Beckinsale denies she's signed for Underworld 4
Kate Beckinsale on Friday denied widespread reports that she has signed on to a fourth Underworld film, which would begin a new trilogy in 3-D. Beckinsale told a group of reporters that she had barely even considered reprising the role of vampire/death dealer Selene.
"I haven't signed anything," Beckinsale said in a press conference today in Beverly Hills, Calif., where she was promoting the thriller Whiteout. "It was always conceived as a trilogy, which I was never going to be in the third one. I think if they came up with an amazing script or whatever, then, sure, I wouldn't be averse to it, but it's not necessarily planned."
The prospect of a new trilogy left her downright flummoxed. "God, three whole more?" she sighed. "I don't think my daughter needs to see my bottom in rubber for another 10 years."
Beckinsale is aware of development on Underworld 4, but only through the Hollywood rumor mill. "I heard they're talking about a fourth one, but I don't know if that's officially happening or if that's just a rumor," she said. "As far as I'm concerned, it's a rumor."

Well I hope she does do it, I would hate to see them put someone else in that role. Not to mention unlike her daughter I WOULD like to see her bottom in rubber for another 10 years.....

Selene is probably one of the most beloved vampires in the modern movie era, but as much as I love the Underworld movies, I would hate to watch them try to insult the series with a 3-D attempt. At least cast a capable actress to play Selene and then go with it, but stick to the core story that is Underworld and don't ruin it with a bunch of empty flash.

Does anyone doubt that Beckinsale would know if it were going forward or not? She's married to the guy who directed two of and produced all three of the franchise's movies.

First for the gentleman who thinks her name is "Beckinsdale", sorry sir it is "Beckinsale". Lars just because you haven't heard of her doesn't mean she was in obsurity, she's a great actress, check out "Pearl Harbor". As much as I liked her in this role I believe they should leave it where it is. It was a great movie series and we don't want some 3-D junk to screw up a great triology.

After True Blood on HBO I'll never be able to watch another vapid, shallow vampire movie like this franchise again.
With that being said, love Kate Beckensale since I saw in her in Broke Down Palace with Claire Danes.

I want another Underworld Trilogy, but what the hell is with Hollywood and 3D? Seriously? 3D Technology, no matter how good it gets makes the movie a GIMMICK. How can anyone seriously write and direct while having to think, Oh, we have to put stuff in here that flies at the audience. It's about stories and performances, that simple. Oh and Kate's bum in rubber too...LOL.

Kate would have NO problem reprising her role OR wearing rubber on her bottom again.
I loved her in Serendipity (chick flick alert)...a very nice piece of fluff with John Cusack.

Thank you blah. Couldn't have said it better myself. My brain had to keep grinding gears in order to make sense of it. Does anyone proof read? Though I suppose what's the point? It all makes perfect sense to some.
But anyway. I'm all for another film. And please, forget the 3D.
"3D in HD with 5.1 surround sound." Good gravy!! Could we pummel the senses any more??
