For SGU star David Blue, one Syfy series isn't enough
While chatting about his starring role in the upcoming series Stargate Universe, actor David Blue revealed his interest in working on a few of the other shows on Syfy. Blue is a longtime fan of the Stargate world, and he told us how thrilled he is to work with some of the stars of the earlier series.
When we brought up Amanda Tapping, who played Maj. Samantha Carter on both Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis, Blue told us how amazing she is to work with. He said he would love to appear on both her current show, Sanctuary, and a show she frequently appears on, Ghost Hunters.
"First of all, I'm a huge sci-fi geek, and there are very few shows that I wouldn't want to do something on ... [Sanctuary] seems like a fun show. Especially with the way they shoot. And I actually got to pick her brain about it. And I keep meaning to ask her what it was like to be on Ghost Hunters. I would love to do that! It would be so cool! I watched her on the season finale, and it was so cool. I keep dropping the hint when I talk to Syfy. ... Sanctuary would be fun ... they have a great vibe."
Stargate Universe premieres Oct. 2 on Syfy.

How about the cast concentrates on making SGU top notch and worthy of all the people from the SyFy cache of shows coming there to co-star before thinking of being the token co-star on some other show? Bet that this seems like the logical progression to most viewers awaiting the show. - KH

I think it's very nice that he likes other shows on the network. Honestly, what Amanda Tapping is doing on Sanctuary is very interesting and if I were in his situation, I'd want to guest on it as well both for the chance to work with her and to experience the technology involved in its production.

divephotog - you do realize that a TV series is not a year-rond gig like a normal job... right?
Blue's great. I'd like to see his enthusiasm on other shows as well.

@divephotog Putting all of your eggs in one basket as an actor is career suicide. You need to broaden your horizons and build on your resume when your main gig is not in production. If you don't you'll be in for an awful surprise if your main gig is canceled, and you could end up typecast on top of it if the public doesn't get to see you in different roles.
