The cast and crew of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will wear white ribbons on their wrists at the film's world premiere in Leicester Square Tuesday as a mark of respect to murdered actor Rob Knox, BBC News reported.

Knox, 18, who portrays Marcus Belby in the film, was stabbed in southeast London last May while defending his brother from an attack by Karl Bishop, who received four life terms in March.

Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the teenage wizard in the film, said Knox's death had hit all of the cast. He said, "I won't pretend I knew him incredibly well, or was his best friend on set, but I knew him and liked him, and what happened to him was obviously tragic and awful."

"It's going to be quite a traumatic experience for his family, who've been very supportive of him," said co-star Bonnie Wright, who plays Ginny Weasley, younger sister of Harry's best friend Ron. She said the wearing of white ribbons on their wrists honored not only his life, but also the other families who have experienced such crimes.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the sixth film based on J. K. Rowling's best-selling books.

Just an observation but should not an article about the actor who was murdered have a picture of the actor himself and not Daniel Radcliffe? We all know what Harry looks like show us a photo of the one whom the article is about. It seems in poor taste to turn the tribute into an add for the next film.

In repsonse to comment made by jmanfortruth, maybe that's because they are no photos of Knox available. I've looked for one

Well, I think that harry in this photo looks a little mournful yes? Also yeah there are none because even though its tragic he died, he was just a normal guy, ( courageous ) average Jo. Everything is a promotion and its pointless to point that out. May he rest in piece.

so sad that this young man died so young, and just on the cusp of his adult life, when everything was starting to open up for him. I hope his family will find comfort in knowing what kind of man he was growing into, and that his brother was not responsible for what happened.

Respect to Rob for making the ultimate sacrifice in saving another human life. Here's hoping that one day Karl learns what that means.
