).
This approach would circumvent the "stupid audience" problem -- which plagues *so* many good Shows that have been canceled, thusly.
C'mon SyFy -- make it happen. Craig Engler, WRU??

By RobbyStellarSeed at 6:56 PM ON 06/12/09
@vince7: "I agree. Cameron was 50% of the show, and as season 2 moved along she got less air time, and that hurt the show."
I agree on all this. Yet.. that was perhaps one of the problems. My musings, maybe 6-months ago, or so, told me that there was going to be dissension between the cast, over the focus on Cameron.
The Show's name was "Sarah." And, "Connor." I suspect that both Lena and Thomas had some problems with Cameron's growing role.
As some have suggested, the solution is fairly simple -- make any new Show like this neutral in its name -- like, "The Terminator Chronicles," etc
Robby
By T800HappyMeal at 7:21 PM ON 06/12/09
It's great to see that one of the higher-ups is still fighting for TSCC. You can't say the same for Josh Friedman. I hope Middleton can pull off a miracle and somehow get us a direct-to-dvd or mini-series release of TSCC. Frankly, i'd be happy with any format as long as it isn't a comic or "graphic novel."
By Koltan at 7:22 PM ON 06/12/09
The main word in the name of the show is "TERMINATOR" not "Sarah" at all. "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" means that we see the events with Sarah's eyes and she is the one who tells the story. But it doesn't mean, that there should be more Sarah or John than TERMINATOR. Cameron is the main character of the show (should be). It was like that in T1 and T2 and James Cameron didn't try to "kill" Arnold, coz it would be like killing the movie itself. But creators of the show did that to Cameron. So they did that to the show. This is what really makes me sad. But I still like the show and still believe, that it can have, with corrections of the mistakes, the successful 3rd season.
By Angie at 8:36 PM ON 06/12/09
This entire show is great as are all the characters and I hope there is a way to continue the storyline.
By Zable at 9:41 PM ON 06/12/09

By Red Mask at 10:35 PM ON 06/12/09
So what they're saying is no matter what, Skynet destroys civilization but humanity's best hope for resistance and salvation will appear at a later time. Thanks for the suffering. I'd preferred aliens just blow up the damn planet.
By oddball at 11:44 PM ON 06/12/09
John Connor is the savior of humanity from the machines.
I would follow such a person only if what they preach is what they followed.
If they complained cause they can't handle being the savior I'd never ever place my life in their hands.
HEY TSCC fans.... with the above statements I made applying. Tell me how can you follow John Connor. If the series is so good tell me how you can follow such character that doesn't even have confidence in him self.
John Connor is the savior of humanity if not for him we'd be lost to the machines.
Please T SCC fans tell me how I can trust Thomas Dekkar to be the John Connor the future needs.
You all love the show prove to the fans why you think it's valuable.

By Lanie Grace at 12:10 AM ON 06/13/09
I think what we are seeing is the true motivation behind Josh Friedman's defeatist attitude.
He knows that any continuation of TSCC will be done without him and his EGO can't handle the bruising.
I think JF would rather see TSCC dead, than Middleton carry it forward and potentially succed where he failed.

By OneOpinion at 12:11 AM ON 06/13/09
Quality television doesn't exist anymore. And glimmers of hope like TSCC get dropped for shows like dollhouse? I watched dollhouse first then discoverd TSCC and from then on I couldn't watch another episode of Dollhouse. The difference between the two shows is QUALITY and good writing.
I really don't want to see a ,T4, T5, T6 with bale's rendition of batman minus the mask continued. There is no real story in that. Where T2 left off TSCC carried the banner of GREAT story telling. I would love to have seen what happens next.
Summer Glau is a definite star (think Audrey Hepburn's class with action hero potential). Thomas Dekker is viable as the next big thing in movies (think early Johnny Depp and early Paul Newman with the punk attitude), if nothing is done to renew the series anytime soon, re-casting will be needed. And it won't be the same, ie, great story telling needs a great cast to create something special. TSCC had both.

@oddball: In TSCC John Connor is 16 years old boy. Hormones are playing at that time. Of course, he can't seem to be a solid person and doesn't have confidence in himself. Would you have it, if your life was like his one?? I think he need at least double his age to be able to lead humans in the war. Or he needs to... jump thru time right into the hell. At war people grow very quickly. That exactly what happend in 2x22... BUT NOW WE NEED THE 3RD SEASON to see what happens with him in the future.
@Lanie Grace, you're as always right. Wanna join the Resistance?

