Syfy will pick up its hit series Eureka for a fourth season, senior vice president Mark Stern said in a surprise announcement at a panel Saturday at Comic-Con in San Diego.
Stern placed a call during the panel to Eureka star Colin Ferguson, who is in Bulgaria filming Lake Placid 3 for Syfy, to announce the news. The crowd also sang Ferguson "Happy Birthday."
Stern's news drew applause from appreciative fans in the audience. Eureka airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Great for Eureka, I like that show. But Lake Placid 3? Are they joking? Can't Syfy make any decent original movies? Fire the people making your movies and hire the series people to make some movies for you. You might actually get something people want to watch, rather than some piece of crap that people only watch out of boredom or just because the TV is on.

All those SYFY Saturday night monster movies fill their programming (just like wrestling, Scare Tactics and the Ghost Hunters series.) They also give working actors a paycheck so they can like us, pay mortages, buy groceries, etc. SyFy is a cable channel that will make programming for its viewers as economically as possible. Movie studios are supposed to make decent movies - well I should say blockbusters. If you dont like the SyFy monster movies, don't watch them. Continue having fun with your favorite SyFy series.
