Could a movie version of the vampire TV show Moonlight rise from the dead?

Could a movie version of the vampire TV show \<i\>Moonlight\<\/i\> rise from the dead?

The recent vampire craze born of Twilight and True Blood came a bit too late to save CBS' Moonlight: The vampire detective series was canceled after one season. But it won a Saturn Award for best series on DVD last week, and executive producer Harry Werksman offered fans some hope that a Moonlight movie could offer some closure.

"Well, we were setting up in the end of our first season that there was a coming war," Werksman said in an exclusive interview at the awards ceremony in Burbank, Calif. "There was the family from which Coraline came, and it was a royal bloodline of vampires that Mick had been brought into, very much unwanted on his part. I think what we were going to try and do is to have the movie encapsulate the entire second season of the coming war."

The series chronicled the casework of detective Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin), who could solve crimes committed by vampires. He was dealing with his own issues with an ex, Coraline (Shannyn Sossamon), who turned him without his consent, and a 400-year-old vamp (Jason Dohring), who butted in with underworld politics.

Of course, a movie would require the entire cast to return, and after the show's cancellation, they all booked new gigs. "You know, unfortunately, I think that everyone has kind of moved on," Werksman said.

One medium that does not need actors, however, is comic books. "No, they don't need actors," Werksman said. "We could always do comic books, graphic novels, that's true."

A movie is not out of the question, though, because lead actor O'Loughlin has told Werksman he's still interested. "I know I talked to Alex just a couple weeks ago, after Three Rivers got picked up, and I was congratulating him," he said. "He's like, 'When are we going to do the movie?' I said, 'I don't know, man. Any time you're ready.'"

Moonlight: The Complete Series is available on DVD; reruns currently air on SCI FI Channel Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

By greenhornet482 at 8:39 AM ON 07/01/09

I know it can be a comedy and Will Farrel can play the lead (NOT!)

By rickcard at 8:48 AM ON 07/01/09

Yes! Every time there is a really good sci-fi or fantasy show it gets cancelled even if it was doing well in the ratings. Heroes Stinks so don't count it. Make a Moonlight movie and while you're at it make a Now and Again movie. Both CBS shows were great.

By Syberwolf at 9:22 AM ON 07/01/09

Such a great show, I was surprised such a popular show was canceled. I hope they find a way to make the movie BUT only if they could get all the same actors to return.

By Cyberfranco at 9:56 AM ON 07/01/09

I just watched this show last week on DVD !! why was it canceled. I loved it and hope they will do that movie !!

By LizKS at 10:31 AM ON 07/01/09

I hope they get going on this movie soon. And I wish people would stop saying Moonlight is dead. It's not. It's alive in so many ways. We need this movie. The fans want it, the cast wants it what's the hold up? It definitely has to have the same cast though, Alex, Sophia, Jason, Shannyn, they all have to do this. I know they would, why wouldn't they? Lots of money to make and hearts to mend. PLEASE, make this movie, or give us back our show!!

By AngryJonny at 11:17 AM ON 07/01/09

Sophia Myles is so beautiful. Loved her in the Doctor Who episode "Girl in the Fireplace," but Shannyn Sossamon is such a weirdo; never cared for her.

By Overdamoon at 11:37 AM ON 07/01/09

Oh, how I would love to see a Moonlight movie made... sigh

I want me some Coraline and more backstories about Coraline's royal bloodline and more Josef too. A girl can only dream..

By patmoon at 11:59 AM ON 07/01/09

please make a moonlight movie and i hope true blood is good as it starts in the uk this month

By MoonlightMedic at 12:29 PM ON 07/01/09

oh PLEASE, with all the original cast

By Jo1027 at 12:35 PM ON 07/01/09

A Moonlight movie would be delightful. Hope this pans out. We fans deserve some closure.

By SparklyBird at 12:59 PM ON 07/01/09

I would much prefer to have the show back on TV. However a movie would at least give the fans some closure with the proviso that it had all of the original cast.

By joanie at 1:12 PM ON 07/01/09

I would love to see more Moonlight in any form.
I love Moonlight!

By Faye at 1:14 PM ON 07/01/09

A Moonlight movie would certainly be greeted with major enthusiasm by the show's devoted fans. But it has to be made in the next couple years and with the original cast. And no non-humans other than vampires. I realize the series isn't coming back but a movie is something and I suspect a lot of people will pay to see it more than once. Thanks.

By MyImmortal at 1:16 PM ON 07/01/09

Please NO movie - not with Harry Werksman writing it. I can't stand the whole Legion / vampire wars idea - not to mention another of Harry's "brilliant" ideas was to bring werewolves into Moonlight's second season. Moonlight is not Underworld!

Moonlight is a love story. The Moonlight universe is about vampires living and loving in our MODERN world. "Big" Moonlight stories (worthy of a movie) are not about ancient secret societies and vampire apocalypses - that's for Anne Rice or Buffy or Angel. Moonlight stories should be more personal.

A big Moonlight story could be about Coraline's family, their connection to Beth, the influence they had in history and what bad things they're up to today. And whatever they're up to now won't involve castles and cobwebs and alchemy, but science and technology and big business. "The Mortal Cure" hinted at that.

Although "The Mortal Cure" had many flaws in writing and execution, the ideas and themes behind the story is what Moonlight is about. If Moonlight returns as a movie, I hope they bring back its creators - Trevor Munson and Ron Koslow - so we get to see the story they wanted to tell.

Moonlight Movie - Wooooo Hooooooo!!!!!

By Tish S at 2:00 PM ON 07/01/09

I can't think of anyone that does not love Moonlight, and who would not want a ML Movie... Letting all know there is a Moonlight Movie Crusade happening and is circulating worldwide that began over at Alex O'Loughlin Online & is in the Permalinks under "We Still Believe In Vampires & Moonlight...so write to addresses provided throughout for that ML movie to happen...

By Casi22 at 3:07 PM ON 07/01/09

I totally agree with Myimmortal. Moonlight was first a love story! That was what made the show so amazing. My family are not fans of the genre in general. We loved this show because it was not "vampires" as usual. We have never been active fans of any show or cast, but this show really touched us. We made plans to be home to watch. Just since the cancellation I've turned over 20 people on to the show. All would love to see more Moonlight based in the original premise of Trevor Munson and Ron Koslow. Vampires existing in our Modern World. My first hope would be for a mini series, secondly for a Movie that would tie up the loose ends. I certainly hope in either case no additional "creatures" would be introduced.

By DAMADENEGRO at 3:16 PM ON 07/01/09

pleaseeeeeeeeeeee :)

By wwmickd at 3:26 PM ON 07/01/09

I think I'd watch anything the "real" or "unreal" world threw at Mick, Beth and Josef. These are amazing iconic characters and the overarching themes of love and friendship would work in any setting.

Plus sign me up for the comic.

By nate9111 at 3:38 PM ON 07/01/09

Was an ok series just ok its no firefly sci fi fans are crazy babies

By ellied at 4:03 PM ON 07/01/09

A Moonlight movie will be wonderful! But only if the original creators write the story, Trevor Munson and Ron Koslow. Moonlight is about love and not creatures of the underworld. Give me more Mick and Beth and their love story.

By MoonlightChances at 4:04 PM ON 07/01/09

I agree with the comments posted by MyImmortal. I am not interested in a Moonlight movie as described by Harry W.

I loved Moonlight, still love it, and was around for every episode when it first aired. I spent a lot of time in the online community of other Moonlight fans doing whatever we could to help promote the show on and offline.

Many of us are still fans of the cast and creative team, and follow their new projects. I wish the best for them all, and I am moving forward with them to their new shows/films.

I think the ship has sailed, and unless Trevor Munson and Ron Koslow were telling us they were being invited to bring Moonlight back with their original ideas...I just am not going to be interested in the project.

I have no interest in a Moonlight graphic novel or comic book. No interest in a Moonlight cartoon. I would have loved to see a season 2 on television, but with all the behind the scenes angst and turmoil, I think the opportunity slipped away.

I would rather close the book on Moonlight with Sonata than to watch a movie that will just leave more questions unresolved at the end about the characters and story lines from the first 16 episodes...

By darkstarrising at 4:15 PM ON 07/01/09

I, too, would love to see a movie, one that provides some degree of closure from where the series left off, with the potential for sequels, should they be warranted. However, I also agree with myimmortal and others that Moonlight is, first and foremost, a love story. It's about two star-crossed lovers that try to overcome all obstacles to be together. Couching the story in the present day world of vampires, as Trevor Munson did, gave the show a dark edginess that appealed to fans of the vampire genre.

What also made the series work was the great chemistry among the lead actors, who brought their characters to life. For a movie to succeed, the original cast would have to sign on. No one else can bring the brooding, lonely Mick St. John to life the way Alex O'Laughlin did. No one else can give Josef his snarkiness the way Jason Dohring did. Sophia Myles brought a sense of fun along with her beauty to make Beth who she is. Shannyn Sossamon gave Coraline her dark, sensual, seductive nature.

