For weeks there have been leaks that one of the major characters who's been with Heroes since season one is getting killed off. But will it be the Sylar-on-the-brain Matt Parkman or the already dead Nathan Petrelli or the brain-tumored Hiro or the who-the-heck-am-I Sylar?
Well, stop reading and go off and live in a cave for a while if you really don't want to know which actor and character will soon be history on the NBC series. (Spoiler ahead!)
Executive producer Adam Armus danced around the subject during a recent interview. After he spilled the beans, he swore me to secrecy, and I promised not to reveal who was going to die until the cat was let out of the bag. Well, the cat clawed her way out of that bag, and it's now been reported in several outlets that Adrian Pasdar is the unlucky guy and that his character, Nathan Petrelli, will bite the dust before the year's end. E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos also reported that Pasdar learned about his character's exit not from a phone call, but from a script.
"We all know that Nathan Petrelli last year was killed, and his mind was put into Sylar's body and shape-shifted into Nathan," said Armus. "We made some commitments last year, and we've committed that there is going to be an epic battle between two characters and who's going to win and who's going to lose. That's something we've been planning all this year. So we know that someone has to lose."
"This whole Sylar-in-one-body-and-his-mind-in-another with Matt Parkman, all that's going to come to a head, because ultimately Sylar is going to win. He's ultimately going to get out of Matt Parkman's head and get back into his body," said Armus. Which would mean it's not looking good for Nathan. Somehow, even on a show called Heroes, Nathan's flying ability probably won't be a lot of help to him if he doesn't have a body.
"Once Nathan and Sylar come back together, there is a battle for the life of that body. Who is going to be in control? And whoever loses is the one that dies," said Armus. "It's the knock-down-drag-out 'Who's going to win this body?', and it's going to be between Peter and Nathan/Sylar. And Peter's going to be fighting for his brother." And obviously not winning.
Heroes airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Well, hopefully they can find some way to give peter his balls back so he will be man enough to fight sylar otherwise he will get his ass kicked pretty quickly. They need to do something before this series goes the way of the dodo. I have stuck by it since the beginning and now it just seems to be floundering.

What is this is a red herring and the one who actually dies is Sylar because Quinto is leaving to focus on making more Star Trek movies?
By MadKat at 12:53 PM ON 11/03/09
The dude has "died" at the end of every season of HEROES. It was feeling like a running gag. But since his physical body apparently die the last time, this news seems a little anti-climactic. Still, I'm kinda relieved we won't be losing another character. TV shows are way too blood thirsty these days and it gets depressing watching characters you've come to care for die.

This season has been very enigmatic, and seems so in contrast to the past seasons, where we had real goals to see for the crew (save the cheerleader, the world, or each other). This season it is wandering around in a carnival mirror maxe, and while some of what is seen is great, the rest is distorted, and without a real end goal (not even to get out of the maze).

I'm just relieved that they're actually willing to kill a character. People have almost died / been resurrected / transported into new bodies so many times that it's hard to care if there aren't any actual consequences.
Nathan's a good character, but it's time to shake up the status quo.

Does this mean that Hiro and Suresh survive this season?
By Sithboy at 1:54 PM ON 11/03/09
Well, thanks for the spoiler warning, unfortunately it came a little LATE after the photograph, which spoils last night's cliffhanger ending that left Mohindar Suresh looking like the unlucky one.

I believe the picture is from last season.
By snooz at 2:10 PM ON 11/03/09
Snooze. Heroes ceased to be relevant about 2 episodes into season 2
By Darkstrad at 2:17 PM ON 11/03/09
They kill a dead guy, kind of a BS cop-out.
By Gsizz at 2:26 PM ON 11/03/09
I'm with you snooz...the first season was great until the finale. Season 2 held my interest for a handful of episodes before I jumped ship. There are too many things wrong with that show to even begin a rant.
By BladeArtist at 2:34 PM ON 11/03/09
Well, I'm actually kind of happy with the latest episode.
I don't really care about this "who dies" BS, now that they seem to be getting things back on track again.
I mean, I like the whole character exploration thing they did with Noah and Hiro, diving deeper into their inner selves.. Hiro with his moral struggle, Noah exploring his feelings.. etc.

To be honest, from where I'm standing, it looks like Adrian Pasdar has the best agent of that whole cast.
By Roger Workman at 2:53 PM ON 11/03/09
This just in! Dead "Heroes" character set to die sometime soon! More at 11.
By Seanbtwo at 4:15 PM ON 11/03/09
I imagine that Peter will at some point touch Sylar and get all of his abilities (and then some) back......and it's about fraking time. The pointless-do good-dipshit Peter has really been wearing thin.
By Timbo at 4:41 PM ON 11/03/09
Well, this isnt surprising since the character died last season. Last week or so they make it sound like some big deal about who is going to die, and gee wouldnt you know, its a character that already dead. Again, no surprise there.
By kizer at 5:55 PM ON 11/03/09
Everybody grab a knife we are off to kill a dead guy.
By partisan at 6:48 PM ON 11/03/09
Is there some way we can kill all of them off?...Seriously...please?
By nate91111 at 8:12 PM ON 11/03/09
SOUTH PARK!!!!!!!!!
By macmikey at 8:37 PM ON 11/03/09
@Seanbtwo, I think Peter touched Sylar at the end of season 3 (when he--Peter--had shape-shifted as the president). Apparently he can still only command one power at a time.
@klzer, LOL. ;-)
By Jeff at 6:20 AM ON 11/04/09
I agree that Peter needs to man-up and kick Sylar's ass. Parkman is just a wuss now.
By chicagorob1 at 8:44 AM ON 11/04/09
Big deal. Nathan has been dead since last season. They didn't put Nathan's mind into Silar's body, they made Silar THINK he was Nathan. Pasdar hasn't been seen since the second or third episode anyway. We've only gotten microsecond glimpes when Silar experiences something that reminds him of Nathan's life...

I'm ready for a SERIES finale because:
I'm tired of Hiro's stupidness.
I'm tired of Claire's whinning.
I'm tired of Matt's stupidness and whinning.
They nerfed Peter.
How does seeing colorful music help you play music?
This whole season has been painful!

I thought the point of leaking news was to tantalize interest, not drive people away.

By brbones at 4:22 PM ON 11/05/09
Why keep up the pretense that this show is about heroism...they glorify villainy. The punish the good and reward the bad…peter gets nerfed…Sylar retains his abilities and gets more screen time because there are effectively two now. Not like the good guys really win…
By HeroesFan at 10:53 AM ON 11/11/09
I am a new fan and am loving the show but...
Sylar dies, the show dies.
By Cervantes at 3:58 PM ON 11/18/09
I lost interest in the first season with the freaking "Save the cheer leader, save the world" bit. Always went to watch and see what the hell would happen to her, nothing, nothing, nothing, she's a freaking healer.. what's the big deal. Save the cheer leader, what the fark bulls.
By dmask76 at 6:26 PM ON 11/30/09
They really need to quit bulling and give Peter his powers back...show hasn't been the same since season...i'm kinda sick of Claire too...
