Wow! Just seeing the old gang brings a tears to my eye. I really miss those SCIFI fridays. I will most likely buys these if the price is right. BRING BACK FARSCAPE NOW!
By Dogshoes at 8:01 PM ON 08/20/09
But does it include The Peace Keeper Wars Finale? If not, it isn't "complete."
By General at 8:03 PM ON 08/20/09
I HATE this. They aint getting my money for this set, cause i only recently got the previous set.
surely they could have spent their time producing something else?
By S.W. at 8:04 PM ON 08/20/09
All I can say is FINALLY! I've been waiting years for this announcement! A question tho', what is the price? And, as Dogshoes said, does it include the Peace Keeper Wars finale?
By Ravyn at 8:11 PM ON 08/20/09
No PK Wars because the rights are owned by another company. If you're getting this, just spend the extra $20 and get PK Warss too.
By jolinar at 8:57 PM ON 08/20/09
A&E Home Video? Wouldn't it be Scifi who would release it, since they produced it & released it on the airwaves.
By ImmortalJedi at 9:10 PM ON 08/20/09
What ever happened to the webisodes that was talked about a while ago? Right now, the comic books are keeping Farscape alive, but it would be nice to see some more live action.
By tati at 9:11 PM ON 08/20/09
I just realized--this isn't blu-ray :(
By smegforbrain at 9:26 PM ON 08/20/09
"A&E Home Video? Wouldn't it be Scifi "
No, they no longer have the distribution rights.
"What ever happened to the webisodes that was talked about a while ago?"
Still a work in progress, according to what was said at SDCC last month.
"I just realized--this isn't blu-ray :("
Nope, and it might never end up Blu-Ray, depending on how the SFX were done. Often, the SFX were done at an even lower resolution than the live action itself was shot in, which means it would look that much worse in HD.
It's why they went back and redid all the SFX for Star Trek: TOS.

What a waist. Farescape was shot on film, So a Blu-ray release is the only thing I will buy. DVD has gone the way of VHS for us up to date folks
By Loftwyr at 10:13 PM ON 08/20/09
I bought the box sets as they came out, the only problem is, the discs are so cheap many are now unplayable. I'm going to have to think about buying another set.

BRING BACK FARSCAPE,LISTEN TO YOUR FANS CEOs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By Alhazred at 1:43 AM ON 08/21/09
Shouldn't have cancelled it in the first place!! They replaced it with scare tactics I remember. What BS!!!!!!
By Rom2099 at 1:58 AM ON 08/21/09
I spoke with several of the stars (including Ben Browder) in February this year and I was told that the delay on the webisodes was that the producers were talking with Browder and Black about a mini-series. Browder chimed in, "or a feature film..." and got a little ribbing from the other actors. In short, I believe the producers are trying to shop out a better forum to return Farscape to the fans - not just some webisodes. Keep fingers crossed. BRING BACK FARSCAPE !!!!! (and all fans should buy a set of these DVDs to show there is fiscal support out there for a return)
By Akuma63 at 5:00 AM ON 08/21/09
Set is available for pre-order at Amazon for $104.99, Peace Keeper Wars is listed at $8.49. All around cheaper than if you purchased the ADV versions.
By walt at 9:06 AM ON 08/21/09
oh Rom, that tease made my day!
Farscape definitely needs another chapter, if not chapters.

I've bought the dvd series why couldn't they put it on Blu Ray? DVD is becoming dated people aren't spending the money they used to on DVD's they are more likely to buy it on a new format especialy after there have been 3 previous dvd collections

"DVD is becoming dated, people aren't spending the money they used to on DVD's, they are more likely to buy it on a new format."
For those lucky to have a Blu-Ray player.
I'd rather just get the DVD version. I'm not willing to buy a Blu-Ray player just to get one thing. And besides that, I'd also have to get Blu-Ray versions of the movies I already have. I'm already low on money, I'm not going to go down that road. At least not yet.

Farscape was the best thing that SciFi channel ever put out. A miniseries or a feature film would be most welcome. Do it quickly before some Hollywood dumbass decides to "remake" it starring Will Ferrel as John Crichton and with a hip-hop redux of D'Argo.
By MN at 12:52 PM ON 08/21/09
List for $149.95 but is 30% off at Amazon!
By richardetyler at 2:26 PM ON 08/21/09
BRING back Farscape! A two hour movie at the theatres would make some serious money and would be an awesome tribute to fans!
By Katie at 2:38 PM ON 08/21/09
If Sci-Fi hadnt cancelled the series, when still in its prime and creating original ideas, we wouldnt be so desparate for more...:-(. Perhaps that was the beginning, that led us to the end as a poor shadow of Sci-Fi called...Sy...I can't even type it. I just pray that the new effort being talked about to launch a competing channel takes off. Has everyone here been to www.syfyi.com yet? As a woman, I don't want dumbed down "syfy" content catered to me with a new channel name. I'm a sci-fi geek and proud of it!!! Go Farscape!!!
By Scapecast at 2:41 PM ON 08/21/09
Agreed: Bring back Farscape!
Don't forget about the comics currently being produced by BOOM! Studios, continuing the story from right after the end of Peacekeeper Wars.

You do know Blu-Ray players will upscale DVD's to 1080p so no you dont need to replace what you allready have

I been waiting for Farscape for far too long, I can't wait to have this set. I was actually pretty close to purchasing the complete series from the UK and just buying a non-region DVD player, lucky this is coming out now. As far as Bluray, I don't think its the future, several tech sites say its just Sony trying to bilk more money from people. Downloading in HD is the future, physical format discs are what's being squeezed out. Though I admit I still buy DVD's and then convert them to have the files on my hard drive. So you "up to date people"...are a step behind..
By frelling_cute at 1:53 AM ON 08/23/09
Someone posted above that DVD's are going the way of VHS?
Nope. Because DVD are still outselling the unneeded Blu Ray. The quality is not that great and mine look fine on up converting DVD player.
Anyway, this is a great price for a whole series. Remember the Star Trek Series went for a $100.00 a season which was way over priced. I hope new people find this great show. A lot of fun.
By jolinar at 10:45 AM ON 08/23/09
I'll buy it to watch the early episodes & a few episodes I missed during the 4th season; of which I became a fan (like the egyptian episode)!!!
By Onesubset at 9:38 PM ON 08/24/09
IF UR A FARSCAPE FAN U BETTER BUY THIS WE MAY NEVER GET THE SHOW BACK . I LOVE FARSCAPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By Where's my Remote at 10:35 AM ON 08/25/09
I am looking forward to this. It's a shame Farscape got canceled in the first place.
I'll buy the DVDs. No comment on Blu ray other than to say I don't own a player and would not buy one just for this series even though I have great affection for Farscape.
Bring it back to TV. A movie is great, but that would not be enough for me.
Why is hollyweird so afraid of original content?
By chinga at 8:01 AM ON 08/26/09
I almost bought the UK Ultimate Collection, but then it went out of print. Finally we get this wonderful news! but why the awful cover-art?! FS was such a creative show - it deserves a more creative cover art!!! ;( the UK Collection looked so much more elegant...
By LTM at 4:50 AM ON 09/21/09
To think I was at some point about to buy the 250 pound ( $400.00) ultimate collection from Amazon U.K just to have the collection, even though I'm in the U.S. Buying it for $105 and the Peacekeeper wars for $10 is such a bargain. Hoping Battlestar galactica drops at some point from $175.00 to around the same price as Farscape.
By Venomous soul at 7:40 PM ON 11/29/09
