Comic Patton Oswalt signs on to Syfy's Caprica
Comedian Patton Oswalt will guest-star in Syfy's upcoming drama series Caprica, Syfy announced.
Oswalt will play Baxter Sarno, a popular Caprican comedian talk show host on whose show Daniel Graystone (Eric Stoltz) and Amanda Graystone (Paula Malcomson) ultimately appear.
Caprica, a Battlestar Galactica prequel, is currently in production in Vancouver, Canada.
Caprica will kick off with a two-hour premiere on Jan. 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and will air Fridays at 10 p.m.
Oswalt voiced the lead character in Disney/Pixar's Ratatouille.

Caprica is NOT Battlestar Galactica. Although I never watched much Galactica, I am definitely looking forward to this one. It is totally different and should be judged on its own merit without being compared to Galactica.

Don't hate on Patton Oswalt. I think you'll find that he is a great actor. Don't pass judgement on something you haven't seen yet.

The status of this show just went up having him on it. He is one of the best stand-up/writer/actor out there today. Just watch him on "king of queens", "reno 911", or any of his comedy shows. If you dont laugh or at least be entertained by his routine on the KFC Famous Bowls, or about Robert Evan's. Then just tune out!!

I just watch the pilot of BSG - Caprica. What made BSG so good were the stories, relationships, and our pursuit of answers to all of the shows mysteries. While I can't imagine Caprica having the 'bang bang - shoot em up - space blasting special effects', it will have all of the other items mentioned above and more. I am eagerly awaiting the beginning of the series with hopes that it meets my high expectations. It will be different than BSG, but, based on the pilot, it will be good!
