DUDE!!! He doesn't look ridiculous! He looks just like Sokka!!!

He doesn't look that bad, but he doesn't look that good either. However, Aang looks okay, and judging from a trailer I saw, and that picture, this movie might be worth a look for the bending.

My first thoughts at this picture of Jackson,...was.....Hey that is Sokka......a looks just like him....

If the first movie is any indication of how well New Moon will be, then it will be amongst the worst movies of all time... but never as bad as Powder.

If you watched the cartoon it wasnt about the color of your skin ir how small your eyes are... it is a fictional world. Why does everyone think because it is drawn similar to anime that it has to be all oriental?? Ignorant people... you dont like it dont go see it.. for those who liked the cartoon .. I know i am excited about it all

The actor's facial structure resembles animated-Sokka's, but the hair is wrong -- he lacks the topknot (but he does seem to have shaved temples, as seen in the inset photo with Katara). And why is his outfit brown instead of blue? National color schemes were very important to the show.

("What kind of polar subsistence culture takes the time to dye hides?" you ask. Pretend the creatures are *naturally* blue, if it helps.)

These are changes akin to those seen in the month-ago publicity photo of Zuko -- hair is wrong, costume lacks the color and flares/points of a Fire Nation uniform.

I suspect the same art direction philosophy (audiences will reject cartoonish color in a serious live-action film) that's responsible for the dull-colored uniforms in the X-Men movies, grey movie Decepticons, and the upcoming grey G.I.Joe team.

well megmorg no offense but U R the a Ignorant if U watch closely the show

1 sokka and katara are defenily native american the blues eyes represent their element that is water is the same with zuko and the amber eyes fire
2 when zuko lost his powers and they travel to a jungle the city they arrives resembles a mayan city
3 the dragons in the entire show are asian dragons
4 the writing is used by the charaters is definily asian
5 and finally the clothes, building, weapons mostly is asian in origin, so dont get mad when people see the show and asociated with anime

I think J.R. is super hot. The first time i hear they were making a live action avatar, i thought: Ugh! It'll suck! But Jackson is a pretty good actor