By Koltan at 2:23 PM ON 06/13/09
I also think, there should be the 3rd season. And then 4th and 5th. Because movies and the show are additions to each other. They can show 3rd season before T5 and 4-5th seasons before T6. This will make a lot of peoples happy and will help to maintain the interest to the franchise at a high level. Personally I like both TSCC and T4. Show for the depth and relations and movie for the action and visual effects. I don't see any reason to refuse myself in a pleasure to see all Terminator stuff. I WANT both and I'll buy BOTH!!!

I mean on one site they tell you there's no hope, on the other hand perhaps there's a glimpse of hope...I really don't know at this point, but for other shows, like La Femme Nikita fans' efforts really worked in the end for at least a proper ending in a mini-series, so I guess we can still push it this way, buying dvds & rise our voices...WE ARE (STILL) THE RESISTANCE!! ;-P)

I just have to say that the only thing good about TSCC was Summer Glau and that red haired girl. Otherwise the show was boring. I said before the casting was all wrong with the exception of the above and Brian Austin Green.
There was very little action for a SF show, or even an action show. Everything was so gloomy. A little humor every now and then would have worked wonders. Even in the most desperate situations there is some light.
By Art at 1:04 AM ON 06/14/09
By the way I agree whole heartedly with Richard Steven Hack above. By the way War of the Worlds sucked too. If you can't improve on the original don't try. Man I love good Science Fiction and so many directors and producers just don't get it. Even Stephen Speilburg and George Lucas have lost the touch. Examples of Good Science Fiction and Fantasy: Spiderman, Alien, the new Star Trek, The Fifth Element, Starship Troopers the first one, Firefly, Independence Day, Total Recall, The first Matrix, the first Star Wars movies... go back and watch those movies and see how it's supposed to be done. Make it believable even though its not, get good writers but not so many on one film, follow the book as much as possible, don't leave so much out as was done on Harry Potter, if it is good people won't mind sitting through it.; if it is an action movie or tv show don't make a soap opera out of it. If the guy who made TSCC wants to study the human condition have him do a doctor show.
And fiw.nally don't have someone not interested in SF do a SF show.

they need a movie to finish off the series correctly.
they did it right with Farscape - after all the fans complained.
they did it wrong with Sliders - they totally stuffed the series with it.
at least SciFi channel stays with it until most of the story is, at least, resolved

I think this show is too early to bury. I won't be satisfied if they just make a movie to finish the story. The show has tonnes of unused potential and future seasons could become a way better than two seasons we've got now. I want to see John, Sarah and Derek to have more interaction with Cameron. I want to see how they study her to be human. It's weird, that John, being so much in technologies, seems doesn't interested in Cameron at all. In the short movie T2 John had more interaction with "Uncle Bob" than in the whole long show TSCC with Cameron.
So, I wait for the full-fledged continuation of the show with these characters but with changed relations between them. I want them to become the solid team and single family. One for all and all for one!

How can we expect the network that employs Bill Orally to give a damn about decent Aci Fi programming when the money comes from crap like American Idol?
By fantom45 at 9:35 AM ON 06/14/09
Thanks, for this information...
I hope this show would come back.
It is the best serial on тv...
By user49 at 2:44 PM ON 06/14/09
It's unfortunate that shows, like this, that capture your attention and imagination always seem to leave us too soon without a final closure!Llike a book half read.
By Emawind at 4:14 PM ON 06/14/09
I really hope in a prequel, season3, comics, books or whatever else they want it will be amazing! I really hope guys
By emawind at 4:18 PM ON 06/14/09

