District 9 looks silly and like a mishmash of a whole slew of other sci fi (Syfy?) movies made over the last fifty years (V, Alien Nation, Independence Day, to name a few).

As for Dollhouse, I am still in shock they cancelled a really good and thoughtful show like The Sarah Connor Chronicles and kept something as idiotic and juvenile as Dollhouse.

Well, OK. I'm not REALLY in shock. It's obvious networks like Fox and NBC and all the rest really have no rhyme or reason to what they do...

As much as I loved Sarah Connor Chronicles and feel indifferent towards Dollhouse, maybe they decided to cancel SCC because NOBODY WATCHED IT. Television shows do have to make money after all.

By gorehound696 at 5:35 PM ON 07/08/09

they should not have cancelled TSCC.Dollhouse is the worst scifi type show I have seen in decades.I will never bother to watch another episode of this pointless and boring show.

Don't listen to them, FOX spies. Dollhouse is awesome. Just give Joss more leeway to do his thing.

They cancelled Sarah Connor because nobody was watching it. They gave it two seasons to find an audience, and it failed.

Dollhouse has only had half a full season so far. It makes sense to give it a chance to grow and see if it pull an audience. If it doesnt, then that will get cancelled next year too.

Personally, I found TSCC more juvenile than Dollhouse. It was just a dumb action-fest. Dollhouse is far from brilliant itself, but it has potential.

Meh, Terminator had potential, but it got boring and confusing for trying to go into original direction, it shouldve been on HBO, I mean you cant take a R rated movie and turn into a tv show very easily. As for Dollhouse.....meh just another reason to turn all the girls into sex dolls who have no memory anything to show skin lol

District 9 looks much more interesting, and much less "Alien Nation 2009" in this trailer. I'm intrigued. (And the shot with an alien robot (?) grabbing an RPG out of the air before it hit its target was pretty sweet.)

By spiritreaver at 1:11 AM ON 07/09/09

The ongoing TSCC/Dollhouse debate continues eh? Dipping toe in a sec: @ Mello, they were given about one season really if you look at it(the half-sized "first" season and half of the proper-ish sized second); then relegated to the time-slot of death on Friday night. Friday night, you know that day of the week where the target audience for the show ISN"T HOME! Removing toe...

District 9 looks interesting, lets hope its not too interesting though, eh? Wouldn't want the viewers to have to digest too much stuff like say an actual plot or other nonsensical things of that nature. Oh no wait, Pete Jackson is doing it? ...it'll have all that stuff then prolly....its doomed...

Forget Dollhouse, BRING BACK FIREFLY!
Best thing Whedon ever did!

By Danyael at 1:02 PM ON 07/09/09

Has anyone considered that TSCC was just a big huge promo for "Terminator: Salvation"?? And once the movie came out, the series had fulfilled its purpose????

By midnspike at 10:02 PM ON 07/09/09

Friday night is death slot?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Does that mean Eureka is doomed? I love Eureka!!

Lets be honest, with today's technology (DVR, being able to watch full episodes on the net, and what I typically do: buy the season on dvd so i can watch it all in the matter of a week) typical "ratings" no longer prove the best source of a show's worth...

P.S. Loved firefly!...Serenity, however, I could have done without out.

By spiritreaver at 3:22 PM ON 07/10/09

Yes midnspike, Friday is a deathslot. But SciFI, SyFY, w/e, is and has always handled friday correctly imo. They have the set schedule, and then they immediately repeat it. And just incase you miss those 2 showings, they play the show at least one other time during the week.

You really have to be trying to miss their shows. I mean as i type this, a third(fourth?) encore of Warehouse 13 is coming up in an hr or so. This will be my first time watching it since i haven't been able to watch TV this week.

tl;dr

Eureka is safe i think, any day of the week, as long as its on SyFY.
