New actiony clip for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
Paramount has released a new action-oriented clip from its upcoming G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, which you can view after the jump.
Based on the Hasbro toy line and animated TV series, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra stars Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Christopher Eccleston, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Byung Hun Lee, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Ray Park, Saïd Taghmaoui, Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans and Dennis Quaid. Directed by Stephen Sommers, it opens Aug 7.

As for me, my childhood is just fine and unthreatened. This looks like a fun flick for a Saturday morning and I am looking forward to it.

*sigh* I just don't like the suits in a G.I. Joe story. I actually think the suits could be very cool provided they were featured in a movie NOT entitled G.I. Joe. They just don't fit. Sorry personal gripe nothing more. Snake-Eyes and Stormshadow look great, and to be honest they're what I care the most about anyway. I just wish they didn't have those CGI suits in order to grant them CGI powers.

Looks even more like a disaster in the making. Matrix wannabe flick. G.I. Joe is a real AMERICAN hero. Never needed some kind of "accelerator suit." It is not "raping my childhood (or in my case the college years," it is just ruining a great idea.

This looks even terrible -- just awful. I only watched the clip hoping to see Cobra Commander. Anyone noticed that the writers of the original cartoon had more originality in conceiving of the characters than these idiots? Baroness was kinda neat and crazy sounding. I'd rather sleep with Sienna Miller, but she's pretty cliche. The G I Joes are awful, too. I'm not saying the cartoon wasn't embarrassing (or bereft of cliches), but at least it was more original than this!

Alright, for everyone that keeps complaining about the accelerator suits- Shut The Hell Up!
G.I. Joe was an elite group that would have had access to best technology.
The technology is already publicly available to make a basic accelerator suit NOW! Jeeze, there's a company in Japan that's going to start selling and renting powered exo-skeletons next year; DVICE fans, you know what I'm talking about.
Now that that's off my chest... despite being a big G.I. Joe fan when I was a kid I have no issue with the changes that have been made. I think this looks like a great, fun movie and I can't wait to see it.

I think this is going to be a great movie! My kids have never seen an episode of G.I.Joe and when they saw the preview for this movie they where freakin' out. So now they want to know about all the great cartoons dad used to watch as a kid. The crap that passes for cartoons these days suck! They have ruined Saturday Morning.