Finally, consider the nature of the show before you decide on a storyline for the movie. Don't make it a caricature of itself. Please.

By moonlightfan78 at 4:35 PM ON 07/01/09

Please, Please, Please give us a moonlight movie!! love this show, would buy my tickets months in advance. original cast please with trevor munson and ron koslow please.

By kc at 4:45 PM ON 07/01/09

I would be grateful about a movie, but is this just for fan reactions? :O the movie should include the original cast, and continue the storyline it left off at., not diving into some crazy one. and no comic books plz!

By Moonlight&Magnolias at 4:57 PM ON 07/01/09

I agree with so many others on this thread. Though I am a fan of the vampire genre, I am a fan because of the symbolism and the metaphor of the vampire - I didn't watch Moonlight because of the mythology of the show.

I watched it for Mick and Beth. Alex O'Loughlin and Sophia Myles, as well as Jason Dohring and so many of the other cast members, captivated me with their way of making vampires seem *modern*.

I was also drawn to the unusual look to a vampire show - instead of gloomy and dark, the world of Moonlight was sunny and bright punctuated by darkness.

So if it is the intention of a Moonlight movie to feature The Legion, werewolves, any sort of war between Coraline's family and the vampires of LA, etc. - count me out. Focus on what drew so many of us to Moonlight - the relationship between Mick and Beth.

By lanouette at 5:19 PM ON 07/01/09

Moonlight is running in France since this week and have great audience. I hope my dream come true with the Moonlight movie

By vampout at 5:22 PM ON 07/01/09

I too totally agree with MyImmortal. I am so hoping for a Moonlight movie but only if the original creators, Trevor Munson and Ron Koslow, are back. Moonlight is a love story. We need to keep the magic that Trevor and Ron created.

By ITT at 5:34 PM ON 07/01/09

It is interesting actually, how I have recently been in a discussion with several others about how the Moonlight we truly loved and cared about basically ended after ep. 12 - the same time that Munson & Koslov exited. What came after, when it was helmed by Werksman almost seemed like a different show. It had a different focus, different themes, the noir was gone....

So if a movie would indeed come to fruition, then the first thing that would need to be decided would be WHAT Moonlight the movie would be about: Would it be Munson & Koslov's Moonlight or would it be a movie about whatever show Werksman was at the helm of?

(And frankly, like MyImmortal, Nana and many others here I'm not that interested in watching the latter.)

By Anthony at 5:39 PM ON 07/01/09

I really liked that show..Alex was great in it...and the blonde is hot.

By FKFanLHobbs29 at 6:02 PM ON 07/01/09

I think a Moonlight Movie would be great, but unlike several of the fans above who want closure there those of us who don't want closure but raather see the many stories continue in more movies instead of just one movie.
I'd like to see this movie get production underway staring our entire cast Alex O'Loughlin, Jason Dorhing., Sophia Myles, Shannyn Sossaman as well the supporting cast of David Blue, Jacob Vargas, Eric Winters, Abigail Spencer, other supporting cast members. While I would prefer Trevor Munson and Ron Koslow to be at the helm I think it would work if we had writers Ethan Erwin, Kira Synder and Jill Blotevogel on board as well because they wrote some the best episodes of Moonlight.
I hope that the powers that be are really listeing to us the fans this time because we really do want a Moonlight Movie if we can't have a second season

By chloe at 6:17 PM ON 07/01/09

Finally...someone has (hopefully) rubbed their two functioning brain cells together and created a spark of sense! There is still a vast audience craving Moonlight...as evidenced by the continuing fascination with True Blood, Twilight, etc. It goes without saying that CBS really dropped the ball in canceling the show...Moonlight was on the cutting edge of the current vampire craze sweeping the nation right now. Please, don't just "think" about making the Moonlight movie...MAKE THE MOVIE!!! There is a built in audience, a pile of money to be made, what more do you want? By the way, I plan to be the first in line at the movie theatre when it come out so people,,,the line begins right behind me...GOT IT! GOOD!!

By sonny at 7:18 PM ON 07/01/09

Moonlight was such a good show, loved really would have loved a second or third season. CBS should really have saved it instead of putting some crappy show on that they cancelled three episodes into it season. Moonlight at least did good enough for a full season. Somebody work on this please. Movie, show anything would be awesome

By Moonlightsonata at 7:37 PM ON 07/01/09

I don't share Harry W. vision of a Moonlight movie similar to many others. It was the original creators like Trevor and Ron and writers like Jill and Ethan and others who made the first 12 episodes of Moonlight so great. Nonetheless if we ever want to have any hope of a movie, we can't come off sounding like crazies and trashing people in the industry who we don't care for. Not sure if anyone from Sci Fi is interested but a Moonlight made for TV movie would have a ready audience and be a major success. An actual movie would be even better but maybe it is cost prohibitive. Thanks.

By heather at 7:42 PM ON 07/01/09

Oh please make a movie of MOONLIGHT but keep it what it was "love between human and vampire." with PI, CSI overtones. I have purchased every Vampire show since Moonlight left the scene, just to get a fix but none satisfy -- Twilight (lame); True Blood (sucks, litterly), Blood Ties (pretty good); Nick Knight (good); Forever Knight (ending horrible); Interview with a Vampire (good), but still need Moonlight (best of the best). Which I have watched over and over and on SCIFI. Please someone finish or continue this VAMPIRE "love" story. This show was GREAT for families.

By TCMLfan at 7:43 PM ON 07/01/09

I really hope they put together a movie. This was such a great franchise with so much untapped potential. The entire cast is so great together and the stories were really getting interesting. My hope is that a movie makes someone want to pick up the show and put it back on tv. As much as I want a movie and would be glad to see it there's still so many stories left to be told through a series.

By Tink at 7:45 PM ON 07/01/09

ITA, MyImmortal. I couldn't agree more and couldn't have said it better myself, so I will let your well stated words speak for me, as well. More Moonlight, Yes. The whole ridiculous Legion Storyline, No, No, NO!!

By heather at 8:01 PM ON 07/01/09

Moonlight a movie or second season YES. Please we have begged for so long to get someone to listen. CBS brains were not in gear when they stopped this fantastic Vampire show -- a love story between human and vamp. Twilight; True Blood; Blood Ties; Nick Knight ; Forever Knight; Interview with a Vampire have not satisfied the need my need to watch and re-watch Moonlight.

By sisterwinchester at 8:52 PM ON 07/01/09

OMG Yes!
make the movie, give us some excitement, some action, some romance and some much needed closer.
long live Mick, Beth, Josef, Logan, Guillermo, and Coraline (yes even her... lol)

By Caro at 9:13 PM ON 07/01/09

Moonlight & Alex O'Loughlin fans are still here! We still want, no DEMAND our movie! If Alex is for it....then it will happen! Give us back our MickBeth & Josef & Co.

POWER TO THE PASSIONATE!!!!!

By sherrilina at 9:20 PM ON 07/01/09

Personally I have never understood the whole "the last four episodes weren't the 'true show'" complaint; I thought they were fantastic, especially the finale, and would have loved to see a season 2 exploring the impending conflict, with Mick and Josef in NYC starting over, Beth having to choose sides, etc. I would love a movie showing some of that and closing those story-lines--but no werewolves indeed!
No comic books please, the Buffy and Angel ones are bad enough. I don't think a story that is begun in one medium can ever be well-transferred to a different medium, something which applies to books to comic as well.

And sorry Sciwire, but the "vampire craze" was already quite evident at the time Moonlight's fate was being decided, but CBS didn't care and chose to can it anyway--so said "vampire craze" didn't come too late, it's just that CBS didn't care enough about it...

By ElCajonFan at 10:44 PM ON 07/01/09

Bring on the cast and Ron and Trevor and all of us will be happy ML lovers.

By Silverchex at 11:46 PM ON 07/01/09

Tried to leave a comment early this morning but it wouldn't go through. I want a movie, YES, YES, YES! And so does Alex. I think it would be foolish to not want one. Season 2 disappeared a long time ago. The only chance of there ever being anything else has to start with a movie. As far as a story line that is out of our hands. I just want more of Mick and the gang back on the screen!

By MSJpi at 11:59 PM ON 07/01/09

a moonlight movie would be AMAZING!! and, much deserved!! a great show that was cancelled way too early!

By Snowfox at 12:05 AM ON 07/02/09

Yes! Yes! Yes! Please. The Show does deserve a movie at least. It was canceled way before its time.

By bloodlink at 12:07 AM ON 07/02/09

I loved Moonlight - all of it, even after it 'changed'. So if you ask me... Even though I would prefer something more along the original story lines... for me, the big picture is - ANY MOONLIGHT MOVIE IS BETTER THAN NOTHING EVER AGAIN. :)

By S N at 1:04 AM ON 07/02/09

I would love to see MOONLIGHT on the big screen...where I

feel it belonged all along. Hopefully, it would be Alex

O'Loughlin with Sophia Myles as Beth. I can't even imagine

another 'Beth'!

And it would be extra wonderful with Jason Dohring and

Shannyn Sossamon!

