A new trailer has gone live for the upcoming animated sci-fi family comedy Planet 51, which you can view after the jump.
The film is described as being E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial in reverse: An astronaut from Earth crash-lands on an alien planet and needs the help of a friend to get back home. But that's just the beginning. Astronaut Chuck Baker (voiced by Dwayne Johnson) didn't just land on any planet. He landed on Planet 51, which is exactly like America in the 1950s, ... except that the planet's residents aren't human.
The movie also features voices of Seann William Scott, Jessica Biel, Justin Long, Gary Oldman and John Cleese. Planet 51 lands in theaters on Nov. 20.

Looks pretty good and even if it's not, it couldn't possibly be as bad as Space Monkeys!

Fine for kids but I don't see any adult appeal here.

You don't have any kids do you GQ. You either like animation or you don't, it's that simple. If you do, this will appeal to you. If you don't, well, it's not rocket science. It's called entertainment. I'm 33, with 4 kids. I happen to like animation, even anime, as a genre. But I don't like the half hour comedy TV show that's on Prime Time M-F. Everyone is different. I will undoubtedly enjoy this movie with or without my kids.

No, Wdwyer, I don't have any kids but what in the name of God does that have to do with what I said? I love animation. My favourite films tend to be animated. This, however, looks like a kids' film with not much for an adult to enjoy.
Don't be so bloody touchy.
