Tron Legacy light cycle footage is now live

In case you missed it, we have the full test footage for the Tron Legacy light-cycle race, which debuted at last year's Comic-Con and screened again this year in 3-D when the sequel's name and other details were revealed. You can watch it after the jump.

Tron Legacy picks up the story of the original film, then jumps ahead more than 25 years with a new story about Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the son of original Tron hero Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges).

(The footage is a test that was meant to sell the concept; the success of the footage last year was instrumental in getting the sequel green-lighted.)

The IMDB still lists a 2011 release date, but the test footage, which has been updated with the "Tron Legacy" title, says 2010. Frankly, I don't know if I can wait until 2011. Where's a Tardis when I need one?

Tron was one of my favorite movies when I was a child and this... this is decently appropriate.

It said IMAX 3D on the trailer that should be very cool to see how the 3D is rendered for the light cycles and other effects.