As for the writers, it would be only right to have Trevor

Munson and Ron Koslow involved (bring back the Film

Noir!!!), with Jill Blotevogel (Women love this show! Need

more women writers!!!!)

As for Harry Werksman, let's not forget he helped write

"Fated to Pretend", one of the most romantic episodes ever!

I could care less if the writers want to add wolves! Hopefully,

the wolves will look realistic and not CGI cartoons!

Here's hoping.....

By chelsea at 1:06 AM ON 07/02/09

Please make moonlight movie! they owe us that!!.After getting rid of a very good popular show at least give us a movie to finish the story!!!!..Pleasee!!!

By kelcouch at 2:07 AM ON 07/02/09

I would love a Moonlight Movie, but please keep it in line with the series.... the love story between MickBeth needs to be the focal point and everything else can fit in around it.

MOONLIGHT! MOONLIGHT! MOONLIGHT!

By wicked4u at 2:43 AM ON 07/02/09

YES YES YES, a moonlight movie would be absolutely fantastic, i dont agree with Harry, i think if it was pitched to the original cast, they will jump at the chance as im sure they can see the fan base the tv series had, and still has....

By littlemissninja at 3:18 AM ON 07/02/09

OH MY GOSH!!!!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GIVE US A MOONLIGHT MOVIE!!!!!

We've been waiting and never given up hope!!!!

Mick and Beth must have more to say! Come'on cast, WE WANT OUR MOONLIGHT BACK!!!!

By tecc at 8:25 AM ON 07/02/09

After seeing Harry's "vision"...please no! : No legions, werewolves, not even bloodlines or wars with Cora's family.

I don't even care who writes it as long as it is well written with no glaring plotholes and the focus is on what Moonlight is about (IMO) - the MickBeth love story.

By TeamDonavynn at 8:29 AM ON 07/02/09

So glad to hear that Alex is still interested in doing a movie!!! Makes me so very happy!!! I want a movie so bad. Would love a second season etc but I'll take what I can get. There is so much left hanging for us fans. And not just w/ Mick and Beth. So many other shows got picked up again after being cancelled, I will always secretly hope ours would be one too. MOVIE PLEASE!!! WE NEED CLOSURE!

By TeamDonavynn at 8:33 AM ON 07/02/09

Someone mentioned that CBS didn't care about the vamp craze! You are so right! 8 million viewers is never enough for them inspite of the fact that many shows on many other networks stay on the air for years w/ far less viewers than that. We want our Moonlight back!!! We told Nina to pay attention to the attention vamps were getting that she wouldn't be sorry, but she didn't listen!!! Please someone listen to us now!!!

By Lynn at 8:35 AM ON 07/02/09

I would love to have a Moonlight movie but only with the original creators Trevor Munson and Ron Koslow as the writers....not Harry.

By StormyGoddess at 9:30 AM ON 07/02/09

I agree with many on this board, Moonlight was first and foremost a love story. Don't mess it up with a bunch of werewolves and crap. Answer all the questions left hanging in the air with Sonata and then think about multiple sequels! Sounds like a great idea to me! Just don't try to turn it into Underworld. That's not what Moonlight is. VSRRR!!!

By mel9116 at 10:03 AM ON 07/02/09

Wow, here we go again :-) After lots of teeth knashing and begging we might actually get a movie. That would be great. I would love closure to the story lines left open but it would have to be with the original cast.

By wwmickd at 10:40 AM ON 07/02/09

I do want to add my support for the original vision of Moonlight, as shaped by Trevor Munson and Ron Koslow.

I do think that the characters, Mick, Beth and Josef could face a number of different settings and situations. As much as we say we want the Moonlight of episodes 1-12, to be true to that vision, there is no happy ending for Mick and Beth.

I think a wild action ride could work, but like the Dark Knight only if the core of the story was the love story. (Sorry Batman fans but Maggie Gyllenhaal and Aaron Eckhart made the movie worth watching. I was texting my friends praying for the movie to get better when Batman was running around with his head fixed firmly to the front. The problem... no man behind the mask.)

Episodes 13-16 tried to close that distance and failed. In part by breaking the rules for the character of Beth. Which is why the vision provided by Munson and Koslow is needed for a movies.

What continuity we did have was provided by the actors after the original writers left.

Those of you who dismiss a graphic novel... comics today can tell stories with the same depth as any other medium. Not only that it can take the time to tell the story of these characters in a way that provides insight and emotional depth. WORD/THOUGHT BALLOONS.

A comic especially a web comic could provide continuity, and a dose of Moonlight while we wait for a movies.

Trevor and Ron again please. The visual sense of Trevor's Mick Angel story is very much SinCity all black, white, red and noir. We could find out more about Mick's story, his life with Coraline, Beth's investigations.

A comic book is incredible economic (I don't just mean money... but visually) means of story telling.

Comic now please. DC comics are owned by Warner Bros.

A movie might be nice, however sometimes, most times a series doesn't translate well into big screen, How about a limited run mini-series ?
i.e. Three 2hour episodes ?? With all of the original cast and crew Of Course!!

By MoonlightChances at 11:31 AM ON 07/02/09

Would be nice to hear directly from Alex about his interest in filming a Moonlight movie.

There has been so much hearsay, and gossip since the show ended.

Everyone is getting excited about something we were told Alex said.

As a follow-up to this article, how about an interview request to Alex to see if he might want to give you a quote or two about all of this ?

By Anastasia at 12:18 PM ON 07/02/09

When you can watch an entire season in one day, that's when you know it's something special. I think CBS and Tina will really regret dropping this amazing show. With that said, I would much rather have a second season, but I would be satisfied with a movie (with the original cast of course). I really fell in love with this show and I'm super disappointed that they're cancelling it. So I'm begging you... BRING MOONLIGHT BACK! Please, please, please!

By Margroks at 1:45 PM ON 07/02/09

I'd love to see either a movie or a mini-series as long as the focus is on the CONTINUING romance between Mick and Beth. Moonlight succeeded in the hearts of its fans because it was a love story set in very unusual circumstances with plenty of heroic action. The ensemble cast was perfectly chosen and had great chemistry, especially Mick, Beth and Josef and if offered up a unique vision of a different vampire world, both serious and humorous, and nothing would please me more than to see it back on screen in some form.

While the Morgan/Coraline-heavy eps starting with Ringer were not the best, partly because even a hint of Mick having any remaining attraction for her, after what she did to Beth whom Mick is supposed to be in love with and protecting was distasteful and partly because Mick should have figured out that Morgan had to be Coraline right away. They could have found a better way to have Coraline appear dangling the cure in front of Mick than that muddled plot. Likewise, Beth running back to Josh after New York was all wrong and also out of character and hopefully such idiocies will not be a part of any further Moonlight stories.

At least seeing Mick and Beth really coming together in the latter part of the season was some comfort and I really enjoyed the last four eps even if number 15 did have a rather large plot hole; I didn’t find them out of line with the earlier part of the series at all. Besides, who doesn't want to see what happened behind that closed door at the end of Sonata?

So this is what they have to keep in mind if any sequels are to succeed: same cast and NO backtracking on the MickBeth relationship which should remain solid even if they are still finding their way as a couple and lots of action as they fight for justice in a scary world. And hopefully we’ll get more Josef who was such a wonderful, snarky twist on the cliché of the older and wiser vampire/mentor.

So if Alex O’Loughlin can find the time in his very busy schedule, since Three Rivers is bound to be a huge hit, I hope they go for it!

By Carol1 at 2:42 PM ON 07/02/09

I would love a movie...BUT,definetly NO werewolves or legion super wars with the Duvalls. Just give us what attracted most of us to the show in the first place. The struggles and romance of Mick and Beth, with a heavy dose of Josef snark. Ron and Trevor have to be a part of this movie. I would also love Jill B. to help write. IMO, she "got" the MickBeth romance,

I want a good mix of MickBeth romance more than anything but along with normal crimes to solve, vampires lining up to take sides for and against the Duvalls and their cronies might be alright in moderation and the cure should probably come into play again at some point. I wouldn't want the entire plot about vampire wars nor would I want the primary locale to change from LA. (Come on...leave the Fortress of Style behind?) but they don't have to stay solely in LA.

I am grateful we got what closure we did in Sonata but there is a lot yet to answer, so much still for Beth to learn about Mick and vampires, and the list has to be dealt with. ADA Talbot would clearly be investigating the people on the list and trying to get info from Beth plus he would still be wanting answers about what really happened during the rescue in Fated to Pretend as well as who was helping Mick since I can't imagine he knew it was Josef. There is still a wealth of possibilities and plenty to keep Moonlight fans happy!

By bristow at 3:27 PM ON 07/02/09

While I will never understand CBS shortsightedness in canceling Moonlight in the first place I too would love to see all the questions that left fans hanging at the end of Sonata answered and I think a feature film, mini –series or TV Movie would be the best avenues for seeing that happen.

