Remo Williams isnt an "80's action hero". He is from the 70's. The book series started in 1971 and is one of the longest running "mens adventure series"

Remo/The Destroyer was not only the movie (With Fred Ward), but was actually an almost-never aired TV series. (I remember seeing about five to ten minutes of the conclusion after some show ran short)

I loved the Remo Williams movie. I didn't find it that it was based on a book until year later. I remember seeing the would-be Remo Williams TV series. The pilot episode, "The Prophesy" was aired but it was never picked up. I'm not sure why. It was very good. Remo was played by Jeffrey Meek.

YES !
"The Destroyer" series deserves another shot at a film franchise.
It`s got great characters, action, adventure, mysticism, humor and can be applied to a wide variety of plot venues.
Hopefully, tjis will kick-start the books, which have been stalled for the past year.

I read the first 45-50 volumes and emjoyed them a lot. The plots then began to become repetitive and almost unbelievable. I gave them up awhile back. I liked the Joel version of Chiun, it was spot on to the books.

I remember the movie back in the 80's. I used to love Chun and I will never forget seeing a pre Janeway Kate Mulgrew but for me it didn't hold up to my tastes getting more sophisticated. Hopefully a new rendition will change that. As for the TV show, I never got to see it thanks to my area getting hit with a major thunderstorm at the time. After all these years I never bothered to track it down.