I loved this show and would love to see any continuation. :)
By Brokenchain at 10:19 PM ON 06/14/09
I can't believe the canned it... I'm sick of these networks' bigotry! "Hey we're hurting for cash, lets scrap the Sci Fi shows." That leaves me with 2 shows I give a crap about now. TNT is on my no watch, as well as NBC, Sci-Fi Channel, now FOX! TO YOU ALL!
By ML805 at 11:15 PM ON 06/14/09
I'm still hoping for some sort of miracle so that we can get a third season somehow. I still get a sick feeling in my stomach when I think about the cancellation. Very well written, intelligent shows wont make it too far nowadays. By the way, I still have never seen a nielsen box.
By Rayz at 11:32 PM ON 06/14/09
How could they cancel Terminator and keep Ghost Hunter crap or as I call it "What was that!" and wrestling. Who's running that place. What a drag.
By sleepyfan at 1:58 AM ON 06/15/09
I for one would love to know how this story would have played out. I am really hoping for a book or comic to continue this. I really need to know!
By DVR_EVERYTHING at 5:26 AM ON 06/15/09
I'm sick of investing my time on a show all for nothing, its no wonder why most people are giving up on new tv or movie productions because they know its all porperganda from the greedy people running todays Hollywood. They can add me to the list since TSCC's cancelation, its been DVR and Netflix ( I did go see TERMINATOR: SALVATION).
WB GIVE YOUR VIEWERS WHAT THEY WANT, DAMN IT!
By tom-tom-t at 5:52 AM ON 06/15/09
we want more ttscc wb.how about dvd movies
By Deadmeat at 5:41 PM ON 06/15/09
It seems that fox is determined to be second stringers with knock off reality TV and no commitment to drama. They just screw up one scifi drama after another, screwing me out of several seasons of build up on Firefly though the movie tied it up nicely. That ending was freaking awesome and I wanted more, thanks again fox for blowing off good TV.
By Smallmaniac at 8:56 PM ON 06/15/09
Dark Horse comic book series NOW!!!! They've done terminator before, they could continue this story there. Fox sucks btw, in case anyone didn't know that already.
By bluecastle at 2:38 AM ON 06/16/09
Glad to hear that James Middleton isn't totally giving up on this show. Season 3 would have been awesome....I'm really hoping by some miracle that we will still get to see it!
By DUBZ at 8:49 AM ON 06/16/09
WE NEED A SEASON 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By CameronIsSyFyLove at 10:30 AM ON 06/16/09
Almost a hundred comments for TSCC vs 17 at most comments for other SyFy news. If this isn't public out cry, I don't know what is!
WB What Does It Take!?
By mrenogaw at 3:59 PM ON 06/16/09
best thing for people to do is NOT BUY THE DVD's!!! fox says they didn't make any money on the show, and will make up for it on the dvd release. people just need to not buy them or this will keep on happening.
By Koltan at 4:07 PM ON 06/16/09
As far as I know, money from DVD sales go to Warner Brothers, not to FOX. So, it's better for us to buy as more DVDs as we can.
By Scifi Freak at 5:18 PM ON 06/16/09
I've been giving this some thought, does anyone remember when the TV channels used to show reruns of earlier episodes during the season or when they showed reruns all summer long? I believe that is one of the reasons so many shows do poorly. I know most everyone has a DVR but when channels did this they basically said to the viewer: here is a chance to catch what you missed.
I also agree with what was said above. Studios only see $$ so those of you who haven't yet, buy season 1 on DVD, order Season 2 and if you have already purchased episodes on Itunes (like me) purchase the box sets as well (if only for the cool extras).
By Koltan at 5:43 PM ON 06/16/09
The rating system doesn't comply with modern reality. More and more people use DVRs, especially the target audience of TSCC. Most of us are quite technically advanced and don't like, when show is interrupted with advertisements.
So, maybe studios should think, how to make us watch those ads even when we use DVRs. For example, they could do more product placement. And also put ads right over the picture of the show without interrupting transmission. This is how they show the direct transmission of Formula 1 races. The picture is never interrupted, but ads are on screen from time to time.
By movieagree at 10:54 PM ON 06/16/09
I just bought the DVD, I've watched the T4 twice! The series is absolutely amazing. Fox has made a big mistake by terminating the show! Please Sci-Fi bring it back. What's keeping you?
By movieagree at 10:58 PM ON 06/16/09
I just bought the series DVD, I've watched the T4 twice! Fox is dumb for cancelling the show especially when the movie did so well.
Sci-fi needs to bring the show back for the fans.
By t5000 at 4:09 AM ON 06/17/09
@ James Middleton.... I think you were main producer of S-1 due to the writers strike, and you did a good job with S-1, most fans had no complaints about S-1, except we wanted john to "man up " a little LOL.
so thanks to you S-1 was very good.
S-2 was good at times bad at other times, weaver savanah and john henry stole the show in 2nd 1/2 of S-2, just not enough of them.
I would like a S-3 but without josh friedman as show runner. not bashing him, I just dont think he is right for this type of show.
this show had alot of fans, we just dont have nielsen boxes, so we dont count in the ratings system.
T-4 was a really bad story and it is not even paying for itself.