Nevertheless, I also do not want to see it lose what drew me and so many other devoted fans to this incredibly romantic series it’s humor, romance and new twist on the vampire lore. And with the original cast in place there no actors that could equally match the chemistry of Alex O’ Loughlin, Sophia Myles , Jason Dohring and Shannon Sossamon they breathed life into the show and these characters.

I want to see Mick and Beth’s relationship explored in this movie as well as who sent the list to Talbot exposing nearly every vamp in LA bring in Trevor Munson and Ron Koslow to develop the story and screenplay.

I miss the show and would to see it brought back in one form or another. I will anxiously await any further news on the movie front.

By audreyd at 3:41 PM ON 07/02/09

Since they are not bringing back Moonlight for a second season, then they should make a movie to finish off the story that they started. I think Alex would be up for a movie after he finishes The Back-Up Plan and starts the Three Rivers series. I've got my fingers crossed.

By sherbears at 4:23 PM ON 07/02/09

Please, Please make a movie. I need to know more of what would have happened next. I loved this show and still watch the re-runs every week.

By Barbara S. at 4:30 PM ON 07/02/09

It would be the answer to my prayer if they brought MOONLIGHT back in any form on the visual media. I never watched the show when it was on CBS because network tv never seemed to have anything I thought was worth watching. I bought the DVD set to tide me over while I was waiting for the 2nd season of TRUEBLOOD. I was totally hooked after the first episode and when I watched all 16 I was screaming for more and was totally devastated when I discovered it had been cancelled. They have got to continue with that show exactly the way it is and with the same cast. I have worn out my DVD's and thinking about getting another set. MOONLIGHT is an entrancing, captivating romantic show with beautiful characters who capture your heart and imagination and to have it back in a visual form continuing all the romance, excitement and adventures by these wonderful characters with Alex at the helm would make my year and many more to come.

Bring it on! There are so many stories left to be told in Moonlight. Besides it left the viewers just hanging.
It was cut before its time. Now we can't get enough of the vamp stories! So I say again Bring it on, make the movie!

By AlexOLoughlinFan at 10:59 PM ON 07/02/09

Moonlight, in any way, shape or form would be a blessing to all the fight-weary fans who've begged for more and struggled to make sense out of the cancellation in the first place.

SO many plot twists and unfinished storylines to explore... I urge the writers to develop a storyarc that could provide the impetus toward even more Moonlight, should the ever-important numbers help prove to the media moguls that we do, indeed, love our Moonlight and will follow it wherever they take it. Agree with all who insist that the original cast would be the only acceptable way to go, with as much of the original behind-the-scenes creative team as possible. THEY know what the fans wanted in a vampire-genre storyline... and there shouldn't be any "Jericho-style" sabotage to taint our beloved Moonlight.

But, we all have to cope with the time-honoured formula that says consummating an on-screen relationship is series suicide, so... keep that wonderful on-screen chemistry between ALL our cast, and give us the angst that works...

And yes, will only commence the official Squeefest once Alex tells us it's a "go", and Sophia, Jason, et al are on board as well.

Please, don't jerk our chains just to get the numbers for your blog/site. Please let us know this is for real. We fans have been a loyal bunch, but we've really endured quite enough. Thanks for the hope, tho, just in case this really IS an honest appeal to the fans for support. If you film it, we will come.

YES!! WE WANT MORE! A movie would definitely help, and I will drag all my friends with me to watch it (even the ones that haven't heard of the series)! if they make enough money after the movie they might even consider reviving the show :D

I just finished watching moonlight this week and was severly disappointed it did not get picked up.....a movie would be amazing!!! But I agree-no werewolves.

By Silvery Moon at 9:55 AM ON 07/03/09

Would love to get more Moonlight in any “live” form, certainly not in comics for me. First choice season 2 or mini series. Second choice a movie (TV or Theatre) where the arc is written with several in mind i.e., Star Wars Trilogy or Indiana Jones Series. I have never been an active fan of any show or cast but Moonlight ‘touched people” of all ages. It was a love story and a drama with humor. The cast was perfect in their roles playing their parts to perfection and actually breathing life into them. People have even commented on the sets, the camera work and how beautiful our city looked. The whole premise of this program was a modern day vampire story, missing many of the gimmicks of the genre in general. It appealed to me (became my all time favorite show) and I am not a fan of the genre in general. For me anything would need the complete original cast and for the story to pick up where we left off tying it to the TV series. Also, what I think set this apart from other “vampire shows” is the storyline was great without the necessity of other creatures. Hoping we somehow get more!!

By LilBlueEyes at 10:53 AM ON 07/03/09

Moonlight the show my family got so into that we made plans around viewing. Dinner, shopping, errands were all planned so that we would be at our respective homes at 9 PM. I first saw the show starting with Episode 9. We enjoyed it so much that we just had to find out how it all began. During the writers strike we got on the internet, found out that the early episodes were available from Amazon.box and ordered them all. We had never purchased a TV show prior to getting Moonlight. I have never written about any show prior to this one. When the regular DVD’s became available, we purchased several (the only TV series we own). We miss Moonlight as much today as we did a year ago and would support anything all the original actors and writer’s come up with to continue the story. I agree with many others in that we only need our “vampires and humans” in the storylines.

By nerak109 at 11:48 AM ON 07/03/09

Like many people I was heartbroken when Moonlight was cancelled. The scope for the characters is huge. A movie/mini-series would make millions of us happy as we would finally have some answers to the many questions that were raised in the series. Please listen to what we, the customers, actually want to see on our screens. Thanks to Scifi for keeping our dream alive............

By CaLou at 11:56 AM ON 07/03/09

The acting, the chemistry, the Noir style, the sets! The whole premise of the program. What was not to like? The show was amazing! I’m so glad it won the Saturn Award. I wish it had received more recognition earlier. A shame CBS did not promote it better. I found it by accident just before the writers strike and I used to watch CBS from 4 PM until midnight and never saw it advertised. Would love to see anything we can get with all the original actors and stories written continuing the saga. To me it is the love story that has the most appeal with the detective-crime story being secondary.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE MOONLIGHT!!!

By Thalia61 at 10:29 PM ON 07/03/09

I would love a movie!!!!!! Those of us that are "war weary" will accept just about anything Moonlight.

Since Trevor and Ron were not really able to see their true vision brought to life, it would be great to see the REAL Moonlight. However, I would be more than happy to see Harry's story continue as well.

WHAT DO WE WANT?????
A MOVIE, MOVIE, MOVIE!!!
WHEN DO WE WANT IT????
NOW, NOW, NOW!!!!

I DEFINITELY WOULD - pay to see a Moonlight Motion Picture! I went to see Twilight while in mourning and looking to feel better... it just didn't DO IT for me! If it had been Moonlight - I would'a been howling with delight all the way home!

By LadyCat at 6:10 PM ON 07/04/09

Ohhh yes, either a movie, or a continuation of the series (possibly, new location, etc, etc). The series has some untapped potential, and CBS messed up cancelling it. With the vampire craze gaining momentum.....I hope the powers-that-be will DO something with this great series. With the entire cast, Mick, Beth, Josef, Coraline, Logan, etc, etc.....bring no one NEW to it.

By Marisa at 9:29 PM ON 07/04/09

Yes please! is the best news in a long time about Moonlight, it's just what I was expecting to hear, and after having achieved the Saturn Award for Best Series on DVD, it deserve it much more.
After that CBS committed the great mistake of unfairly cancel Moonlight, make a movie continuation of the wonderful love story of Mick & Beth and the rest of the plots that were left without conclude is the best solution, because a second season already I seems impossible given that its actors have continued with his new projects, but reunite them for a movie, even in the medium term, I think if possible, and the most important thing is that its main protagonist, Alex O'Loughlin is ready to do so.
I will cross my fingers for which this wonderful idea be a reality.
I miss Moonlight very much.

By Arksardan at 4:56 AM ON 07/05/09

I wonder if anyone has pondered whether ADD is started by fickle TV networks that keep starting and never finishing shows?

Moonlight is a great series and deserves to be fed, nurtured and allowed to grow up to be as alive or undead as it wants to be!

A movie would be a great way to expand and continue the Moonlight storyline and universe. Please make it happen!!

By rubyaz at 9:18 PM ON 07/05/09

It would be nice to have a Moonlight movie. It was a great show...loved the characters, the story line, even the scenery shots. Everything about the show was captivating.Too bad it was cancelled so soon. I would have liked to know how it would have progressed. As much as I like True Blood,it still isn't as good as what Moonlight was or could have been given the chance!

By Suz55 at 9:26 PM ON 07/05/09

Would love to see a Moonlight mini series there were so many unanswered question at the end of the first season. Too many to list. Moonlight had a good story line and a great cast. The DVD sales and award should tell TPTB there is a market for Moonlight.

By Silverchex at 9:45 PM ON 07/05/09

Ok, I've been pushing for this for a long time and its awesome to hear that Alex and Harry want it too. I know Trevor does also.

I hope everyone keeps pushing for the movie so we can get more of Moonlight...

More Moonlight please ... please !!! In any form ... mini serie , small screen or big screen is fine with me !!!

