Warehouse 13 continues to set rating records for Syfy. The show's sixth episode, "Burnout," which aired on Aug. 11, was the most watched series telecast in the network's 17-year history, with a total viewership of 4.4 million.
The previous record for the most-watched series telecast on Syfy had been the fifth episode of Warehouse 13, aired the previous week.
More than 1 million of the 4.4 million total viewership came via DVR playback.
The six episodes of Warehouse 13 broadcast to that date, including full Live + 7 DVR data, all rank in the top 10 most watched series telecasts ever on Syfy.
In head-to-head competition in the 9 p.m. (ET/PT) time slot, Warehouse 13 outperformed TNT's Hawthorne by +24 percent in Adults 25-54, +11 percent in total viewers, and +9 percent in Adults 18-49.
Warehouse 13 follows two Secret Service agents who find themselves abruptly transferred to a massive, top-secret storage facility in windswept South Dakota that houses every strange artifact, mysterious relic, fantastical object and supernatural souvenir ever collected by the U.S. government. The Warehouse's caretaker, Artie (Saul Rubinek), charges Pete (Eddie McClintock) and Myka (Joanne Kelly) with chasing down reports of supernatural and paranormal activity in search of new objects to cache at the Warehouse, as well as helping him to control the warehouse itself.
Warehouse 13 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, only on Syfy.

I'm glad for the success. The show has the right blend of interesting storylines, humor and chemistry between the actors.
By Kryche at 6:45 PM ON 08/31/09
Wish I could see the appeal. I just can't get past the first 5 minutes of an episode before falling asleep.
I probably should just cancel my season pass so I stop helping Scifi to inflate their DVR numbers by 1. :p
By Omen at 6:50 PM ON 08/31/09
I hope they will come to cons.
As oppose to the cast of that other series on Fridays.
By tati at 7:04 PM ON 08/31/09
I like the show, well enough but--it's not up against very stiff competition, right now. I have a feeling the numbers wouldn't be so hot if we were deep into the fall TV season :P
By Stephen at 7:10 PM ON 08/31/09
I like the show. I don't need socially redeeming values--> I'm 60 yrs old. I like alittle fanatasy escapism, likable characters, interesting story lines, a little fun - but some seriousness, etc. This show has the right mix. It's not meant to be a 5 star Hollywood "take my values or else" show. Just some fun escapism. I love it. Enjoy - just don't try to make it more than what it really is.

"Look at these people – amazing how sheep’ll
Show up for the slaughter
No one condemning you – lined up like lemmings
You led to the water
Why can’t they see what I see? Why can’t they hear the lies?
Maybe the fee’s too pricey for them to realize
Your disguise is slipping
I think you’re slipping"
By photoguy_ryan at 7:37 PM ON 08/31/09
Dont get me wrong. I like the show. Its one of the few shows SCIFI can be proud of.
I will happily watch the show, whether its on SCIFI, or bopped over to USA, or another network.
But, I will be more impressed if you can give us more than 2 decent shows a week in OCT/NOV, and maintain some ratings.
Wrestling, ghost searches, adults playing wanna besuperhero, the "original" 21st century "b" scifi movies taking up weekends, et al... all have to go.
New shows are hard to come by. Cool, open the checkbook up, and bring up classics that arent on every cable channel already.
Space 1999, classic dr who, babylon 5, and so many more.
Please!
By suprememango at 7:43 PM ON 08/31/09
At the first episode I wasn't hooked. But it has got consistently better. The relationships between the main cast has been developing and Claudia the genius rebel is so much fun and a wonderful addition.
I will agree with photoguy in that I would like to see more classic sci fi. Why not an entire classic sci fi network? think about it
By jnickj6 at 7:56 PM ON 08/31/09
This show is really, REALLY smart. I appreciate the great story lines, the intelligent banter between the characters and the excellent casting. I was hooked from the very first previews and can't understand the negative comments on here--then again, not everyone appreciates the same things; thus the variety that is cable television.
Some people are never pleased--regardless of what you hand them--they'll find fault with anything and everything. Bless their dried up little hearts.

