E.T. house almost burned in L.A. fires

\<i\>E.T.\<\/i\> house almost burned in L.A. fires

Not to take away from the very real devastation, the loss of homes and the deaths of firefighters, but yesterday we came close to losing the home where a good chunk of E.T. was filmed, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

According to reports, flames from the fires were headed toward 7121 Lonzo St. in Tujunga, which served as the residence of Elliot (Henry Thomas) and Gertie (Drew Barrymore) in the 1981 Steven Spielberg film and sits on a cul-de-sac with hills in the back. Later in the afternoon, AP reported that the fire was receding, with the owner of the house no longer being able to see the flames.

Tony Piwowar, who has lived in the house since 1987, says the charred hill behind it in the Seven Hills neighborhood now looks like 'the surface of the moon.'" Piwowar says he evacuated his wife and pets, but stayed behind with his son to monitor the fire.

The fires are about 22% contained.

Not wanting to say anything about ET, but so?? Lots of homes have burned, and more have been and are still in danger.

I dont think the house qualifys as special in any way.

In the movie, when Elliot is paying for the pizzas in the driveway....in the background is a song playing. The guys singing were The Persuasions. They NEVER got any royalties for this!! Spielburg did not pay them a dime!

@Photoprinter

I'm having difficulty seeing what connection you are drawing to this story?

Unless, possibly, you mean that since the Persuasions were burned the pizza should be too?
