Watch the new Stargate Universe trailer
A new trailer for Syfy's Stargate Universe hit movie theaters over the weekend, playing before Halloween II and The Final Destination 3D—but you can see it here without shelling out for a ticket.
Stargate Universe, which premieres as a two-hour movie event Oct. 2 at 9 p.m., follows the adventures of explorers who find themselves trapped on a never-ending mission aboard the Destiny, a ship built by the Ancients, when the crew learns the ship can't return to Earth.

Anyone else get this to play? I get sound but for video its just a screen that says Loading....

I also have sen the trailer on sify but there I missed a bit at the beginning, there are suppose to be two people at the door where there is one with sunglasses and one a skinny one with a beard and that is the one who tels the kid that they beam up in space,?????? I hafe sen it Yesterday on a other place on the web.

from the trailer the plot seems similar to battlestar galactica. People in space trying to find their way home while overcoming space-faring difficulties.

I have recently posted on the comments thread for another SGU article, so I may seem like a 'Troll' as well...but hopefully not. In anycase, I had the chance to see this SGU trailer on the Big Screen and I was almost upset at the fact that I would not be able to see every SGU episode in the same manner. My home theater system stinks, to say the least.
I won't go on about my views concerning how good I think the series will be, blah blah blah, as I've already done that on 'too' many threads and forums, and even as a SG fan I'm spent in that regard. However, I will say that even though this recent trailer, to some, may paint a BSG sort of style, I don't think it will go in that dramatic a direction. I'd say... more action coupled with some drama and humor.
In point of fact, I would say that in style and tone the writers and company are going more for a setting and direction more akin to the Bioware RPG title Mass Effect. For anyone who has played said game, I'm sure you'll agree -hopefully- that a direction like that would not be a bad way to go.

Video didn't work here and still doesn't work on the link provided; I get a black screenh. My guess is NBCU/Hulu are doing some kind of Windows-specific thing to try and make sure no one can record their shows or skip their ads, and that screws us non-Windows-users.
Luckily, someone's already put it up on Youtube with no commercial before the commercial.

Why would they have the Goa'uld in SG:Universe? Haven't they moved beyond that tired, unimaginative "alien threat" yet?
