First a bomb scare, now this: The first image of Seth Rogen and Jay Chou in full costume as The Green Hornet and Kato, courtesy of SplashNews; click for a larger version after the jump.
Now we know there's a lot of animosity toward Rogen for taking on this franchise, but honestly: He does kinda look like the character, right? (Go to SplashNews for the full image.)
Rogen plays Britt Reid, the newspaper entrepreneur by day and masked superhero by night. Jay Chou takes over the role of chauffeur/martial-arts expert Kato, Cameron Diaz is Lenore Case, and Inglourious Basterds' Christoph Waltz plays the villain, Chudnofsky. Rogen has described the script, which he wrote with partner Evan Goldberg, as the story of a hero and his sidekick. Michel Gondry directs. Green Hornet opens Dec. 17, 2010.

Umm... Seth rogen is the one sat behind that guy.... its obvious its not him in the mask.

Actually, if you look at the rest of the images on SpalshNews, the guy sitting down in the background is obviously a stunt double, Rogen is definitely the one in the mask.

As long as he doesn't turn the movie into a bad parody, I couldn't care much less for how he looks.

So that is what a fat ass version of The Hornet looks like… since I am a die hard fan (one perk to video clerking during high school was finding the show), I knew to stay away from this but now I have ammo to convince my friends to do the same.

Obviously you haven't seen Seth Rogen lately. He has been seriously training for this movie and slimmed down a lot! He looks healthy, not skinny!!

I recall fanboys having the same sort of conniption fit waaay back when Tim Burton announced his choice for Batman was Michael Keaton.
While Keaton obviously was not the best Batman, he was also not the disaster that everyone thought he would be.
Give Rogen his shot.

"Fatass" version? If you watched the show like you said then you know that the Green Hornet did very little...the muscle of the show was Kato and the car. Also Seth Rogen is far from fatass anymore.

I don't know all that much about Rogen other than him being a 'comedian'. But, I also have been a die hard fan for well over twenty years...I even have a Hornet mask that I bought many, many years back.
I still would rather have seen George Clooney don the mask..too bad he turned it down for Batman.
I would love to work on the movie...hell, from what I hear, I'm about the same height and size as Rogen is, would be cool to be his photo double (stand-in).

HELLO HOLYWOOD? we dont want this movie to be a comedy. we want blood violence girls and grenads? and i ca'nt believe they had the same guy who wrote nite at the museem write this? its not even the same johnra! get ride of this shmuk, get a real actor liked adam sandler

The two of them in costume look like kids dressed up for Halloween - even the guy in the Kato costume doen;t look the role. The costumes look crappy (and Rogen's character shoul dbe wearing gloves).
This just keeps getting worse.