Tscc is much better story would like to see it continue.
By arty at 7:31 PM ON 06/18/09
Bring back the cast and
DO SEASON 3
By elbir at 5:28 PM ON 06/22/09
Give us our Season 3!!! I want TSCC back!!! :''(
By Jeff at 3:31 AM ON 06/23/09
If it was not for the economic down turn this show would have made it to season 5 at least look at BSG that wasn't all that great and it made it for good knows how many seasons plus Sci Fi programs need more money because of the amount of props and sgi so yes Sci fi programs will be the first once to be scraped and unfortunately reality programs are the cheapest so they will be the last to be scraped... ... ... do you have big brother in the US its gone on for 7 seasons in England... i hated it then and i hate it even more now
By Jeff at 3:38 AM ON 06/23/09
PS: bring back TSCC PLEAS its my fav show
BSG sucks
the economic down turn sucks
and so does fox
WB kinda sucks because its stopped looking for places to air TSCC but it created it in the first place so...
By mr rea at 7:11 PM ON 06/23/09
i watched the TSCC after watching the new t4 movie.
really really liked it, its playing on virgin media on demand in the uk, i watched it all over a week, very gripping stuff. good cast, good concept.
but no new series, im quite shocked it did so poorly on the ratings, its better than most of the stuff on tv IMO.
Be great if it were given a new series , but not looking likley.
By dmason at 9:04 PM ON 06/28/09
Personally, I loved the series. I will agree with many, that the second series floundered, but I believe this is mainly due to the series being stretched out to 22 episodes. This made an otherwise excellent plot, seem slow and badly thought out. When I look back at it, there are maybe two or three unnecessary or pointless stories out of 22 (sleep clinic, enough said) and the rest is gold!
I love the plot around Cameron. How the damage to her chip is having this strange, almost Pinocchio like effect on her personality, and how John seems intentionally ignorant of these massive changes. I love how John is gradually hardened and carved into a soldier, by a series of tragedies that surround him, including the poignantly sudden and unbefitting death of Derek. The character has become virtually unrecognisable from the deluded JC from the beginning of the first series. I like the development of the John Henry character and the uncertainty of whose side the T-1000 is on.
I do miss some of the mystery that surrounded both Derek and Cameron in the first series, and feel that there are a lot of questions regarding their origins that were never answered. It also bothers me that Sarah’s role in the show has reduced significantly and her presence in a scene is usually a guarantee that someone is going to be annoyingly rapped on the knuckles, when it used to mean that the bad guys were about to get their backsides handed to them (I also miss her philosophical monologues, which have become ever less present).
I’m surprised that so few people have mentioned how TSCC saved the terminator, after the utterly disastrous T3. I was so relieved that someone had the common sense to completely ignore that ridiculous film and write a more fitting story where:
a) The world didn’t end in 2003 (this ruined an elaborately written and potentially believable plot by giving judgement day a date when you know it didn’t happen).
b) JC isn’t an incompetent jackass, who you wouldn’t trust to lead you to a casino in Las Vegas.
c) The story isn’t punctuated by annoying and tired jokes about “I’ll be back!”
I really hope someone makes a third season. It’ll be really annoying not to know what happens next.
By commandr at 8:30 AM ON 06/29/09
If you want to save TSCC, watch the online streaming episodes a lot! Network execs are paying close attention to online viewership in determining what shows to bring back. Dollhouse, despite having worse TV ratings, was chosen over TSCC because it had much higher online viewers. Seeing a surge in online viewership could help convince Fox TSCC is worth bringing back.
By P/O at 11:57 PM ON 07/01/09
HOW could you do this. That is not a happy thought. That is a true tease. during the movies and series we see what happens when john is taken under Sarah's firm hand. Now we have a chance to see the father/son kick in, and john with allison. You should be ashamed of yourselves for hurting your fans like this. Sure let that secret life of the american teenager get its third season but no not a good show like tscc. piss off.
By Ban_D at 11:33 AM ON 07/10/09
i hope when (not if, when) some other shows will make even much worse numbers, they'll reconsider this very bad decision about the cancelling at Fox.
Oh, and Summer Glau is cool as Allison too, but Cameron is even a more interesting character - so get her back too please. :-)
By frenchie at 6:04 PM ON 07/10/09
TSCC was the greatest tv series I ever saw. Unlike any other show I ever experienced I feel a sense of personal loss with the untimely end of this show
By jyoung@sssnet.com at 11:16 PM ON 07/28/09
This show needs to come back... Else I will have to turn off my tv. WB do a direct to DVD Season 3 Please!
By starkiller at 3:02 PM ON 08/01/09
I still miss the Sarah Connor Chronicles, I still want it back. I'll get whatever channel I need to get to see it and I'll buy the DVDs when they come out. I already pre-ordered season 2 and I'm bummed Amazon says I won't get them until October.
