ABC announces V will debut in November
The cast and creators of ABC's upcoming V announced Saturday that the show would premiere Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 8 p.m. in a news conference at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Pasadena, Calif. (Spoilers ahead!)
Executive producer Jeffrey Bell also promised that star Morena Baccarin, who plays the alien leader Anna, will indeed eat a rodent of some kind.
"We want to find a way to do it," Bell said, but added that if the producers simply duplicated the scene from the original miniseries, "been there, done that." He added that the new show will feature homages to other iconic moments from the original miniseries.
The new series is a re-imagining of Kenneth Johnson's classic 1980s sci-fi miniseries, about the arrival of alien "visitors" who promise to share advanced technology in exchange for friendship, but turn out to have a darker agenda.
Executive producer Scott Peters added that the producers were exploring a way to bring some of the original actors into the show, though not necessarily playing the same characters.

That's the second time I've seen that picture in a SyFy blog. I just might catch an hour or so to see if Morena Baccarin really does resemble a cross between Audrey Hepburn and Audrey Tautou. :D

When I say leave the original alone, that includes remakes, reboots or whatever other fancy term Hollywood uses to copy.
Still a copycat whichever way you look at it.
Sick of hearing about this series already.
Will be watching the original series from Kenneth Johnson on the day of the of this series' premiere.

This sounds like it will be a substantial improvement over the original. And in HD, as well, which wholly and completely justifies any and all remakes, reboots or whatever.

Whatever, bicker. HD is the sameas blu-ray. If you enjoy the entire screen blurring up whenever there is movement in a movie, go ahead & watch it. I'll stick to DVDs. Much better quality for lots less money.

i hope this show dies as well.i boycott all YARM and this is what uit is.it is the sign of thimes that hollywood has lost creativity and shovels YARM on all of us.

love this promo pic of Morena from the show. Don't care if this show survives or not but hope she finds herself on other tv series. Liked her stint on SG: Atlantis since Firefly.

The only good REMAKE or REBOOT or whatever they call it (its all the same btw) was Battlestar Galactica, everything else SUCKS.
BUT, i dont give my judgement before i saw it, i give it a try for at least half of the first season.
Give it a try and then complain if you think it sucks.
I thought the same way when Galactica came on, but was REALLY surprised how good it was and in my opinion even better then the original.

talk about a watered down version of the original (and how ANYONE could consider Kenneth Johnson's critically acclaimed ORIGINAL mini- not the sequel- as crap is truly out of their mind!) the more i hear about this version the more i long for the DARK and MENACING original... there is just nothing i find compelling in this V that doesn't cream "NETWORK TV SCIFI", no magic, nothing specail... time will tell)... However, it's rumoured KJ is close to a deal for his motion picture version of V so there IS hope!!!

I can't wait for this. The original two mini-series were breakthrough for their time period, and still hailed as among the best mini-series of all time. Now, if they can do as good on this new series as the mini-series, I'll be happy. If they copy the style of the short-lived series, this will die a quick death. Of course, I don't think the series this time around will be as bad as it was in the 80s...TV is a different beast in 2009 than it was in the 80s.

By November, "Warehouse 13" won't even be on (new episodes, I mean). There are only six episodes left, so that would put the finale date sometime in September.

I liked the original "V" series. I do hope some of the original cast can make some appearances. I thought "Diana" ate a rat. Oh well.
The trailer looks good. Though some remakes have been bad. qac9wp Will be looking the this "V".

I think this will be a good show. I don't care that it's a remake of an older show, because those of us who weren't old enough to know or remember the origional get to have a new piece of it.
