The CW says yes to more Vampire Diaries
Good news, fans of The CW's Vampire Diaries: The network has ordered a full season of the teen vamp drama, according to a report in The Los Angeles Times.
The drama—from executive producer Kevin Williamson and based on L.J. Smith's best-selling series of books—is a full-fledged hit for the network, delivering 3.8 million viewers in its most recent episode (and a 1.8 rating/5 share among adults ages 18 to 49), the Times reported
And just to be accurate: Vampire Diaries predates Twilight, so it's not just a bandwagon thing.
Guess that flashing incident a while back didn't hurt the show.

Why are you continuing to write about this teenage series (and the Twillight crap!). It has NOTHING to do with anything "SciFi Wire" or Vampires.
It's frigging Beverly Hills or something.
Are you going to report on Fame next, because
when the dancers Jump its like they are flying?
The only "SciFi Wire" which could be done are if the decide to do a horrormovie about the dudes eyebrows, they are pure evil!!!

It's still a bandwagon thing since the books came out years ago with no tv series. Twlight made that happen.

This is good news. This show blends old 60's drama (like Dark Shadows) with our youth of today to make for a great mix. Blending of the old and new is really working for this show.

I have noticed the Dark Shadows similarity also -- the frequent trips back in time, the heroine being a reincarnation of the vampire’s love, etc. I hope they continue doing this. Bring on the witches, ghosts, and werewolves! This show is a lot of fun.

Even though I'm likely way too old for this show, I just love it LOL I've ordered all the books because of it.
