News briefs: 'Geordi' in accident; Superman creator's fetish
UPDATE: People magazine reports that Star Trek: The Next Generation star LeVar Burton was injured in a five-car accident in West Los Angeles. He was driving his 2006 Mercedes eastbound along Beverly Boulevard at about 7:40 p.m. Monday when a 74-year-old woman driving westbound turned left in front of him. The wreck caused a five-car pileup, although no one was seriously injured. Burton complained of neck pain and was treated at a nearby hospital and released.

And this is why the captcha system needs to go. You can work with it, obviously, but if you make the spammers jump through the conventional hoops of setting up an account with captcha AND e-mail verification, it tends to cut down on the spam. At the very least, it'll be easier to nuke ALL their offending comments.

Speaking of LeVar Burton, why isn't his man directing more television/movies? His episodes of ANY of the Star Trek television series (he did quite a few from just about all of them) were confident, assured, and frankly kicked ass.

Hope that Levar Burton is alright -- as well as the other driver. He did great work directing DS9 and I feel bad that his character wasn't explored much on TNG, especially in the movies.
