We Are Boring. We Are Boring.

Great series the best yet, I prefer it to Doctor Who as it is far more adult. Me and the daughters cant wait for 9 pm tonight to watch episode 4 in full HD surround sound on Freesat.

Melora,
"We are boring"? This is one of the best shows on television! You should really consider giving it a chance, but you would also need to watch Doctor Who in order to properly appreciate the show.

Melora: I agree with Eto, this is an exceptional series. If you were disappointed by the first two seasons of Torchwood, prepare to revise your opinion on seeing this one (3 episodes have been shown in the UK as I write). But Eto is wrong, you don't have to have seen either Doctor Who or previous Torchwoods to appreciate the series, as it's written to be accessible to new viewers. (Surprisingly) highly recommended.

This series is on right now (ep4 starts in 2 minutes) and its absolutely BRILLIANT. Better by far than the last Dr Who series. Russell T Davies has really excelled himself with this one.

I'm a huge fan of this show (and the Russell Davies Dr Who reboot in general, although I'm bummed that David Tenant is leaving, and I'm really concerned the new Doctor is way too young).

Anyway... unfortunately Comcast doesn't offer BBC America in HD, so that pretty well sucks.

Guess it's time to fire up the old Bittorrent and rely on my friends on the other side of the pond throwing this over to The Pirate Bay!

Melora has no life. Melora only posted here so she(?) can try to crap all over something. That's the trend. Take note how Melora doesn't actually SAY anything.

LOVE this new series. It's brilliant sci-fi.
J: I disagree. I think 'Torchwood' stands on its own. I love 'Torchwood' and 'Doctor Who.' Knowing 'Who' may add something but I don't think it's necessary to dig 'Torchwood.'

So... everyone, except Melora, enjoy!!

I have seen the first 3 eps in HD and it is exceptionally good. I did not care for the first two seasons of Torchwood (but I still watched). It's supposed to be an adult show, but it is only "adult" because they talk about sex all the time, and they curse more. Far too much of both IMO. Life is not all about shagging afterall.

But this season, WOW! Great story and acting. Worth every penny they spent on it.

You basically said what I was going to say!

Series 1 & 2 were very uneven (much like RTD's own writing), but this one is really showing the potential for the characters and the stories they can tell.

To ETo and J: Thanks, but I've already watched the first couple of eps of Children Of Earth. I will say it wasn't as juvenile as Torchwood's first two seasons, but it's still nothing brilliant and it just hasn't snared me I'm afraid. Which is a shame because I genuinely wanted to like Torchwood (I find Dr Who WAY too silly). Sadly it just doesn't cut it for me.

Jimmy D: you're a childish moron who has to resort to insults just because somebody has spoken against your beloved show. TOUGH! At least ETo and J had the decency not to make it personal.

I absolutely love Doctor Who and really really wanted to give this a shot. But when I like the storyline and the characters--some of them-- I was a little put off by the in your face sexuality that seemed like a political agenda. A bit of a disclaimer here: I have gay friends and one of them was in my wedding party when I married. With that I just thought pushing the hey-this-character-is-gay/bi novelty was a transparent gimmick. It's one thing to portray a non-stereotype gay character realistically as a whole human being. It's another making a bloody show of it in the spotlight all the time, it's too gimmicky. IMHO.

Guys, come on now. You're not a US website, you're a website - which means your readership is not limited to the 49 states + Alaska. Europe and the online community has already watched 3 episodes (4 as soon as I double click that file), so you can't get away with showing a 'new' clip like this.

p.s. It's very, very good.

In response to a previous poster, Comcast will be carrying BBC AMerica HD. That channel goes live with the start of Torchwood: Children of Earth. My wife and I have watched through episode 4 and having to wait for Episode 5 to air is pure torture. The mini-series has been superb, absolutely the most gripping Torchwood story yet. To say anything more would involve spoilers.

By houseofmowlem at 5:07 PM ON 07/10/09

Well that's the 5th episode watched and I have to ask if torchwood will ever return. This series has been so dark and disturbing and without doing a spoiler this must be the last episode ever

By chris at 4:54 PM ON 07/11/09

i like the mini seires but the thing about every goverment giving the kids is absolutly nuts
ok i know thye only showed Uk kids thats fine but the thing is in uk most people dont have any guns
in the USA goverment taking away 2 mill kids from parents LOL LOL LOL would need a swat team for every kid and most of them would die
mothers fathers siblings all of them would pick up a gun and shoot em before they even got near their kids
am canadian soo no guns either but dam u saw in the show how people were helpless couldnt do anything

another thing i know its bad to say but i would of told the aliens take the kids in africa
not like we can feed em anyway

Just discovered Torchwood and thought that it looked like a good scifi, like XFiles or fringe or the old Threshold, but then I realized its all about guys kissing and a homosexual agenda...so that ruins the show for countless scifi addicts who just aren't comfortable watching 2 guys swap spit.
