Over the holiday weekend, we caught a performance of the new Creature From the Black Lagoon, a live-action musical stage adaptation of the classic 1954 sci-fi movie, at the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park, and we've got a few images for you, after the jump.
The 25-minute musical—subtitled "A Raging Rockin' Show"—features an original score, some lusty belting by its cast of attractive professionals, imaginative stagecraft (including a full-sized riverboat and a wirework "underwater" pas de deux) and a bit of cringe-worthy humor (it is, after all, a family show), as well as a great green singing Gill Man.
You can catch the show if you're at the theme park; it runs throughout the day.

This sounds like a hoot. I'm almost tempted to fly out to Anaheim to check it out.
I mean, how can you resist a "Creature" musical? That sounds sublimely silly!

"Almost as dumb as 'SyFy'."
AMEN! What an absolutely IDIOTIC name change that didn't even need to happen.
