Kinda incoherrent guys. I see here 16 costumes, some of which are arguably in poor taste, some of which might be worth a second thought before wearing to work, some kind of inappropriate for body type (some consciously/ironically, some sadly not), but a few of these costumes are pretty well done.

Twi'lek girl is clearly at a con (and if that's her "job" I think she'll be fine), "clawchest" is obviously at a con or a well-set party/photo shoot, Replicant from Bladerunner is obviously NSF(most)W but is pretty well done. And who's going to take their alien chestburst baby to the office?

I guess what I see here is a collection of costumes that push one to ask "what were they thinking" but a good number of these are actually pretty well thought out. Lumping them together on the "fired" theme is a bit weak IMHO.

Just curious, is the SciFiWire Halloween party subject to the same puritanical standards you claim the rest of the working world is?

By jdmimic at 12:22 PM ON 10/30/09

Ok, fire all the guys, but can I work where the women dress like most of those costumes?:) Talk about not getting ANY work done.
Despite the complaints some people made about the illegal alien costume, I don't see anything wrong with it. People should be less anxious to find something to take offense at.

Looks like Lelu is packin and I don't mean her gun!

By Sithboy at 1:09 PM ON 10/30/09

that chestburster baby is SO photoshopped

By Krazy Joe at 1:41 PM ON 10/30/09

There's nothing wrong with the Illegal Alien costume. That one wouldn't get you fired.

By me at 2:30 PM ON 10/30/09

Could they find uglier people? GAH!

How about some sources, "Sci Fi Wire Staff"?

Even though I'm sure the photographers / subjects / source sites don't mind you ripping them off for your own gain and profit.

Quit making bloggers look bad.

Get out of your mom's basement much guys?

By Omen at 7:13 PM ON 10/30/09

Agreed Supergirl can't go to the office.
So I'll just have to take her home for the Halloween weekend.

By REDante at 7:51 PM ON 10/30/09

Second picture down right above the photo of the Star Wars alien slave, she was like totally one of my teachers from school. I cant believe shes on here. The guys from school are going to freak when they see this. This might confirm the rumors.........

By BadBoy at 8:28 PM ON 10/30/09

I've seen a lot of those costumes at Comic Con and some even more risque there. One year a girl was wearing almost nothing in some kind of costume talking to Lou Ferrigno (Incredible Hulk) and Lou looked very interested in her nearly bare chest!

By BadBoy at 8:32 PM ON 10/30/09

Here is a photo from Comic Con of the girl with the costume that Lou Ferrigno there liked very much:

Well with your lack of correct spelling and puncuation I doubt you' re even a teenager.

And on the off chance you are a parent, I weep openly for your kids!

The Flash, Wonder Woman, and Spider-Man costumes might subject the people who wear them to ridicule but I don't see why they'd get them fired. The Wolverine costume might but only if those blades on the end of his fingers are real.

The illegal alien costume is actually quite hilarious but it probably would get the person who wore it fired—only because most companies are anal about political correctness and are afraid that somebody without a sense of humor might sue. Sears or Target or whoever it was are cowards for taking that costume off the shelf.

the spiderman one is definitly NSFW what you can't tell due to where they cut off the picture is he is wearing nothing but body paint.

You are aware, faythan, that spider man's "costume" is body paint, right?