Love this show!
By Wofltech at 8:27 PM ON 08/31/09
You should renew it... oh.. and a crossover with Eureka would just rock (I know several of the cast are guest starring, but it would be cool Myka and Pete come to Eureka chasing an artifact... or even cooler, Claudia :)
By Kryche at 9:10 PM ON 08/31/09
It has already been renewed for 13 episodes.
By Pat at 9:27 PM ON 08/31/09
I enjoy the show and am happy for the success. That means it will stay on and not get replaced by another god awful show. I totally agree with photo_guy - get rid of the reality show, shlocky movies, wrestling and give us more quality series. New or recycled. Please
By divephotog at 9:33 PM ON 08/31/09
I have been watching, and have great hopes for the series. It is one of 2 shows I watchon SyFy presently, the other being Eureka, so it is not a surprise that this show is doing well. I mean, with nothing else on the channel, it is going to be the leader, right? But put it against BSG or another heavy hitter, and it would not do as well. - KH
By Nightmoon at 9:34 PM ON 08/31/09
Well, there is that remnants of an artifact in Section 5, I think... although if it is still there I have no idea how they are going to get that thing hauled out the door of Global Dynamics to western South Dakota ;-)
By Samuel 739 at 9:36 PM ON 08/31/09
It's a fun show to watch week after week, the addition of Claudia was brilliant; surprisingly, the pilot has been the only low-point. My favorite line in BURNOUT is from Claudia, giving the Vulcan salute: "WAREHOUSE 13: THE NEXT GENERATION."
I am glad there's only 13 episodes per season: any more, and it would lose its appeal quickly. When BSG went up to 20 per season, much of its energy and story-telling drive was diluted, it wasn't as taut as it should've been. I fear the same from CAPRICA, but it's still wait and see.
By farscaper at 10:58 PM ON 08/31/09
it sure helps ratings when the same episode is on about 16 times a month. Come on, it's only one about 4 times a week. Sure, if you add them up you get the highest rated show blah blah....
By duneboat at 10:58 PM ON 08/31/09
@photoguy:
yes, someone actually mentioned Space 1999! thanks for the memories, but you don't really think syfy would actually bring back a classic such as this?
By Dreugan at 11:12 PM ON 08/31/09
Uh Farscaper.. they take into account only the ratings for its Tuesday time slot. Maybe you should google nielsen ratings and learn how they work before posting.
By vlhess at 11:29 PM ON 08/31/09
@ Stephen - I agree completely!!!! It's fun to watch. No one should take TV seriuosly! :-)
By EyesUnderTheBed at 1:37 AM ON 09/01/09
I want monsters and intensity. The X-files had the right blend of stories like these and the serious "I'm gonna-eat-you-and-burp" monsters in the woods, which also had to be stopped/killed. I miss that. Whether or not there is an artifact involved, the unusual deaths should also draw this team. BTW, the different artifact each week is lame. It smacks so much of Friday the 13th the series, which was about artifacts sold from an occult store that had to be rounded up. It's just a blatant formula like Brimstone. X number of demons have escaped. You must round them up.
Last, like Torchwood and Doctor Who, such an important and high level and well-funded and powerful organization has too few employees. They could at least have anonymous guards and janitors there. As it is, some kids could slip in there and destroy the world. Stargate was very good about this, even better than the original movie about the scale of the operation.

