A trailer has gone live for the upcoming horror film Dorian Gray, which you can view after the jump. The film, based on the Oscar Wilde novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, is about a man who remains forever young while his portrait instead shows the effects of his physical and moral decay.
Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia) stars as Dorian Gray, while Colin Firth (Mamma Mia!) portrays Lord Henry Wotton, the man who corrupts him. The international teaser trailer for the film from director Oliver Parker debuted over at ShockTillYouDrop.com.
Dorian Gray is due for release on Sept. 9, 2009.

He ain't that cute; shouldn't Dorian be at least athletic? This dude looks rather emaciated. Is he a manorexic? As for the movie, I'd give it one big meh.

One of my all-time fave books and Ben Barnes eye candy to boot? Yummy on top of yummy. Yes to this one!

The concept of physical beauty was very different then than now. Gentlemen weren't muscle-bound jocks, Flexi. And frankly, if you're interested in Dorian Gray for how cute he is, then you've clearly never read the book. *rubs forehead in consternation*

Agrees with Overquoted.

Barnes looks disturbingly like Ralph Bates in Hammer's "Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde."

Looks good. I've been hoping they would make a movie of this for years. I'm glad that they finally have and it looks like they're going it justice.

Dorian was a character in the movie the League of Extrordinary Gentlemen

Ekks, Dorian Gray predates the League of Extraordinary Gentleman by a LOT. That film's characters all originated from works of literature. Dorian is from The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. As a fan of that novel I am really looking forward to this.

I hate that this does not have an American distributor. You would think we'd get a direct to DVD release since we're clearly not getting it in theatres. I'm a long term Oscar Wilde fan. I first read the novel when I was seventeen-years-old. I want to see this!