By Sage at 11:55 PM ON 07/05/09

A movie to conclude the series and tie up all the loose ends would be brilliant, if all the actors/actresses are in it. All in all, anymore of Moonlight is appreciated, as it was indeed a great series that should have stayed put for more than just one season. Cheers.

By BlBunny at 12:53 AM ON 07/06/09

We will bring our friends, co-workers, aunts, uncles, and cousins!!

And those DVD's make great Christmas gifts!

By Martha at 2:11 AM ON 07/06/09

I hope Alex's success in upcoming Three Rivers and Backup Plan will propel Joel Silver to consider a MOONLIGHT movie. I think an audience would be there for more of our beloved vampire romance with humor and action. More fans are discovering Moonlight every day and falling in the love it.

I don't mind the "legion" storyline but it shouldn't lose sight of what made Moonlight great which was discovering the man inside the vampire and his realtionship with Beth, Josef and Coraline.

By moonlightfan78 at 10:33 AM ON 07/06/09

Please, Please, Please make a moonlight movie. I love this series. i am a huge vampire van and watched the remake of dark shadows when it came out but no vampire story has captured my interest and my heart like this one. Please bring back my moonlight

By Josef's Vampiress at 12:58 PM ON 07/06/09

More Moonlight, in any form, would be wonderful. I'll endure wolves and any other creatures, to have more of our characters and their stories. Keep the romance, and perhaps add more explosions, car crashes, and other special effects to attract a wider audience--whatever it takes to get more Moonlight! To me, it's already a classic!

By Josef's Vampiress at 1:18 PM ON 07/06/09

I'll endure wolves and just about any other creature, to get more Moonlight, but please keep the romance! Perhaps, add more explosions, car crashes, and other special effects to attract a wider audience.

To me, Moonlight is already a classic! I watched it when it originally aired. I've watched the reruns and bought several of the DVDs. Come on, Joel Silver, do whatever it takes to bring back our beloved characters-- brilliantly portrayed by Alex, Sophia, Jason, Shannyn and all the other originals--and our show!!!

By helloeeze at 6:21 PM ON 07/06/09

No TV show has ever affected me like Moonlight. I'm still in love with it, still watch, stil talk about it.....still dream about it.*sigh* I'd love a movie with a 30 foot tall Mick! Oh, YEAH!!

By Laura at 6:40 PM ON 07/06/09

Yes!!!!! Please make a Moonlight movie with ALL the original cast. (couldn't care if Coralline was in it though). No other show or movie has ever effected me as much as Moonlight. It grabs you the first minute you are into it. It was a big mistake for CBS to cancel it, and I think they feel it. Please write to the WB people who own the rights and to Joel Silver who own the rights to the characters and has first option to make that movie. Then, when the movie is a hit, maybe some smart network will bring it back to primetime. MOONLIGHT FOREVER!!!!!!

By margroks at 10:12 AM ON 07/07/09

Consummating a romance doesn’t have to mean series suicide IF it’s handled properly. Onscreen romances provide automatic tension as the audience waits for the couple to finally get together but once that happens the writers have to get a lot more creative. Moonlight was better than most about giving us realistic reasons (Mick’s awful relationship with Coraline, his non-con turning, self loathing, and fear of hurting Beth) behind Mick’s reluctance to become romantically involved with Beth just as Beth being already involved with someone else was a valid reason (though that was dragged out too long in the end).

Coraline’s return as Morgan burned up too much screen time (watching Mick interact with Morgan was boring and pointless), as did Beth’s inexplicable running back to Josh after New York (when she should logically and emotionally responded positively to Mick’s tentative overture there); I didn’t understand that at all and it seemed a retcon of her feelings and her character to have her behave that way. The writers seemed to be stretching to keep Mick and Beth apart at that point, possibly due to this old writer’s tale, the idea that consummation can ruin things.

I wondered if they rushed the MickBeth-finally-together in Sonata because they knew the show wasn’t returning or if they were simply brave enough to go against tradition but I’m glad they did. When, in Fated to Pretend, Mick gave up his humanity, the one thing he had dreamed of for thirty-three years, to save Beth, there was no going back-for him or for her and that consummation had to happen sometime soon and even though things got a bit off track in Sonata (Beth’s freak out at the end was a little odd) they did get it right in the end. It made sense at that point and it would be a betrayal of that moment if the producers backtracked, tainting any further story if they did. Once a couple is together there are still plenty of hurdles for them to overcome (and this is especially true of a vampire-human relationship) but smart writing is the key here. Stupid plots and bad writing (frog-eating clones on Lois & Clark are a prime example) are what kills a series, not consummating a relationship.

Moonlight brought us an innovative view of the vampire world which deserves further exploration. There are so many questions which need to be answered; so many things we want to discover about that world and how this unusual couple fit into it that there should be no problem keeping the relationship and the story fresh and exciting.

By LaVaughn at 3:22 PM ON 07/07/09

Please consider making a Moonlight movie! This show was so fantastic on so many levels....there was so much that the writers could have done with this show. The stellar cast was perfect, the romance, the action, the suspense...Alex O"Loughlin himself was a reason to watch it! The whole cast was great, but it was the love story between Mick and Beth that kept bringing me back, and back each week!

By Laura at 5:02 PM ON 07/07/09

I couldn't agree with you more margroks. What was that frong thing all about in Lois and Clark? Moonlight was great. It deserves to come back. There is still too much left unsaid and done. We need to know what happens when that door closes. Will Mick and Beth stay together? I think down the road Mick should turn Beth so they could be together, and not because she has a mortal wound. It should be of her own free will and because of her love and desire to be with Mick forever. The executives over at the WB and Joel Silver should be reading everyone's comments and seeing how much the show is still missed and talked about after a year and a half. They won't have to worry too much about spending money promoting it. We are all here anxiously awaiting its return. They would have a guaranteed hit on their hands whether it be in the movies or back on primetime. Sci-Fi please put it back on Friday nights. Moonlight was and is the greatest show. It has everything, romance, drama a great cast. Bring it back!!!!!!!1

I must be in the minority over this, but I LOVED the Coraline story arc. The angle with her coming back and the "cure" for vampirism was a completely original twist for vampire lore and greatly appreciated.

The series died an untimely death. I really wish the vampire trend had come sooner. The series helped me survive a period of unemployment, it totally brought a smile to my face, and I looked forward to every Friday. In this gloomy economic period, what the public wants is FUN and FANTASY!

Please bring the original cast back for a movie!!!! Or hell, bring back a pared down series for SyFy, located in Toronto or New York to keep costs down. I think the series would be a great fit for what SyFy is trying to do with their rebranding.

By Nancy at 2:53 PM ON 07/08/09

I would LOVE to see a Moonlight movie! I just hope they keep it like the TV show. That's what everybody fell in love with...MickBeth and all of the great characters. Could a really popular movie lead to a new series??:) Dare we dream??

By emaynar at 9:16 PM ON 07/08/09

Moonlight was an intensely emotional and absorbing show. The storylines were innovative and unanticipated. The actors make a story live. In this case, the actors Alex O'loughlin and Sophia Myles brought truth to the characters and the stories being played out. I would like to see Moonlight brought back as a series but I will settle for a movie.

By Sasha_Neon at 8:22 PM ON 07/09/09

Ok, the skinny.

I HATE mainstream Television and would rather watch a show on a serial killer to know what he ate for breakfast before he hacked up someone than to watch what we are being fed on "regular" channels.

So, one day, I am watching Sci-Fi (now SyFy - good lord) and see the previews for "Moonlight" and I get all tingly. I say to myself, "a show I can finally watch???, wow". why? Because, the lead actor who plays Mick St.John made me believe he was really a sexy vampire and that folks is hard to do.

I watch the series, miss the last 3 episodes and now i am like, "WHOA, WHAT DO U MEAN ITS C-A-N-C-E-L-L-E-D!!!!!"

Personally, I think our heads have been played with enough when we are told that 'reality' t.v. is good t.v. and watching shows on the meltdowns of human beings that purge/binge eat to stay thin so men can oogle them & fantasize about them while some woman try to kill themselves to be like is supposed to be good television.... u wish paleaseee.

Then Along comes a show that captures even my limited attention span and they rape me by taking it off the air just as it was getting realllllllly good by trying to sell me a $1.00 story - some lame b.s. - about CBS could not pull it off after only one season...pfffft

please... how about you come paint me purple and call me barney instead, I might buy that one instead.

to some, this may seem extreme but when you look at it from my point of view, there is not a whole lot on t.v. to watch that gets my attention to. And for me shows like who wants to be a millionaire (2 brain cell stimulant), big brother, or a lets do something really obnoxious and stupid for money-tv game shows, survivor (you win by making it out alive), MTV-road rules/real world (and its under age drinking-sex-partying affiliates), soap operas, TruBlood (actually stupid i give that a [-5] no brainer that makes fun of hicks being vampires) or any of that stuff... MOONLIGHT was actually good to watch.

