Watch a 12-minute preview of Fox's Virtuality, from Battlestar's Ron Moore

Watch a 12-minute preview of Fox\'s \<i\>Virtuality\<\/i\>, from \<i\>Battlestar\<\/i\>\'s Ron Moore
From left: Kerry Bishe, Ritchie Coster, Eric Jensen, Nelson Lee, Joy Bryant, Clea Duvall, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Sienna Guillory, James D'Arcy, Jose Pablo Cantillo, Gene Farber, Omar Metwally and Jimmi Simpson (Kharen Hill for Fox)

Fox has posted a 12-minute preview of Virtuality, its upcoming two-hour sci-fi movie, which you can view after the jump.

Fox will air Virtuality on June 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, billing it as "an original science-fiction thriller movie," but it was originally commissioned as a pilot for a series.

Virtuality—from former Battlestar Galactica executive producer Ronald Moore and fellow alumnus Michael Taylor—follows the crew (including Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Sienna Guillory and James D'Arcy) of the Phaeton, a ship on a 10-year journey through space. To help pass the time and relieve stress, the crew members enjoy the benefits of a virtual-reality system, but things take a dark turn when a virus taints the program. Oh, and everything happening on the Phaeton is being filmed and aired back on Earth as a reality show.

wow, i'm sorry but it looks incrediblely boring

Wow. The pace looks deadly slow. Not to mention humorless and grim. Who directed this disaster?

By Herodotus at 8:25 AM ON 06/17/09

Wow. This looks so bland... And we got the token gay couple, the inclusion of a reality show inside the show... I can sum this up in one word: Boooooooring...

By nate9111 at 8:51 AM ON 06/17/09

By the way this was the worst 12mins I have ever spent and no gun to my head will make me watch the full two hours

By M at 10:17 AM ON 06/17/09

Hard to tell from a clip. Might be a interesting thinking character driven sci/fi drama. Since there's so very little worth watching on tv these days that it's hardly worth having cable at all there probably won't be anything else on when this airs so I'll probably watch it and see.

Looks like they took Odyssey 5, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and a reality show and mixed them together. Take out the reality show crap and I would like it more. It doesn't look all that exciting but I'll still watch it. At least it has Sienna Guillory and the guy from New Amsterdam.

I won't watch any previews, but I can't wait for this, considering Ron Moore and Michael Taylor have proven their writing capabilities with story and dialogue and especially their propensity for ambitious subject matter, unlike -- say -- Abrams and his hacks. It's so sad that Ron Moore's work hasn't been appreciated in movieland, and his work is always rewritten for a more commercial approach.

I can't wait!

I love what Ron did with BSG, and he worked on my favorite ST series DS9, but he brought with him the lamest part, THE HOLO-DECK. What are we going to do this week? I have no idea, anyone anyone? Well, we can always do another Holo-deck episode. Looks really bad.

So here fox will try to get back some of the money on the Pilot, because it is now a movie instead of a pilot, because it SUCKED and they couldn't make it work as a series, because it was lame. Just my opinion, but I could be wrong. I love Sci-Fi and the movie "sunshine" was really good, and this looks like a bad imitation.

I seem to be alone, but I'm looking forward to this. It's got a lot of promise. If it's a thorough and sloppy mind-frak, I'll be quite satisfied.

ill watch the pilot and if it goes series, ill give it a chance, but please tell me i wont be sitting trough an uber drama. ive been depressed once, real, paralyzing depression. i dont want to sit through a series that reminds me of that feeling, which BSG did.

really, i dont get why ppl want shows to be so extremely dark now a days. it's like if a show expresses any form of humor or slight comedy, suddenly someone accuses it of being a children's show.

By Alikhat at 3:13 PM ON 06/17/09

Looks to be worth checking out, if only due to being from Ron Moore. But, dear gawd, that background music is awful! I do hope they change that if it goes to series; listening to it is like being stuck in a New Age elevator.

By grendel at 3:27 PM ON 06/17/09

I like the actors and it looks great, but wow this story is not grabbing me. It's anti-grabbing me.

By david at 3:41 PM ON 06/17/09

Ron Moore has lost it.

By Paul at 3:45 PM ON 06/17/09

Can Ron moore just please go away already!

"everything happening on the Phaeton is being filmed and aired back on Earth as a reality show"

Seriously?

Ron expects people to stop watching "real" reality shows and watch a sci-fi reality show?

Really?

Who's the idiot who paid for this movie?

By Demi at 1:19 AM ON 06/18/09

Hard to tell from these disjointed clips, but it looks intriguing and open to many possibilities. Good cast.. I'll watch it...

By VW at 2:24 PM ON 06/18/09

So they called the spaceship after a far to expencive Volswagen?

By Sam at 5:17 PM ON 06/18/09

OMG this looks so awesome! Finally something to replace my Battlestar craving. I can't wait for the full movie.

By temptowner at 5:31 PM ON 06/18/09

I love it! Can't wait to see "what lurks beneath". There's a scene with a sinister looking dude eating with chopsticks as a few of the crew talk about strange stuff that's been happening. That scene says it all. This is not another one of those shows were the exciting moments you see in the previews are basically all the excitement there is. Moore and Taylor have and will continue to deliver!!! June 26th baby!! Yeah Boyeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

By jennino95 at 1:42 PM ON 06/19/09

@VW I think it was named after the son of the Sun in Greek mythology

By Lynn at 10:53 AM ON 06/30/09

I watched it. It did sort of get off to a slow start but it got better in the second half and left viewers hanging with an interesting mystery. I think it has potential and I'm sorry that, apparently, most people who watched found it boring.

By BoredViewer at 5:54 AM ON 07/04/09

This is not worth the reel it was filmed on. The end is senseless and stupid. The "relationships" are meaningless.
