Jeff Foxworthy to voice Babe the Blue Ox

Jeff Foxworthy to voice Babe the Blue Ox

Comedian and Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? host Jeff Foxworthy will be the voice of Paul Bunyan's companion Babe the Blue Ox in MGM's upcoming animated feature Bunyan & Babe, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film will be an updating of the American tall tale favorite, with giant lumberjack Paul Bunyan, to be voiced by Monsters, Inc. vet John Goodman, and his faithful blue pal apparently giving up their deforestation-happy ways to halt the plans of an unethical real estate developer, to be voiced by Sideshow Bob himself, Kelsey Grammer.

The feature is written by Michael A. Nickles and Julia Wall. Veteran animator Tony Bancroft, one of the directors of Mulan, and Oscar-winning special effects artist Jim Rygiel are set to direct.

Bunyan & Babe is set for release in 2011.

You know you're a blue ox when a really big guy with an ax pulls you out of a frozen snowbank.

From the sounds of this movie, they should have just gone ahead and had Algore do the voice of Paul Bunyan.
