THE WATERS OF MARS - SYNOPSIS
Lindsay Duncan (Alice and Wonderland, Rome) joins the Doctor as his sharpest and most strong-minded companion yet for the second of four Doctor Who Specials. The Waters of Mars is a dark, scary thriller that sees the Doctor land on the planet Mars, at a base in peril. A creeping infection beneath the Martian surface threatens not only the human race, but also the Doctor's most fundamental beliefs. Together with Adelaide Brooke (Lindsay Duncan), the base's commander, the Doctor must defeat a seemingly unstoppable menace before it can reach Earth, and wipe out mankind. The Doctor must fight not only the water but destiny itself... while also confronting his own existence, when the prophesy about his future begins to resonate. Is his song about to come to an end? The Waters of Mars is written by Russell T Davies (Torchwood, Queer as Folk) and Phil Ford and directed by Graeme Harper. The executive producers are Russell T Davies and Julie Gardner (Torchwood, Life on Mars).

Dug the preview BUT to list the actors to appear in The End of Time in the press release kind of gives away the "whats all this then" surprise set up by the video. Either way, looking forward to Tennant's command performance as the Doctor.

Sweet, now when are they going to air "Dreamland"

So how much time has passed since Waters of Mars? Enough to get married to Professor River Song, and Queen Buess (or they the same?). He doesn't look like he has aged. Did you notice that he still had his sonic screwdriver? He gave his more advanced looking to one Rives Song so he for some reason goes back to using a less advance one (writer's glitch). Anyway, the Laws of Time now about the Doctor. But, if they obey the Doctor, guess what? THEY WILL ALSO OBEY THE MASTER! The Doctor and the Master are going to have the biggest clash ever. Of course, Donna saves the day, but not Doctor's life.

I'm going to miss David's Doctor!
By ChayneLightning at 6:23 PM ON 11/20/09
Sheep,
no one says he doesn't give River Song his screwdriver in his next regeneration. (SPOILER - She will be back in the next series)
Also he said he got married to Queen Bess.
Queen Bess is Queen Elizabeth I, who ruled in england in the 16th century.
Her nickname (alluded to in the clip) was the Virgin Queen, because in history she never did marry. A pretty cheeky joke for the parents watching Christmas evening in the UK.
The Laws of TIme don't obey they are obeyed. They were enforced by the Time Lords. in Waters of Mars, when he talked about the Laws of Time, he meant that since the Time Lords were only him now, he could choose how and if they were followed.

I hate repeating myself but I am so glad SyFy stopped showing Doctor Who. With then we would be lucky to the Christmas specials in march or April. With BBC America we get it day after they see it in the UK. Awesome stuff

So does Sci Fi like rubbing our noses into Dr. Who? I don't get BBC America and I don't know anyone who does. Does anyone actually get this cable network? I think it's just a myth to fool us all!!!
By Cris at 8:13 PM ON 11/20/09
Sorry Joe, I get BBS America, and both major cable providers in my area carry it.
Of course, there are >ahem
By Roadking at 8:54 PM ON 11/20/09
Joe B. GET SATELLITE TV. Directv carries it, and I believe so does Dish....better than cable anyway.
By spaceage whizkid at 9:31 PM ON 11/20/09
yes, Dish Network carries BBC America. part of its silver package.
By Iso at 4:40 AM ON 11/21/09
Why do they keep calling it a "re-imagining"? It's just a continuation of the original series. A re-imagining is what they did with Planet of the Apes in 2001 and Battlestar Galactica in 2003.
By sparrowlord01 at 12:19 PM ON 11/21/09
I've had Directv and Dish. Both were overpriced and a real pain in the butt. I finally got Digital cable and I have no problems. I get just about every channel out there. I do think they should offer BBC America as a basic channel though. Then more people would see it.
By sjc1963 at 4:50 PM ON 11/21/09
Can't watch the clip...... In wrong country (Canada) it would appear. [sad]
I wish they would provide links without these silly restrictions.

I don't get BBC America!!!!!! I want to see the Dr.!!! But, the more that I think about it, the syfy channel is not worthy to broadcast this show:)

I don"t want another Doctor! I"m going to miss David Tennant.
By devilsbolt at 5:55 PM ON 11/22/09
i also miss tennant as the doctor and cant wait to see the final episodes, but what about the time war episodes i saw previews of staring the 8th, 9th,and 10th doctors?
By rodee at 6:49 AM ON 11/23/09
I miss David already. I'm not to sure if I will continue with the new series without him. I know that isn't fair to the new doctor, change is hard, and even harder when you like someone.
By AngryJonny at 10:35 AM ON 11/23/09
I love Tennant's Doctor; his performance is absolutely brilliant. But I've been watching Doctor Who since the '70s, and It's pretty much the same case with every new Doctor: "I'll miss the old one so much, and who the heck is this new guy?!" (well, maybe not with Colin Baker). :) It's understandable. So, yes, I'll miss Tennant a great deal, but I'll give Matt Smith a chance.