Let's try this, how about making a show that works? How about keeping lame shows with plots, intrigue, oh.. and a high action/high entertainment factor on the frackin map? How about giving people who barely like t.v. to begin with a reason to watch... no, that sounds easy. DUH

now, back to watching the paint peel, renting DVD movies, spending $50.00 going to the movies, or design on a dime.. Uggggh.

By lynn at 1:35 AM ON 07/10/09

Give me more Mick and Coraline and their love story. They're Moonlight's original couple. Plus, they look smoking HOT together! Sorry, but the blond character Beth is pretty chubby and looks mismatched with him.

By Pale Eyes at 11:07 AM ON 07/10/09

So many of us did everything we could to let Mr. Moonves and Mr. Silver, and anyone else who is alive, know how we feel about Moonlight. We love the romance, the arty flavor of the show (avant-garde sets, skyline background, etc.,) the cast (stunningly gorgeous and mesmerizingly talented,) the dialogue with its quotable humor, and the updated version of the vampire tale of woe.

We adore this adult-fantasy-love story. You captured our hearts, then took away our show! Shame! We still want more Moonlight. Is anyone listening to us? We will support a movie. There's money to be made on this project and good will to be returned to the viewers.

Please put aside egos, politics, and arguing, and do what you did so well--create more Moonlight! Just place a few calls, and set up a few meetings. There's a vast audience still here waiting. We want more of our story, and we want to see more Alex, Sophia, Jason, Shannyn, and all the others who helped to engrave this show upon our hearts and imaginations!!!

Come on Mr. Silver and WB, you've let our characters rest long enough! They're ready to make their appearances, again. More Moonlight, please!

By Lunar Lover at 2:16 PM ON 07/10/09

I have never been a fan of network TV and when I show I liked was cancelled, I would "briefly" lament its lost and move on. But I have never been affected by a show like Moonlight and like everyone here, fell in love with its characters and beautiful storyline. AOL, SM, JD and other characters helped "seal the deal" for me and I have never looked back. Yes, I would love to have a movie to help bring closure. Hopefully Joel will have a "heart" and Alex will have success with 3R and BUP and we can be blessed once again with a storyline that was intoxicating, enchanting, romantic and full of life!

By ithalassa at 11:18 AM ON 07/13/09

It is obvious from the outpouring of enthusiasm and passion seen above, that there is a huge audience of fans ready and willing to support a movie, mini-series or (fervent hope) a return of the TV show. I am adding my name to the list of hopefuls, but like many others, would stipulate that ML's return would be written by Ron and Trevor, and feature the same cast as the original. Moonlight is the modern day "Romeo and Juliet" , and as such, should not be tainted with underworld creatures and outlandish stories. A comic book would not do it for me. I want to see my Alex/Mick St. John in the flesh!!!

By Adventurer at 11:04 AM ON 07/14/09

A Moonlight movie would be wonderful! There are fascinating story lines left hanging when the season ended. The vampire list in the hands of the new ADA, Coraline's disappearance and Mick's welcome to the family, vamp politics, the cleaners and more. But most importantly is the romance between Mick and Beth. It's what made the show magical. How can a vamp and a human work it out? Will Beth consent to be turned?

Please, please, please, MAKE A MOVIE!! Finish what was begun and give us some more Mick, Beth, Josef, Coraline, and the rest of the cast! No comic books and no graphic novels. Though they'd be fine as a supplemental, just NOT as a grand finale.

By Margroks at 4:31 PM ON 07/14/09

To each his own. I didn't care for Coraline, who was clearly intended to be the villain of the piece since she turned Mick without his consent and he hated her and himself for it as a result nor did I care particularly for the actress who portrayed her. But to call the actress who portrayed Beth, who was also clearly the heroine of the piece and Mick's true love, "chubby" is rude and uncalled for and, quite frankly, not true.

Coraline's actions in turning Mick were hardly those of real love and way too much time was spent delving into it by bringing her back as Morgan. They were not the OTP of the show by any stretch of the imagination and Mick's actions in trying to kill her for Beth's sake speak for themselves, IMO.

By diane31diane@gmail.com at 5:43 PM ON 07/14/09

OMG YES!!!! A movie would be wonderful beyond words!!!! Now since we are talking content already (so

excited, can't help it!!!), I really hope the story would be primarily character-based though, with action

definitely there, but secondary to the plotline. Like Twilight, and unlike Underworld, that is what Moonlight

is all about. Exploring the vampire world more is something we all looked forward to as well, but above all

Moonlight is about Mick's struggles with his identity. I have only heard rumours about the said war, and I

think something like that, if it is between vampires and (some?) humans and acts as a background to the story,

could be fascinating. That is, having Mick and Beth at the epicenter of a situation like that could offer a

lot of opportunities to explore Mick's identity-struggles (something I remember Alex say in an interview

several months ago he wished a season 2 would have explored?), together with his relationship with Beth of

course. However adding werewolves to the mix would be extremely unwise. Once a universe is established, you

don't want to chage the fundamentals of it. One of Moonlight's great strengths is its realism, like it was for

Highlander. Having werewolves run around the Moonlightverse would be as bad as Mc Leod suddenly having to face

such creatures...And of course, we need to have Mick and Beth come out of it all together and living happily

ever after, but that's obvious, right?!

By Martha at 4:26 PM ON 07/15/09

I think a ton of people disagree with the notion of Coraline's episodes not being good. TOTALLY disagree. They are some of the best, particuarly Ringer! Didn't we love to see Mick so confounded! We need Coraline and Lance back. Also Josef is a must. The Josef/Mick realtionship is almost as important as Mick/Beth!

Please everyone we need to support Moonlight everywhere we can to show that it is a show worth airing again no matter where. Please go to TV.com and vote for this show. There is a survey there for favorite vampire show and I think MOONLIGHT was the best of all. If you agree please go over and vote and show your support. The survey is on the first pge, just pg down. Again TV.com is the website.

By Megan at 2:07 PM ON 07/16/09

I cannot believe Moonlight was canceled....Vampires are everywhere....True Blood is doing better than never...Twilight....And CBS cancels Moonlight...Networks like NBC ;ABC and FOX are putting $$ in shows that are getting less than 5 million viewers...Don't be crazy , just pick up Moonlight....Bring back Trevor and forget about Harry and The Legion . Yuck!

By ladyd at 5:53 PM ON 07/16/09

Please bring Moonlight back I really did enjoy watching it every Friday. I also like Primevil but I still miss Moonlight it had a good story I don't understand why it was taken off.

By Tish S at 5:22 AM ON 07/17/09

Must write letters, maturely & business like, but DO WRITE NOW for a Moonlight movie...
Want the addresses of the people to write to, visit
WORLD WIDE MOONLIGHTERS & it's Moonlight Movie Crusade under forums

By Barbara at 10:57 AM ON 07/17/09

I would even settle for a three part mini-series of Moonlight. Whatever it takes to get Beth pregnant and the war of bloodlines. Mick has both Coraline and Josef's bloodline, Mick Jr. would be a bad ass.

By Domi at 7:31 PM ON 07/17/09

Pleaaaaaase !!!! Make a moonlight movie !!
I miss Mick St John, i miss Josef, I miss Beth...I miss the vampire, I miss this Awesome show !!
Please for all the many fans do a moviiiie !!

By Emily at 8:11 PM ON 07/18/09

Okay. Moonlight was a TV show. The main reason that the story was so good was because of the people playing the part in the show. (Alex, Sophia, Jason, etc.) DON'T SCREW IT UP BY MAKING IT INTO A COMIC BOOK!!! That is the dumbest idea I have ever heard of. Moonlight is a love story NOT A SUPERHERO NOVELTY!!!

Make it into a movie for the fans, the cast, and everyone who loves the story. DON'T MAKE IT STUPID.

WE DON'T NEED THE WAR SCENE JUST THE STORY TO BE FINISHED.

By Nva_gvup_Mick at 2:57 AM ON 07/19/09

Yes, please give us a movie. I really miss Mick and the gang.

Beggars can't be choosers so we'll take whatever we can get. I love the love triangles and conflicts in the show. The romances between star-crossed lovers, whether between Mick/Beth or Mick/Coraline, are what made the show so interesting. And definitely, we have to have the dude Josef and his one-liners. Mr. Joel Silver, the vampires are IN...

By emily156x at 4:59 PM ON 07/20/09

PLEASE!! Please make a movie, I watched season 1 and was blown away, it was absolutly amazing and the fact that people are trying so hard for a movie/ and/ or a season 2 shows this!!! I VOTE A SEASON 2 OUT ASAP!!

By aprill at 2:07 PM ON 07/25/09

Wow! If Moonlight turns out to be a film, it gets a greater hit. I'm still watching the first season episodes so enthusiastically and I have many friends having the same experience and wishing the show to come back in some version or another. Please bring us back our Moonlight!

By reveuse at 6:31 PM ON 07/27/09

As a UK viewer I'd love to see a Moonlight movie. All the more so if it retained the character-driven nature of the TV series. And yes, you can make that work alongside big movie action - look at the new Trek movie. Let's have more Mick, Beth and Joseph! Twilight is pale teen vamp-lite in comparison. LOL.