TOP NEWS:
Nielson now reports on DVR usage, counts those users too. In total UNRELATED news, TV stations across the nation report record numbers.
If anything, it tells the tale of people wanting to watch their favorite series when THEY want, not when TV schedulers want.
By J at 5:02 AM ON 09/01/09
Blimey, they're really plugging this show...
By discusdiva1044 at 8:08 AM ON 09/01/09
I wonder if they count dvr recordings, or if it's actually watched after being recorded, because my dvr will annoyingly record it every time they play it over the week. (maybe I need to wait til the next week before deleting it) So I only watch it once, but if you count the dvr recordings, it would appear I have watched it five times.
By Keith at 8:16 AM ON 09/01/09
I was pumped when they played Portishead a few weeks back. Also, when they played White Rabbit in the looking glass episode.
By Yo at 9:19 AM ON 09/01/09
You know, I watch this show and *want* to like it, but it's just not clicking with me. I loved X-files, BSG, Farscape, Firefly... I like Caudia's character, which is probably why I'm hanging on, but I'm losing interest. Too many stretches. First they're in this warehouse in Dakota, then 5 minutes later they're walking into some apartment in New York it seems. And they have yet to explain why any of these items obtained special powers (magic? supernatural?) and why no one else seems to notice. But apparently some goo subdues their effect? WTF?
By tauvix at 9:26 AM ON 09/01/09
@discusdiva1044: The ratings take into account the DVR numbers only if the show is watched during a 7 day period. When you record the show it notes the day and time the show was recorded. Then when you watch it it reports back to your cable company the show you played, and what day/time it was recorded.
So, the numbers above are exclusively for the Tuesday night airing of the show.
By Joe B. at 10:36 AM ON 09/01/09
And to think!!! It's all because they changed their name to SyFy!!! If it was still SciFi it would have done much worse.
By griffon at 10:45 AM ON 09/01/09
I agree with Stephen, though I am a couple of years younger. It is pure escapism and fun... and it beats watching the news. I don't thing it would be as popular againsit the networks shows like "Who want to make a deal to be an idol dancing with a star"... which is the same problem CHUCK has had, but it has made the summer more fun. I also agree with others that there are a lot of old shows that we be more SyFy orientented than wrestling, ghost hunters, etc. and probably wouldn't cost any more to air. Space 1999, UFO, Man from UNCLE (which is more sci-fi than wrestling) Probe/Search, etc. Maybe we just need a viewer driven rerun channel... :)
By jonmillbrook75 at 10:47 AM ON 09/01/09
It is nice to see Jack Kenny get a break as a producer of the show. He was a good actor in high school. I hope he will appear in an episode if he hasn't already.
By Be Real at 11:21 AM ON 09/01/09
C'mon SyFy, you have to realize that the ratings have more to do with the timeslot and time of year that you are airing it, than the quality of the show. WH13 is decent, but in NO way better than SG1, Atlantis, BSG. If you would have placed any one of those shows on Tuesdays in the summer they would have received even better ratings. You can't expect a show to dominate when it is on Fridays. Just ask Joss Whedon how Fridays have faired for his shows. Give SGU a mid-summer Tuesday timeslot and see how well it does.
By Allison&Jack at 11:50 AM ON 09/01/09
What I like is they are now counting DVR viewers, as well as crowing about having the highest viewers in their history by what 200,000 thousand viewers or so?
If I remember right, Farscape had a little over 4 million viewers, without counting DVR viewers (the kind of viewers the advertisers actually want, the ones that have to sit through commercials). So Warehouse 13 barely beats out Farscape, and has to include DVR viewership to do it. Sigh.
By Jerra at 1:26 PM ON 09/01/09
You know, while I don't think this show is overtly fantastic, it does keep me entertained and I really like the two main characters. I'm one of the biggest X-Files fans that you'll ever meet, but there's just no comparison if that's what you're trying to go for. But on it's own merit, it's decent.
By WatchesEverything at 9:30 AM ON 09/02/09
Love the characters. Really loved the Red Shirt joke from last week.

What can I say but love it, love it, love it! First series I've dedicated myself to watching in easily three yrs. Please Syfy keep it coming :)
By Snookie at 2:59 PM ON 09/19/09
The show is great. Love the characters! The mix of comedy, drama and action are just right! Keep up the great job everyone! I am kind of bummed that next week is the season finale already. Would love a couple more epis.

I too loved the show and agree that it featured a good mix of comedy, drama, action -- and good actor chemistry. A good mix of actors playing the right roles.. I'm looking forward to more Warehouse 13. If you all want to talk about something stupid -- why not discuss the worthless change from SciFi to SyFy!