By series at 6:01 PM ON 07/28/09

oh yeah! movie Moonlight should be great, but keeping the original deal because it would not be the same if Mick or Beth change of face. I would prefer a second season of the series because a movie only have an hour and a half compared to a full season. But something is always better than nothing, so I´d like a movie too!
I want to see this beautiful romance and continuing the adventure and issues to be resolved: the family of royal lineage of vampires, the new tax to their list of vampires, when Joseph finally found love in a deadly ...
Please! Let's film the movie!

By wubbywubby at 12:06 PM ON 07/29/09

I need a Moonlight movie BUT with all the same actors as it would not be the same otherwise.
MICK/BETH and JOSEF are just AWESOME!!!!
BUT season II on the television along with season III & IV & V & VI & VII and so on would be SOOOOO much better. MOONLIGHT fan forever!!

By Moonlight Luv at 12:42 PM ON 07/29/09

I'm still mourning the loss of Moonlight! If a movie is the only possibility, then please WB give us a movie. Like so many others here, I would prefer at least one more season! CBS had the first vampire series in a long time, and the best one! Why it was canceled is such a mystery. It was, obviously, a mistake! I wish someone would try to correct it! Viva, Moonlight!

By Of The Night at 11:29 AM ON 07/30/09

No show captured my attention like Moonlight did, and I still feel its loss. Since there are so many who feel as I do, bringing Moonlight back in some form would seem good business sense. Yes, we want more Moonlight. Keep the mystery, original cast, and the romance!

By Tash at 2:24 AM ON 07/31/09

Pleeease make a Moonlight movie =D =D Or even better, just bring the series back!

By Carmilla at 11:55 AM ON 07/31/09

A Moonlight movie is a start. Perhaps, that would lead to a seriesof movies, or a season two, three, etc. Moonlight is unfinished, and it's the best of all the vampire *stuff* now! It's already classic cult fare, so there's a built-in audience. Please give us more!!!

By yellowmello at 11:09 PM ON 07/31/09

Oh my gosh, even after all this time...it is the ONLY TV series I still go on about...hey come on guys PLEASE do more series, especially with the same actors, or at least a movie....I am totally hooked and will be forever grateful if you do more. I think the problem was you were visionaries, but there's no time like NOW.

By Silverchex at 2:35 AM ON 08/02/09

I hope everyone that commented here is writing and asking for that Moonlight Movie. We still want to see it done!

By ashz22 at 8:12 PM ON 08/02/09

I hope they make a movie maybe if the buzz is big and the movie is a hit someone might pick up the show =D

By Darlene at 8:55 PM ON 08/02/09

I still miss Moonlight, too! What great family entertainment! We had wonderful stories, lovely, modern vamps and a great storyline. All the cast is terrific! There isn't anything else like it! Please give us a movie--at least a movie!!!

By Missin'Moonlight at 12:05 PM ON 08/03/09

I never cared much about TV programs. I had a few favorites and that was fine, but Moonlight is different. It's so much fun and the plot is really innovative. I miss it, and I want more of it. Please consider a movie! I'd rather have more than that, but please give us a movie! WB are you listening to us? Do you hear this? We're telling you, we will buy this product--our beloved Moonlight!!! Bring back our cast for at least one more production, please!

By moonlight_Fan at 1:03 PM ON 08/03/09

I just dont wanna belive moonlight cancelation :( pls let them to continue this movie. i am sure 2nd season will get lots of ratings..because i havent seen any show like that included love, crime, vampire stories.. and i am agree it's the best of all the vampire stuff untill this time!pls give it back to us:(

By sushinam at 3:16 AM ON 08/05/09

Please pick up Moonlight again!

I've watched True Blood which is good and Twilight makes me nauceous. But Moonlight is somehow in a different range. Though it's also a "vamp" tale I like it more than Twilight and True Blood (well I'm a fan)... Even if it's made into a movie that's better than nothing!
Please pretty please?

By MoonGlow at 2:34 PM ON 08/05/09

Great way to start a story, and then leave us hanging somewhere in the middle. We didn't even get one full season!!! I feel so cheated!!! It's still the BEST vamp story anywhere!!! Please give us a Moonlight movie!!!

By stephsim17 at 2:29 AM ON 08/06/09

PLEASE make a Moonlight movie....or bring back the show...anything!!! Vampires are HOT now, in books, (Blue Blood series, Twilight) TV (Buffy, Angel in past, True Blood and Vampire Diaries now) and movies (Twilight, New Moon) If advertisers are smart they know where to go....PLEASE BRING BACK MOONLIGHT!!!! Thank you!!!

By Esme at 11:30 AM ON 08/06/09

Please make a Moonlight movie. This show had so many loyal fans, who would love some closure.

By Cierra at 4:02 AM ON 08/10/09

YES! This needs to happen!

By Jonique at 9:10 AM ON 08/10/09

I would love to hear that a movie is in the works and you, WB, have called all our cast!
Moonlight is the most entertaining of all the vampire-themed shows. Please give us more Alex with his long hair, Beth and her modern, pushy, sweetness and Josef with his sharp, fresh wit! Give us a movie, please!

By Mike at 11:15 AM ON 08/10/09

We love the actors!!!!

By Always at 2:17 PM ON 08/12/09

I was always taught that when you make a mistake, you try to *make it right.* Well, CBS admitted their mistake when they canceled Moonlight, but they haven't made it right! A Moonlight movie would certainly help!

By Becca at 12:31 AM ON 08/14/09

Please, please make a Moonlight movie. It was the best show and deserved to be on air for many more seasons. The show was wonderful escapism, and the cast had tremendous appeal and brought their characters to life. And there was something magic about Moonlight with the sets, the lighting--semi film noir, and the music that set the mood. Moonlight was very appealing and its fine quality belongs in the big screen. Moonlight will always have a special place in my heart.

By Patrick M. at 1:40 PM ON 08/15/09

Moonlight should still be on TV. It is head and shoulders above what is on now, and it wasn't give a fair chance to compete. What were you thinking LM of CBS? Moonlight is great family entertainment! A movie would help tie up some plot lines.

By Erni at 8:06 AM ON 08/16/09

Please, bring Moonlight back. I have never been so fan of TV show as i am now. Moonlight has fans even in such a small countries as Lithuania!

By Jacob G. at 12:49 PM ON 08/19/09

Moonlight is the best low-key vampire show. It's fine for the entire family--not too much blood or guts. The plots are interesting and the special effects are great. My family would like to see this back on the air, but if a movie is the only possibility, then we would like a movie. Great show Alex, Sophia, Jason, and Shannyn. The entire cast and crew should be commended for their quality work. No wonder it won so many awards!

By Karen at 2:38 AM ON 08/22/09

This was a brilliant TV series and I would love for rhere to be a movie.....would promote it to all my friends as I truly believe it woudl be fantastic. Please make the movie, Serenity tied up the loose ends for Firefly, this series needs an ending too!!!!!

By akiyuki89 at 5:11 AM ON 08/22/09

of course there should be a movie. i loved moonlight and i was really really rea;;y upset when i found out that it was canceled. this show was underappreciated! please make the movie!!!!!!

By MoonThel at 9:42 AM ON 08/23/09

Of course there should be a Moonlight movie! This series was cut way too soon. Come on LM of CBS! So many want more of it! Bring back the series. It has more seasons left. If a movie is all JS or WB will consider, then do that! More Moonlight!!!!
Go to Amazon buy it on DVD and leave a recommendation for it! Let's keep promoting it. Moonlight is not dead. It lives in our hearts!

By wubbywubby at 5:29 PM ON 08/24/09

How I would love to see anything Moonlight. I have missed it since May 2008 and am still missing it now. This is a wonderful show that should have never left television. There are not enough good shows on tv now and when Moonlight was gone it really took the wind out of my sails. We all need more Moonlight.

By moonlightfan at 6:34 AM ON 08/25/09

moonlight is the best tv show in the world!!!! i hope it comes back eventually with the lead character still played by alex and the other dude playing joseph, i dont care who plays the rest of the characters as long as they r involved!!!! also a second season would be better than a movie but i would still love a movie!!!!! GO MOONLIGHT!!!!!

I've use up to entire sets of the DVD series for Moonlight looking at it at least once a week during down times. They need to bring back Alex, Sophia, Josef and the rest of the characters. MOONLIGHT !!! THE BEST OF VAMPIRE WORLDS.!!!!

By Alicia at 12:12 PM ON 09/06/09

I certainly hope we will see more Moonlight in some form. If a movie is the only possibility, then I want that! Moonlight still haunts me, and it was a wonderful diversion. The story was just beginning to get involved and romantically complex--great fun! I especially miss Josef's (Jason Dohring) humor and friendship with Mick (Alex O'Laughlin.) The entire cast was wonderful, and I'm not forgetting Beth (Sophia Myles.) Bring back Moonlight in some form, please!

By Emma at 2:36 PM ON 09/07/09

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAVE YOU SEEN ALL THE COMMENTS THIS HAS GOTTEN!
Moonlight is the best show ever, and I would seriously give MY ARM for a movie. And I'm not the only one. A whole lot of fans from Sweden where I live would so do it!
GO MOVIE MOONLIGHT!

By Moon Maddie at 1:13 PM ON 09/09/09

I've seen all of them, and Moonlight is still the best vampire show around. What a cast! Everything about it is superior!!!! Please make a movie, or a mini series, or better, yet, give us more episodes!!! So many of us want more Moonlight! There is a built-in fan base just waiting!!! Moonlight Rules!!! Moonlight Rocks!!!

By Daughter of the Moon at 10:37 AM ON 09/12/09

Please make a Moonlight movie! We need at least that! To so many of us, Moonlight is unfinished. It was ahead of its time, and CBS made a BIG mistake not giving it more time and episodes. Alex and Jason are the most appealing, fascinating, and charming vamps ever, and their characters, Mick and Josef are the most engaging!

More Moonlight stories and vamps, please!!!

By Steph at 1:27 PM ON 09/15/09

I hope Joel Silver is aware that so many want more Moonlight! Perhaps, he'll see what a treasure it is, and realize it still has potential. After all, it isn't doing anyone any good just sitting on the shelf! Please give us more Mick, Beth, Josef, Coranline, and all the others. Even if CBS was short-sighted about Moonlight, the fans aren't!!! Please consider giving us more of our favorite vampire show--Moonlight!!!

By Candy Shine at 9:10 PM ON 09/15/09

PLEASE have MOONLIGHT BACK on the show or MAKE A MOVIE out of them (Mick, Beth, Josef & Coranline).

By Sherri Lynn at 2:56 PM ON 09/17/09

I keep hoping that all the excitement about Twilight will help us get more Moonlight!!! Vampires never go out of style!!! Consider how many years they've been intriguing and entertaining us on TV and in books. The ones in Moonlight are especially noteworthy, and so many of us would love to see more Mick, Beth, Josef, and Coraline!!!! Moonlight is a great version of the kind-hearted, self-proclaimed monster who falls in love with a mortal!!! Great fun!!! Please give us more Moonlight!!!

By hud at 9:03 PM ON 09/20/09

please make a moonlight movie. i miss Mick so much and the storyline was interrupted without an ending. there was so much more to tell. please.

By Nancy at 9:14 PM ON 09/20/09

yes, we need an adult vampire movie for those between the ages of 25 and over. Twilight just doesnt do it for me. too juvenile.

By Josef's Human at 7:48 PM ON 09/23/09

I discovered Moonlight in its last four episodes, and I loved it! I never imagined it would be canceled! As soon as it came out, I purchased several DVD's and shared them with friends. They all love it!!! It's got the BEST romance, cast, plots, humor, music, setting--everything!!! The best modern take on the old vamp genre is Moonlight, no contest! Please continue this story in a movie, at least! More Jason, Alex, Sophia, and Coraline! More Moonlight!!!

By Vamps 4 Ever at 9:00 PM ON 09/23/09

Come on Joel Silver, don't let CBS win! They can cancel Moonlight, but they can't kill it!!!! We're still here, wanting it back!!! Remove the stake from our favorite vampire show. Give us more Moonlight. Let it rise, again! Bring it back. Make a movie, please!

By Toos Schrama at 1:08 PM ON 09/24/09

I would love it if the story continued, it was such a fantastic series. So please make a movie.

By EarGrayHot at 2:32 PM ON 09/24/09

I was hoping to stop by and hear some good news about aMoonlight movie or mini-series. Even though I know Alex and the other cast members are busy with other endeavors, I still hold out hope they can someday find time to give us one more look into the Moonlight world. Fingers still crossed!

By Arlene at 12:39 PM ON 09/26/09

What do we want?
Moonlight
When do we want it?
Now!
Please give us more Moonlight with our original cast! Please hear us Joel Silver and grant our request! We miss Mick and Beth! Give us more of Josef's unique humor and Coraline's treachery! More Moonlight, please!

By Moonlight Dawn at 11:58 AM ON 09/27/09

What is it about Moonlight that won't let us move on. . . Everything! I have never seen so many requesting a movie for a vampire series. Bring on a Moonlight movie! We didn't get enough! We want more Moonlight!

By Vampluver4ever at 1:18 PM ON 09/27/09

Come on Joel Silver. You don't really believe Moonlight is dead, do you? Surely you must see how many of us want more of it. It would be a good business move to make a movie, and it would be a wonderful present to all of us who still love the characters and story of Moonlight.

By Crazy4Mick at 12:44 PM ON 09/28/09

Please bring MOONLIGHT back a movie would be great there was still to much left that needs to be done and yes it needs the original cast it wont be the same without them this show was the best show out there 100%!!!

By Bonnie at 1:55 PM ON 09/28/09

I've always said CBS and LM made a big mistake by only giving Moonlight 16 episodes. It was loved and IS loved by so many. We have so many crime, hospital, law, and reality shows. Why couldn't we have one vampire series--our great fantasy escape! A Moonlight movie would help, but I'd love to see more episodes! Bring back our vamps and humans! Give us a Moonlight Movie, please, please, please!!!

By Maggie at 2:55 PM ON 09/28/09

I can't stand that Moonlight's gone, I'm still in mourning.
You must give us a movie--we demand it! Listen to your audience for crying out loud. Moonlight was just so magical. Getting the cast back for the move is also vital, but you can do it. Come on!

By BethAnn at 9:37 AM ON 09/30/09

I would welcome more Moonlight in any form. Of course, I would love more of the series, but a movie is better than nothing. I miss the vamps in Moonlight and the romance between Mick and Beth. Bring back Josef, too. Please make more Moonlight!

By Vamps'R'Hot at 11:16 AM ON 10/01/09

Yes, I want more Moonlight! I wish WB would call JS, and tell him it's time for more. Moonlight makes me wish that vamps really did live in LA! You don't have to travel to some castle in Transylvania, anymore. Now, there's an entire community living on the West Coast. What fantastical fun! Come on JS, you made us fall in love with your vamps, and we didn't get enough. Please give us a movie. Give us more Mick, Beth, Josef, and Coraline. Give us at least one more glimpse into their lives! Give us more Moonlight!

By Marie at 2:33 PM ON 10/03/09

Still hoping for a MOONLIGHT Movie with the original writers and cast! Anybody else?

By Shade at 1:14 AM ON 10/06/09

I can´t live without moonlight !!!
It is soo amazing !

I hope there comes a movie of it.

By Laura at 8:22 PM ON 10/11/09

There is definitely a wanting for a movie. Just go and check out all the Three River review sites. After the crowd finished what they wanted to say about TR, they all expressed a need and desire for the show to A: come back on tv and B: make that movie already. One critic went as far to say that someone should put a stake through the person at CBS who decided to cancel Moonlight. He went on to say that they should just make the movie already.

By Margroks at 10:23 AM ON 10/12/09

I'm really enjoying 3R but I still hope a way can be found to bring the original cast of ML back for a movie or mini-series. The problem is, of course, that everyone is really busy with other projects, especially Alex and it would be a scheduling nightmare to do a movie. I know ALex has said again recently that Mick is gone now as far as he knows but I still hold out hope. I mean really; there are vampire shows and books all over now and none have the heart Moonlight had. CBS was insane to cancel the show just becasue there were problems with the producer turnover. They blew it! They waited years to make another X-Files movie and, while I don't want them to wait years for a ML movie, as long as there is interest, there's a way!

By SciFiChick at 1:57 PM ON 10/13/09

Now is the time to announce a Moonlight movie! We want to see more of our story and our fantastic cast! Vamps never go out of style!!! We've been waiting for more Moonlight since its untimely cancellation. Nothing compares to it or takes its place, so please announce a Moonlight movie will begin production, soon!!!

CBS had the next Buffy and Angel, and the eintire cast of Moonlight worked so well together. They all had style and charisma. I wanted to see much more of all of them. What a shortsided decision to cancel the show! Isn't anyone listening to the fans? We are telling you what we want to watch! We want more Moonlight!

Please make a Moonlight movie! It is such an amazing show and CBS have clearly lost what would've been a huge cash cow.

CBS had the BEST vampire show in Moonlight. Moonlight is still the BEST of all! Since Alex is under contract with CBS, we could have more episodes. CBS did it better than anyone, and they were miles ahead of the current vampire craze. Vamps are in. They are always romantic. Vamps never go out of style, and Moonlight has the most romantic and stylish vamps ever presented. Come on CBS, you had it right! Give us more of your magic greatness in more Moonlight!

I totally agree that CBS had the BEST vampire show in Moonlight. The cast is superb, and everything about the show screams amazing! CBS did wonderful thinking outside the box with Moonlight, and it's sad that so many things happened to cancel it. CBS should bring back the incredible vampire show, and Moonlight started the latest vampire craze. It's still the best! It leaves the others in the DUST!!! Come on CBS, show everyone else how it should be done. Bring back Moonlight!!!
